I hear PVB as the binder works really well for rolling stars. I don't roll to many of my stars but if I did, I would definitely try it.

I need to get a star roller. I tried to make one. It didn't work out well.

forgive me if you mentioned it in the video but why start hand rolling instead of in the mixer.
I find it easier to initially start the stars using the bowl method.
Also, if you are making small shells, you can complete the stars using the bowls.
