    3 Singles Strategies You Need To Know (Tennis Tactics)

    I followed these THREE strategies TODAY in my morning match against my # 1 opponent - and they ALL worked : I aimed all of my returns (of serve) back down to the middle of his baseline / I hit cross court whenever I was standing behind the baseline / and I hit to my # 1 opponent’s feet whenever he came to the net ... AND WHAT A CHANGEOVER : I beat the man for the FIRST time in THREE years. THANK YOU, Ryan - you made my day ... I (finally) GOT THIS !

Thanks again for these videos, you don’t know how much they help me 🙏

      @@2MinuteTennis Hey Ryan, here I am keeping you updated haha.
      I lost 6-2 6-0 and even though the score looks worse then how the match actually went (30-40 or deuce in most game’s), the other guy was a much better player than me, probably 1-2 categories better.
      Nonetheless, when I was able to execute the strategies mentioned in this video, I was able to compete, rally and win some good points.
      I also realized knowing the strategy and being able to execute in every single point are two very different things haha.
      Again, they helped me and I’ll continue working on them, that’s the beauty of this sport, you’re never done 😂.
      Thanks Ryan, have a marvelous week!

    Question: if you’re behind the baseline to return serve why not hit it cross court into the longest part of the court? What’s different about the first ball returning serve vs during a rally?

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  3 роки тому

      It’s a great question. And you can. But the serve tends to be more offensive that ground stokes. So you need more margin for error. Thanks for the question.

    This is such a bad advice at ua-cam.com/video/77YQxcbyg24/v-deo.html re return of serve for any level. For the same reason that you are saying one has to keep the ball cross court. I love doubles content but this is just not good advice. 1) You need to move the server and by returing down the middle you are giving up control. 2) Court is shorter down the middle , one will make more errors trying to return down the middle. 3) By returning down the middle you are giving away a chance to take control of the point and asking the server to start dictating point and the server can simply move a few inches and almost at will send the ball to your weekness. Just like that.
