It was so great seeing all of your contributions to this project and how you pushed Jimmy even further than he would have gone. I only wish you were still going to be around for the big event!
How did I miss this build????...Really awesome!!..I love that welding table...I have to build one of those....Super cool!!!...That was an incredible amount of work that went into that beautiful little go-kart...
It works as a CVT. As the rpm rises, it modifies the torque coming from the engine to the wheels. it mimics changing gears to a closer ratio as the rpm increases, as the rpm decreases it brings the ratios further apart like 1st gear would be in a vehicles transmission.
steering arms should point to center of rear axle, king pin should be angled so it points to center of spot where tire touches the ground. Also should have king pins rolled back a few degrees. Great cart and nice to see the others helping!! Thanks for the video Jimmy.
I was very pleased to see the details you have outlined, the geometry of the front axle/steering components will make a world of difference, good to see you have a simple explanation that is absolutely correct, 👍
Beautiful, Jimmy! Amazing work!!! 😃 Unfortunately, Neil shouldn't be there anymore... But if he is, give him a hug for me! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Still can't get around the fact that you got Neil Paskin just casually joining your project. On a more general level I think the tools in a shop matters less than all the people either in the shop or along your maker journey. Great build!
That this was a group project makes it so much better! I loved the teaser shots of the trial run weaved into the build video. Thanks for sharing Jimmy!
Sick build so inspiration seeing pask and corin play there part to. Really showcases the versatility and use of every machine you have. Definately one of my favorites so far. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You're such an inspiration Jimmy! Not only in making, but life in general. Watched a documentary on you last night on youtube and just wanted to thank you for the inspiration over the years. I've been watching since Hammered & Dirty Money and followed you along the years. From when I was a teen, now I'm 35. Now I'm working on getting my own land oasis's and have my work spaces in Northern California. Even though I have never met you in person, I can tell you're a genuinely cool dude and when I "grow up" (don't think we ever will) I want to be like you! Love your videos and wanted to say Thanks!
Super fun build, love the jalopy look! I've been following Neil for a while now and love his work too. It's fun to see you both working on a project together. I've heard him talking about "my mate Corin" many times, so it's fun to finally see him in front of the camera. Thanks for sharing!
I can never get enough of your videos. I’ve been a fan for a very long time. I learned so much from your work. Thanks for always sharing your talents with us. I love making Halloween props so my favorite one is the first coffin build. Must have watched that 100 times lol
Wow! What a fabulously exciting, swift & awesome build, everything coming together into a splendid & beautiful red race machine, the components competing with each other to take their station without delay as though in a racing pit stop, desperate for the track. Such a joy & delight to watch! Thank you for sharing!
Sure, we'll just whip up a go-cart... sounds easy, right? So many details!! At one point I said, this does NOT look sturdy... then Jimmy adds steel rod trusses and it becomes solid as a rock. Very cool that some bona fide craftsman stopped by to lend a hand.
It looks fantastic. A great match up for the great race. Let that monster cart with the snow mobile engine do its best to steal the show......alas...You'll be ready for him this year! 1924 Lives on!!!!
A little steampunk air this Kart 😍 Phileas Fogg would certainly have used it for his world tour. Another superb achievement, thank you for this show Mr.
Excelente proyecto muy bien desarrollado y mejor ejecutado maestro, un cart muy original y peculiar, gracias a usted y a sus compañeros colaboradores, un cordial saludo y por supuesto un merecido like desde Narón (Galicia)👍🤓😜
@@kiiiisuand snowmobiles. There was also an Eastern European car called the DAF that used a pair of them (one on each rear wheel), and no differential.
This looks incredible and I can’t wait to see it in the flesh! Even keeping up on Instagram there are so many more parts on this build that I thought were off the shelf components that you actually built from scratch. But besides that, the visual appeal of this thing is just off the charts. I didn’t think you could outdo last year’s build but it looks like you did🙌🏻
Amazing! Always the just about perfect ratio of exact versus eyeballed! The technician and the artist all in one craftsman. Always a treat to watch, always something valuable new to learn. Also there might be scratch built go carts before but the 20s styling on this one is right on the money (expect perhaps the CVT and the disk brake, but again they both somehow don't seem to subtract from the style much if any)
Had you ever built a go-kart from scratch before ??? Was awesome watching all of you working on the same project. My father used to build go-karts and mini-sprints and it's always been something on my bucket list of things to make.
That was wheely good……..while they lasted. The jalopy is looking great, would love to see a couple of feet shaped pedals for your stop and go , and maybe a bit of nitrous 😁
Instead of using a CVT transmission it would be sick to upgrade it to a Shifter Kart because that classic feel would really complete this build, that and some proper scooter rims and tires
The transmission you use is a VARIOMATIC, invented by Hub van Doorne, Eindhoven-The Netherlands in the ‘60th. It was first used in the DAF33 automobil, a funny little dutch familycar, my father owned one.
When I was a kid, we called it a torque averter, as opposed to a torque converter in a car. Now, I think they are called "continuously variable transmissions" or CVTs for short. I had one on a 50cc trail bike when I was 12, but it also had a 3 speed gearbox. It was loads of fun. The 70s was a great place to live.
Awesome Jimmy! Thanks for letting us join in, it was fun times! You'll have to visit us some time (and bring Derek along too!). :)
Absolutely! What a fantastic end result too!!!
thank you guys!!! happy we got this record xoxo
Hey Neil this looks suspiciously like Peter Brocks first car🤔
Did you give Jimmy any inspiration on this build?
It was so great seeing all of your contributions to this project and how you pushed Jimmy even further than he would have gone. I only wish you were still going to be around for the big event!
I just said to myself-hey, I know that guy! Love seeing the collaboration! Love your content Pask!

Wow Neil Pask in the house! Pretty sure Neil and Jimmy together could build just about anything
I've often said Neil could probably make a jig to construct a nuclear plant in one operation. lol
Yep, they even built a friendship.
Absolutely!

Hmm Pask Makes, wonder what he's doing there. Hopefully a big collab. Great to see you working together.
You might want to come up with a plan B for the wheels. This one's aren't meant to hold up to a sideload. They're meant to lean into corners.
What a great build!
💪🏼🤘🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@jimmydiresta To be precise, this is a CVT transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission)
Fantastic build! Great way to break it in in Jimmy’s speedway. I see a whole new class of “retro” style model T cart races on the horizon.

Haa yeah that's how I ROLL
I'm 44 y.o, owner and pre owned of some nice cars, but a cool go kart like this is still a childhood dream of mine.
Lot's of big brain in that shed!!! Neil, Corin and Jimmy!?! whoa..
Diresta and pask? Love when these UA-cam juggernauts collab
The @ViceGripGarage t-shirt was a nice touch too! :)
The look on your face at the end Jimmy, bloody brilliant. Overgrown children across the world (myself included) are green with envy.

Some king pin inclination would help steering and tyres immensely!
Now you need to make a mini street cleaner to drive around the track and scrub it nice and clean for the races!
