    Excellent video and great explanation. The pressure on that stump must have been colossal to crush it like that.

    Great video and thank you for showing the stump and how you circled with the 'back cut'. It looks like the holding wood becomes sort of a cable effect drawing the tree to one side.

    I think you done really good for your childhood friend Wade,you helped make his yard safe for everyone and that's a Christmas gift that gives forever...and you did it with a HUSKY(THATS pronounced S-T-I-H-L)HAHA!!.
    The triple-hinge demo in flip-flops and ball cap was funny too.
    I don't fully understand wearing a hard hat,when you drop a tree that weighs 4-5 times the weight of a one-ton pickup truck,that's not exactly going to do much to protect you.🏃___💨🌲💥

    Vija...don’t cut in your house slippers! Funniest thing I ever saw was a buddy in his house slippers and sweatpants in a storm run out with a little 025 to cut a branch off that had fell on his Japanese Maple...slip and hit his leg right above his knee... right to the bone... after the hospital run it was pretty funny... 👍😁. Stay safe out there fella’s....

    Hey Wade,
    i m watching ur channel for quite a while now and i have to say i enjoy the hack out of it!
    I know u don t do educational stuff or how to vidjas, but i m a professional timber cutter as well, and i got a question..
    Do u think the tripple hinge is working in soft wood like pine or spruce, as well?
    Thanks for ur answer!
    Keep doing save!
    Greetings from Europe.

    When you do the triple hinge do you stop at your last hinge correct you don't cut through your 3 hinges correct you leave them so you start on the far side work your way around and stop at the last hinge you made and then fibers will pull it over is that correct logger wade

      Yup and only on the tension fibers

    Kinda late to the party to see this video, but I wish the camera view would have been on the other side with the vertical plunge cuts so as to see the tree break over. I think I saw this on another of your videos.
    Tough finding out the tree had rotted.

    good vidja some where a while back i read that a hollow tree will never barber chair seeing that hollow tree made me think of it what are your thoughts on that. It makes sense in a way but just wondered what a pro with loads of experience thought

    • @LoggerWade
      @LoggerWade  6 років тому

      of dirt and iron coming up in a little bit got a great on for ya

    • @woos31
      @woos31 6 років тому

      of dirt and iron man I'd have to think it could if a sound tree can do it from heavy lean. But then being hollow it may just tear and smash the wood apart before there was enough tension to chair on a guy. I've seen in videos and heard tell of trees with a rotten centers doin that (I'm on the west coast so could be species, the fact of rot instead of clean hollowed out?) and it's flat SPOOKY to watch. Probably because the rot holds moisture........my dad fell timber in the 80s and into 90s and he'd tell me about rotten snags the would just collapse straight down once a cutter compromised the shell someplace..........that they're all killers layin in wait. When they rigged on a shotgun carriage to yard clear cuts, the snags that a no go to hand fall they'd hook a bunch of choker to it and run that carriage up the main line a ways good and tight against them chokers, give er the leash and watch that thing head down hill about 50 and blow a snag into toothpicks. Kinda hard on wire rope but he said it was damn fun
