    Customer here! That engine has done over 105k miles now and survived half a broken rivet going through it (the piston damage!), and was making over 180hp at 8000rpm. It went to James because of high oil consumption, slight loss of compression on a cylinder, and an overheating issue. I've only just completed the running in miles but so far it's smoother, quieter, and just as zingy as ever. One of the reasons I chose James was after watching some of these videos and seeing the attention to detail that goes into the work, and I'm incredibly pleased with the outcome so far. It'll be on the dyno soon for a final check before getting a thrashing on track again.
    Videos of it in action on my channel!

    Great video as usual, the way it should be done. The new engine rebuild shop is looking great better than some F1 shops

    Lovely work as always mate. You still operating out of both shops? Look forward to seeing you soon. By the way, that ratty RS Van engine was put on a dyno recently & pulled a healthy 349hp

    I didn’t know there was 1.6 K series,I always remember seeing 1.8 in LR .Is that basically same motor just slightly smaller?

      Hi kit. For the k series or a series? Yes the balancer is very good.. did you get my reply about the line boring?

      @christophercullen1236 Рік тому +1

      @Grace Engine Developments James thank you for the reply, I am trying to develop a main seal conversion from a Holden 6 cly . Engines.
      I can get custom made ones but price is prohibiting, trying to find a of the self item .
      Line boring and hone : The motor had been bore and honed previously ( 250 kilometres) I made 3 steel main bearing caps which were faced , left a 5 thousand machining allowances. Was charged 7.5 hours for bore and hone gathering information on this job!
      Thanks for your help.

    You didn't mention liner height in the video which is crucial on these and why they suffer from head gasket problems

      I didn't mention a lot of things that got done Vince why pick fault on one thing?

      @vinceevans3219 Рік тому +1

      I wasn't picking fault tbh I just thought if anyone was building one it would be and important thing to knock I've literally built hundreds of these at janspeed and it was our development that produced the ms2 head castings
