Hi everyone, I totally forgot to include the price of the switches here as I already had them from a previous build. The total cost of everything including the switches is about $110~ USD. The price stated in the video was a very rounded up estimate of the cost I paid (for eg. the Everglide stabs were actually about $7USD). But it really depend on your country and the store you buy from. But if you must know, I got 90switches for about $14~15usd.
3:12 really appreciate this gesture to show that you are just showing what you're doing as a hobby. As the term "tutorial" or "how to" themselves are often being used in many titles despite not having any guide on them.
Thank you so much for this video. I know that is not a tutorial, but shows for me that a little bit of work can improve so much 🙃 I will definitely do this on my rk84!
Seeing you go above and beyond for this board really made me happy. You actually put in effort to get the views instead of other small creators who just plop on new keycaps and do b-rolls and call it a video. You actually care. Props to you! You just received another sub!
Nice vid... This is the best sounding rk84 I've seen so far.. I got one & um having high hopes for it now.. I really wish to see this channel grow & get proper recognition it deserves 🤟🏾..
"The switches felt pretty cheap and not very nice" I feel your pain. I have the RK71 with the same switches. They are scratchy and a bit chattery. Lubing helped, but not that much. The cheap thin ABS keycaps did not help matters either.
thanks for the support man. Currently not selling any custom keyboard thou.. but maybe in the future! will definitely have future plans and ill keep everyone updated
holy shit i was planning to do the exact same build! rk84, gateron yellow milky tops, everglide stabs, XDA matcha keycaps and even the mods! HAHAHAHA but i bought the black version of the rk84, and i plan to add silicone and pcb foam, im also gonna try the standoff gasket mount thing HAHAHAHA. feeling very hopeful after watching this, thanks for the vid!
Amazing video 👍 I've done similar to my Gamakay 87 with lubed yellows and Macaron xda keycaps, sadly there's very little space for foam mod. Yours sounds incredible.
I am waiting for mine to come from china, it will be my first modded keyboard. I don't have the Patience and watching videos all the time. I can't wait to mod mine !!
What do you think of the LEDs after installing the milky yellows? I assume the milky switch housing would make the LEDs even dimmer than they already are
Wow, I love this video, the keyboard sounds soooo satisfying, I might try to build something like it in the near future. I've heard that Akko rose reds are overtaking get yellows, which switch do you recommend for me building a budget friendly keyboard like this?
Sadly there is no battery indicator on the board, only a blinking light on the space bar when the battery is low. However I’ve used this board for a week without charging so I don’t think you will need to charge it often, maybe once a week? The foam I used in the board was some anti-slip mat/pad I found in a diy store LOL. Saw another youtuber use it and it works pretty well :)
I saw a video about it and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. Especially for that price, the only good thing about it is its alu case but other than that, I feel like you can find better keyboards at that price.
haha totally forgot about it since i already had them from a previous build. The budget i stated here is also rounded up and is just a rough estimate of everything. This build should not cost you anything above $115 but thats really depending on where you live and where you purchase your item for :)
Is it just me or are you using different mics to record the keyboards? the stock one you used a mic w/o the puff thing on top meanwhile the modded one, you used it with the puff thing?
I used the same mic with the same setting, just at a different location and on a tripod instead of a microphone arm. I had some issues recording at my normal set up haha so I had to find a different place to record.
Hey, man. Are these affiliate links in the description? Your video is the best I've seen so far for this keyboard and I wanna at least thank you by supporting any affiliate links for this build. I'm planning to buy the exact keyboard.
Keep going fellow SGer, need to see more content where we can buy from local brands. Next time its better to talk through i think, reading text isn't as nice.
Stop calling keyboard that go for 100 budget!!! Yes there are more expensive out there but true budget is 50 dollars or less. Like it or not this is right up there with the rest of customs and prebuilt

Hello, Wow, It is interesting. I am impressed. Cool. 👍👊❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏
Can you fit low profile caps and switches into this board?
Good video! Also an RK84 user, no mods at the moment because I think its satisfactory for now.😀
Is it working fine?
Amazing video 👍 I've done similar to my Gamakay 87 with lubed yellows and Macaron xda keycaps, sadly there's very little space for foam mod. Yours sounds incredible.
sounds good man, going to mod a gamakay 61 soon!
@@kosongkeys3939 Would love to see that, and how you handle the foam mod
I am waiting for mine to come from china, it will be my first modded keyboard. I don't have the Patience and watching videos all the time. I can't wait to mod mine !!
where do you live? its quite hard to get foam in indonesia. Do you have any suggestion?
What do you think of the LEDs after installing the milky yellows? I assume the milky switch housing would make the LEDs even dimmer than they already are
what screwdriver did you use
Were the switches free
Wow, I love this video, the keyboard sounds soooo satisfying, I might try to build something like it in the near future. I've heard that Akko rose reds are overtaking get yellows, which switch do you recommend for me building a budget friendly keyboard like this?
Sending this to my mom to convince her ehehehehe, u also earned a sub :D
LOL thats a first, hope you can get your keyboard!! tyty
How does the battery indicators work like when the keyboard is low or fully charged? Also what foam did you use for the case?
Sadly there is no battery indicator on the board, only a blinking light on the space bar when the battery is low. The foam I used in the board was some anti-slip mat/pad I found in a diy store LOL. Saw another youtuber use it and it works pretty well :)
Thoughts on the Rk84 pro model that came out?
I saw a video about it and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. Especially for that price, the only good thing about it is its alu case but other than that, I feel like you can find better keyboards at that price.
What music is used in the video?
So the switches not in the budget?im sorry,im new in mechanical keyboard world..idk much
haha totally forgot about it since i already had them from a previous build. The budget i stated here is also rounded up and is just a rough estimate of everything. @@kosongkeys3939 thank you
that sounds goood. mine is in the mail time to go out and buy weird greases and band aids.
XD haha atb for your board
Is it just me or are you using different mics to record the keyboards? the stock one you used a mic w/o the puff thing on top meanwhile the modded one, you used it with the puff thing?
Oh i just remove the puffy thing, but it's the same mic
@@kosongkeys3939 okay

why use different mic? Should have used the same setup as the stock sound test.
I used the same mic with the same setting, just at a different location and on a tripod instead of a microphone arm. I had some issues recording at my normal set up haha so I had to find a different place to record.
I dont know where do you live but this same keyboard costed me around $50. White color with brown keys.
u can just buy a version with brown switches they have better sound than red switches
Is it using gateron?
Yup, gateron milky top yellow
@@kosongkeys3939 major different with gateron yellow?
@@anjaspradhana6430 the different is not major, but the milky tops are just a little bit smoother
@@kosongkeys3939 ok, thankyou for the answers.
what is the name of that 1 keyboard?
Royal Kludge RK84

What the switch
Gateron milky top yellow
ouch, that flickering LED caused by the camera is quite harsh to the eye.
iphone problems👍🏼
Sounds real nice, but RIP RGB.
Can I send you my keyboard and do it like that XD ur so good man I love it
haha the mods are all pretty simple, just watch some tutorials, do some practices, and I am sure your keyboard can sound good as well :)
Kinda disappointed because I was waiting for the "build" part.
