If you have any questions, just leave a comment below. If the insole is glued down, just pull it up. That's what I did for these shoes, you can see the glue on the bottom of the insole. If the insole slides around you can always glue the insole back down. This way of lacing shoes doesn't have a name so I just call it diagonal lace. And then I tie the laces under the insole so there's no bow.
I have been tying shoes for 25 years. and you just revolutionized how I tie my shoes.Why wasn't I taught this way?

thanks for the tutorial, but i got 18 holes, 9 left, 9 right. what do you prefer or any new lace for my shoes?
In the video there's 6 eyelets on each side, and it's like 3 laces diagonal. If you have 9 eyelets, you could do it so it's 4 laces diagonal, and then just not use the top eyelet.
I don't have any shoes with 9 eyelets on each side so I don't have any styles for that.

Do you not still feel the knot under your foot? I would think that would be distracting / annoying.

If you place the knot just right (like he did in the video) you'll never notice it at all, your foot never really touches that part of the inside..

You should be able to, as long as there's 6 eyelets. If you have more than six eyelets you could just use the bottom six or change the design a little.
