- I share my tips on building a stash for scrap quilting. I show how I cut yardage into smaller pieces so I have a fabric in my stash in all different sizes, including strips! I also show you how I store all this fabric so it's easy to access when it's time to make a quilt.
Great information. Love how you cut up the fabric yards into different size pieces, and store them. Thank you for all your helpful tips!
You are so welcome!
Very organized scraps…love the ideas!❤
Thanks!
Love the idea of rolling the Fat 1/8s ! Given that I store mine with my FQs it easily distinguishes them so know what I have.
Regarding squaring off the uneven edges of pieces I'm going to subcut into strips, I cut off the uneven edges on one or both sides at about one or two inches in (depending on how many strips I want to get out of the middle of it) and that goes into a "String Stash" bag. String quilt designs don't always need even edges for the piecing and this way I get to use every bit of that piece of fabric.
Great idea to add to your string stash!
Thanks Deanne. Always looking for new ideas. Dort

Glad you got a few ideas from me. 🙂
