When you have to unplug electronics, it’s important to pull out the plug for a minimum of 10 seconds. It really makes a difference compared to unplugging and plugging right back in because electricity is still running through your equipment when you perform this action you have to give your equipment enough time to release the energy that was just in it. That’s why 10 seconds minimum is required.
I have the Denon 3700H and I can assure you that all the Denon avr's run HOT - whether in an enclosed or unenclosed cabinet. The power output running 7, 9 or more speakers throws enough heat to fry an egg. Why Denon refuses to offer class D amplification is beyond me. My solution for the heat issue is a fan from ACInfinity. Mine sits on top of my receiver exhausting heat out the rear but they have cooling options for any setup. Looks like you've got a pretty neat setup so enjoy.
I've seen firmware issues on new hardware on many types of electronics like this before. These receivers are mostly in transit still so the software teams could have easily tried to panic rush something through faster than they should have. Hopefully by the time most people get theirs there is just one update that is needed and it runs smooth.
After running for a few days the setup issue seem to have resolved itself. No issue now. Geek Squad came out to replace it and problem was gone. They set my input to HDMI 4 and made an ARC connection between the AVR and my Samsung tv. All good. Will keep it.
@@hifihometheater Will do. Considered moving onto a 4700 that someone was selling for $1300 but cooled on purchase when I saw specs for 3800. Current setup is controlled by the 3600 that I was able to purchase for $900 in 2020 pre covid confusion. The good old days for AV/HT! Anyway thanks for update.
I might upgrade to this or the 4800H. I've had the 3400H almost 5 years now. I upgraded to the Samsung OLED a couple months back so now I want a 2.1 AVR.
I am interested in your review as I am thinking of trying out the 3800 against my Marantz 7706. I really am a person that loves detail and punch in moves. Like you said in another video I am wondering if I am loosing some of that to the warmer (what people say) sound of the Marantz. That and have 4 subs out would work for me.
I have not seen measurements for the 7706 but the 7705 measurements showed where that "warm" sound comes from but then the 8015 measurements looked really good so Im not sure. If the 7706 measures like the 8015, i would say you're not missing anything but if they didnt improve it from the 7705, i would say you are. With the 8012, the "warmth" (distortion)was very audible to me
I'm not one who subscribes to the notion that amps and AVR have an inherent 'sound' to them. Boiled down they are nothing more than electrical energy passing voltage back and forth. That said, I think it is better to look at price and build quality, but just don't buy cheapo crap. Regarding sound it is more the software that dictates 'audio sound,' which can be calibrated to a listeners' delight, witness Audyssey and others like that. One last comment about Denon and Marantz avr's. They have an ECO option that left on will definitely have a negative impact on power to subs. Go into system properties and turn it off. There is also an option that allows one to show the status of ECO mode when pressing volume control.
