Somehow, this is how my elder brother and I. We have a cold relationship sibs. We dont talk much. But behind his back, I praised him, protected him and adored him. He is my elder brother & will always be. Eventho we fought alot I love my brother 🤍.

I highly doubt Daemon, whose character revolves around decisive action and spur-of-the-moment decision making, did not mean that the greens plotted to slowly poison Viserys to death. Or atleast after naming Rhaenerya as the rightful heir, he should have married her off to Daemon. This way he could have maintained the bloodline and avoided the Hightowers' influence. There would have been no strife between Rhaenyra and Alicent. There would have been no Aegon, Aemond or Haelena. There would have been no illegitimate children with Strong or any scene of Rhaenyra with Crispin Cole. Rhaenys would have had both their children with her. There would never have been any concept of Greens and the whole Dance of Dragons could have been avoided! Damn you Viserys! 😢

The so called weaker brother ascended the throne while the some would say, more deserving and dominant brother had to take the back seat. I think he absolutely proved his loyalty to Visery's when he came back wearing that crown for "king of the narrow sea" but literally took the crown off bent the knee and gave the crown to Visery's saying "You are the 1 true king"...I think that was the moment Visery's knew Dameon would never try to overtake him and steal the crown. It's not what he wanted.

Really don’t like how the show decided to double down on that awful “all must choose” garbage. Both sides are pretty morally horrible in their own rights. Very few redeeming qualities on either side, not to mention they are fighting a literal war over who gets to sit on the big chair. That whole good vs evil trope is the antithesis of asoiaf. Daemon is cool, but far from admirable and not at all someone you should be comparing yourself too.

He shared the prophecy with her, thinking it was rhaenyra, even telling her before about his vision of a male heir, born to him wearing the conquerors crown. In alicents eyes, she was putting the rightful heir on the throne. The heir she believed viserys wanted and by all the laws of gods and men, aegon is the rightful king. Not to mention there was established precedent women can’t, or rather shouldn’t, be the ruling monarch, and that means a lot. Precedent is as good as law in many cases. In the books atleast, rhaenys is destroyed by viserys in the Great Council vote. It isn’t even close. This is a medieval world, not the modern west. Women are more akin to property in Westeros, even highborn women. All this to say, the blacks have some disgustingly evil people in their corner as well, who have only a shaky claim to the throne. Not to mention what daemon/rhaenyra had done to her nephew. Literally had her half brothers infant son butchered for revenge. Just because your son was tragically taken from you, doesn’t give you the right to slaughter innocent children. Especially not family members. The war is started, and all sides have shed their morals. Favoring either side is just nonsensical. GRRM wrote asoiaf pretty much to say screw you to the good vs evil trope, and that “all must choose” bs goes entirely against it. One last thing about the war starting, it’s literally almost entirely because rhaenyra couldn’t keep her legs closed. So let’s hold off on trying to make the greens look like the sole aggressors here. Alicent explicitly wanted rhaenyra to be left alive, and not be humiliated. Both sides have done and will do acts of incredible evil to each other, because both sides legitimately believe they are right. There is no evil “team”.
The sad part is, Deamond really wanted was his brother approval, he wanted to be known as his strong right hand. It part of why he hates Otto so much, he feel like Otto stole his place.

It wasn't until after Harrenhall that Daemon would quit lusting for the throne, but it was after understanding his brother's love for him and how truly unconditional it was that his ruthlessness turned to familial compassion. Something which for a time made him very worthy of that throne were it not for his avarice and anger.
They are basically the only royal/noble blooded siblings in the entire GOT universe that can actually truly trust each other & genuinely care & love one another as close siblings.
No matter how many times viserys banished him, he always welcomed him back with a smile, truly a brother.

There may be a part of him that wants the throne but he obviously isn’t batshit crazy about it to the point where he would usurp the throne. And why would Viserys saying he doesn’t want to be king means he thinks less of him? Not wanting to be king doesn’t make you weak or less than someone, Viserys knows Daemons power. And saying he wouldn’t kill his brother while also saying he wouldn’t want to be king is retarded because that’s literally what he would have to do in order to become king, either that or doing other scheming and Daemon doesn’t do that shit like Otto.
There’s a whole conversation about this on Reddit and everyone has different opinions about it and a lot of them refer to the smile Daemon has in this scene. Most agree Daemon wouldn’t want to be king.

