Great painting channel, you actually explain what you're doing in a down to earth way, while showing how it's done, yours is the best channel on spray painting, thanks very much
Good advice on the flash time. It's quicker to wait the 10 min than having to come back and buff out the dieback. Also, good words on not hammering on the clear. Too many painters think it's manly to hammer it on. Three med. coats with proper flash is better than two heavy coats and risking runs.
Love your vids! Always nice having the different perspectives. From Annapolis Maryland , I've been a painter and bodyman since 1987. Been PPG always but really don't care for the Envirobase!
I use the RM Onyx HD on about 10 or 12 jobs at like that a little better. I've had an issue with a couple bad color matches on the envirobase... partially my fault cuz I don't have a mixing system so I get my paint mixed at my local paint store and I had just ordered the prime. I should have taken the extra time to remove a part from the vehicle and take it to my paint store for a prophet scan or variant deck match first.
+Kevin Anderson haha thanks man!!! Don't scare me like that! Last time someone told me that they got upset at me because I didn't answer a question how they wanted me to! 🤤😁😁
Hi Gabriel, thanks for your content, probably best painting related channel. You often paint clear with two medium wet coats. Do you remember any of your videos that exacly shows the difference between wet/medium wet/dry coats? I mean some close up views of how does it actualy looks right after. This might be strange question for you, but its hard to find out the difference for begeiner and follow to your advice :) kind regards from Poland
Hey! Good question. Dry would be tiny orange peel very thin. Medium wet would be orange peel but not to thick and wet coat would be most no orange peel. But everyone will be different
Sir Gabriel can you wet sand silver metallic or any metallic color before applying topcoat thanks, because some painter said silver or any metalliccolor are not sandable ,thanks
Always do the pumper bars first so that way you do not get overspray on the car because it could affect the finish. Pluss cover up the rest of the car with plastic covering when doing touch-ups
Hi friend I like your advices and I wanna ask you this I got my matching paint color it's yelwish white metallic and the card but when I sprayed it was more to blueish white white I put about three coat of base coat and two coats of Purle and I tagcloth it . Where is the problem. Thanks
Loving the content, been combing through your videos to prepare for my painting project. Ive been looking at vids of you spraying similar colors. Im going to be spraying titanium grey metallic volvo 455. I have a spot in the center of the hood, 10 inches diameter once primed and the front of the door near the side mirror. Im trying to figure out if i need to use blending clear on the blending areas or not? It looks like in this video you did not need it to achieve the blend, but ive seen the gunman on youtube use it on some applications so im confused when to use it.
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS I completely skipped over the blending info on the tds the first time I read it, it mentions the product and that it can be used as a color blended (mixing it 1:1 with the base) or as a wet bed. Not sure which method would be best for my application, I am thinking the wet bed would be best for the metallics, my only concern is my paint environment is not the best so junk could possible get stuck in the wet bed if it stays tacky for a long time. If I dilute it 1:1 as I step out the base, I could still tac the rest of the panel before clear so I dont seal in a bunch of junk. Do you have any thoughts on the blending method considering the metallics and less than idea painting booth? If not, I am leaning towards the wet bed and just doing all I can to keep the painting area clean. Thanks again for all the info and videos you already have up, so many nuances to painting it can be hard to find details on specific situations, so sometimes you just have to try it and see how it turns out.
Good video. My question is, when do you peel off your tape and plastic covering your windows and everything? When the pint is still tacky or wait for it to fully dry?
keep up the great work! you're using the Devilbiss "Basecoat" gun , would you also recommend it for solvent base? How long has it been since you were using solvent? I'm looking for the ultimate metallic base gun:-)
+Todd Cooley hello! I haven't sprayed solvent in 7 years so I couldn't tell you but I have heard very good things on the base coat tekna even for solvent it comes with two separate caps so you could test it out with both of the caps. Thanks my friend!
How do you not get over spray all over the vehicles passenger side? I think back taping and bagging the car is much faster and the entire car is covered
Good day Gabriel nice video.. I subscribed to ur channel thumps up.. so talked fluid wide open with enteck iwata ls400 spraye mettellics.. where would you have trigger on first coverage say a bit idea sorta ye thx for sharing talk envirobase

It all depends on what paint line you are using check the technical data sheet it will be very helpful
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS thank you for the reply! Very helpful

We always wait after bake when there is no chance of paper sticking to it

+Kevin Ali awesome ;!!!!!! I use so many guns! But I've been liking my sagolas lately
MOTIVATED PAINTERS OK but which of those works for you with base coat and your clearing
Good video, God Bless you!
Awesome work as usual man! Do you not suffer from overspray from only masking half the car?
+Robbie Baker no my friend because we apply a very thick coat of spray mask 😀

+Robbie Baker you with soap and water
Cool! not something ive ever used! 👍🏻
