Did you consider using a Truss for the roof to give you more clearance for your scope? Perhaps enough such that you would not need to have a "Observatory Home"? It would be nice to not have to worry about opening or closing the roof and hitting the telescope.By the way, love your videos. I guess yours will be the "best" observatory build I've watched so far.
Thank you so much for watching! I did consider different designs but I ended up with this since I wanted the scope to be as high up as possible to get the most clearance for the horizon. In retrospect I could have had it mounted a bit lower though. I probably would have gone for full height if I were to build it again just because it's a bit hard to be in there.
Looks good and the hiking looks amazing.
Thank you so much! Yes, the hiking up there is incredible!
It's taking shape, Mårten. Good stuff. Now if it was me, I would have already cut off 3 or more fingers and my left arm. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! We are getting to the hard part. I also need to get the large tree taken care of before I assemble the thing.
great video; thank you for the effort you have put in to your channel
Thank you so much, it's you guys that keep me going.

Clearly not a framer however it all worked out, good job.
No, I'm not a professional framer, I work with information security :)
Can I hire you to make a sliding roof for me?
Thank you, but I'm no professional :)
