  • I share my tips on building a stash for scrap quilting. I show how I cut yardage into smaller pieces so I have a fabric in my stash in all different sizes, including strips! I also show you how I store all this fabric so it's easy to access when it's time to make a quilt.

    Love the idea of rolling the Fat 1/8s ! Given that I store mine with my FQs it easily distinguishes them so know what I have.
    Regarding squaring off the uneven edges of pieces I'm going to subcut into strips, I cut off the uneven edges on one or both sides at about one or two inches in (depending on how many strips I want to get out of the middle of it) and that goes into a "String Stash" bag. String quilt designs don't always need even edges for the piecing and this way I get to use every bit of that piece of fabric.

    great idea, I store them similar to you but dont cut them into the sizes you do, I will have to try that, thanks
