For those who are struggling to figure out how to conjugate "u-verbs", you'll just have to basically change the "u" sound at the end into an "a" sound before adding the rest(れる). That's also why Ichidan verbs simply change the ending "ru" into "ra".
Also fun fact, the reason why the "a" counterpart to 買う(kau) utilizes the character わ(wa) is because back in the old days, the okurigana う(u) to u-verbs used to be pronounced "wu" and over the years the "w" sound was dropped.
edit: I double checked and it wasn't just the "wu" in う actually, in fact "we,wi" also existed back then too.

Hi! Thanks for this great video, I've learned a lot from this! I have one question: In the sentence ‘ねこに手をなめられました‘ why 'Neko' is followed by the particle 'Ni'? I thought that Ni was used to describe, places, hours and direction do an action, in a fast translation I translated "I licked my hand for the cat". Thank you again for helping people learning japanese!

に has many way of using it. Not just places, hours and direction. In this case, ねこ"に" means "by" cat.
