5 Incredible Doubles Strategies (Win Your Next Tennis Match)
1. Hit the ball to the opponent who’s standing where you’re standing
2. Move up and back like the ball is a magnet
3. Look at the opposing net player when the ball is behind you
4. When you successfully lob your opponents, put your toes on the service line
5: when you’re lobbed, switch and move back diagonally to no-man’s land

This is probably my 20th time watching this video. I want to get these double strategies drilled in my head.
That last tip is gold dust! I've lost count of the amount of times the person who runs back plays a weak ball to the opposing volleyer and they smash it at the net player who just switched. Great video 👍👍
Thanks so much!!!
As a retired teacher, I love your enthusiastic way of coaching. It shows that you love what you do. You mentioned that when playing, the shot you give, determines what your next move should be. I would like to know more about this in different scenarios.
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m just getting into competitive doubles and have obviously been doing all of the points addressed incorrectly! Time to get them built into my muscle memory!! 😎🎾💪🏻
Bill I’m so happy to hear that. Keep me posted!!
Love this! Makes it so easy to understand and help internalize movements. I love that you give reasons why you should or shouldn't do something!
Wow thank you. I saw you commented on one of my singles strategy videos as well. Thanks so much!!
My partner just sent me this... She is an amazing player... We are going to implement these strategies... Thank you for the video.

Watched this and a couple more and then went and played LIGHTS OUT! beat 2 players that have beat me many times! For whatever reason, this clicked and worked!

Thank you Ryan, you’ve helped my recreational play immensely. I’ve improved my singles play and serve quite a bit in the short amount of time that I’ve been watching you (two months). I’m a brand new doubles player as well and I feel like you’ve dropped me into a masters program class that has been very comprehensible and relatively easy to implement. Thanks again and my singles and doubles partners/opponents thank you as well.

Your articulation of these various court dynamics is very clear, strategic and enthusiastic. I could actually watch your videos a few times to let it really sink into my muscle memory and understanding of movement across the court. Your passion for doubles play and teaching is energizing. Thank you!
Thank you for such clear advice & instruction!! 🎾
I love it. I wish you could continue post more to help us with our strategy. Didn’t waste any minute. :)
This is brilliant ! Thanks - doubles tournament tomorrow

Glad you liked it Karthik!!!
Great stuff brother
Great instructional video! Very helpful information. Givien in a very enthusiastic way.
thanks Ryan! These are great tips and the magnets and diagram really helped me to visualize what to do. I cannot wait to use it in a match and see if it makes a difference. I have a good feeling that it will!!
Such an informative video. This is soooo interesting and helpful. Of course, 80 % of the time I am invested in not screwing up my groundstrokes but if there are braincells left to use I will try everything you explained. It all makes so much sense. I used to say that I hate playing doubles but the main reason for that was that I never knew what to do and I was usually the guy with the neck workout. Thank you for taking your time and delivering such great content all the time.
Super helpful. Where have you been Ryan?
I absolutely love these videos. Please make more of these with different levels of play. Coach Ryan, what if I'm on the baseline (Player S on your board) and got a lob cross court back to Player R. So my opponents didn't need to switch. Do I still move up to the service line from the baseline?
Very useful. I applied successfully right moves & right shots after watching videos.
Ryan explains things excellently!!!
Wow thank you Kate!
I played doubles yesterday after reading this tip and I had the most wins ever! I was looking at the opposing net player when the ball was behind me and I wasn't surprised! I was prepared and was able to return most of them :-) Thank you for the hints and clear explanation!
Very helpful! Clearly explained. Love your enthusiasm for teaching. Can’t wait to put these tips into practice!
Hey thanks Jonathan!! Appreciate the support and hope the singles tips help you!