Evidences here, because I don't like affirmating things only for itself. Daemon had more than one opportunity to take a crown or great title, like in Stepstones or his ex wife land (A lot of people say he was defeated, but he never really cared about gaining the title, he basically have nothing better to do by the time, like in Stepstones). He never wanted any of this. Like Viserys says, Daemon lacks of patience, and even in Fire and Blood this is reinforced. He was a battleman, he wanted glories and fights, not a throne. Yeah, Daemon is ambitious, a ambition that create armies, not laws. Just look at Golden Cloaks. That doesn't mean, though, he won't participate in the king's decisions.

Daemon and Viserys vs Rhaenyra and Alicent. Men vs women. This is accurately portrayed. Women, no matter how close and for how long, will always see negative and not fully trust the other.
But men? As the saying goes, men can bond over anything. And sure enough, a man will absolutely fight like hell for the bond he has with another, especially for a brother.

The way Daemon had Viserys back is admirable. They knew the meaning of family and held strong until the end. Seeing those two stand up for each other so much reminds me of my relationship with my siblings.
One thing that's redeeming about Daemon is that he is ambitious not for himself but for his family. He loved Viserys. And Viserys knew that and trusted him the most.

Really don’t like how the show decided to double down on that awful “all must choose” garbage. Both sides are pretty morally horrible in their own rights. Very few redeeming qualities on either side, not to mention they are fighting a literal war over who gets to sit on the big chair. That whole good vs evil trope is the antithesis of asoiaf. Daemon is cool, but far from admirable and not at all someone you should be comparing yourself too.

Alicent and Otto literally started all of this shit. Obviously each character on both teams is flawed and some of them are totally awful like Daemon is, but as a whole movement? The greens movement is the problem.

@@reneejett6509 I hate what the show did for the marketing. It’s really got people convinced one side is in the right🤦🏻♂️ In Alicents eyes, atleast in the show, viserys wanted aegon to be king. He shared the prophecy with her, thinking it was rhaenyra, even telling her before about his vision of a male heir, born to him wearing the conquerors crown.
In alicents eyes, she was putting the rightful heir on the throne. The heir she believed viserys wanted and by all the laws of gods and men, aegon is the rightful king. Not to mention there was established precedent women can’t, or rather shouldn’t, be the ruling monarch, and that means a lot. Precedent is as good as law in many cases.
In the books atleast, rhaenys is destroyed by viserys in the Great Council vote. It isn’t even close. This is a medieval world, not the modern west. Women are more akin to property in Westeros, even highborn women.
All this to say, the blacks have some disgustingly evil people in their corner as well, who have only a shaky claim to the throne. Not to mention what daemon/rhaenyra had done to her nephew. Literally had her half brothers infant son butchered for revenge. Just because your son was tragically taken from you, doesn’t give you the right to slaughter innocent children. Especially not family members.
The war is started, and all sides have shed their morals. Favoring either side is just nonsensical. GRRM wrote asoiaf pretty much to say screw you to the good vs evil trope, and that “all must choose” bs goes entirely against it.
One last thing about the war starting, it’s literally almost entirely because rhaenyra couldn’t keep her legs closed. So let’s hold off on trying to make the greens look like the sole aggressors here. Alicent explicitly wanted rhaenyra to be left alive, and not be humiliated.
Both sides have done and will do acts of incredible evil to each other, because both sides legitimately believe they are right. There is no evil “team”.

It wasn't until after Harrenhall that Daemon would quit lusting for the throne, but it was after understanding his brother's love for him and how truly unconditional it was that his ruthlessness turned to familial compassion. Something which for a time made him very worthy of that throne were it not for his avarice and anger.
Daemon is the typical younger brother always wanting to have his older brother’s approval.
Their relationship was heartwarming. I think Daemon lost a bit of himself when Viserys passed.
