OMG never knew this existed. Can't wait to try out some of the dishes A big heart felt thank-you from a deprived foodie inhabiting the culinary desolate, wasteland of the eastern suburbs... mwaaa
I'm born and raised in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, with some family living in Glenny. I never knew there was such a gem of South-East Asian food at The Glen!!!! I'll definitely need to make a trip to the East soon! Just found your channel by the way and absolutely love it! Subscribed! Hope you guys gain more followers, love both of your positive energies!
The drink/dessert you had in a sealed cup , in Singapore is actually called: cheng tng. It is served fresh in a bowl(with a Chinese spoon) with shaved iced if you want it cold OR warm.
I frequent The Glen pretty often but never considered that whole downstairs area asafood court, usually go to the main one upstairs. Always just thought it was groceries, but will definately be going deeper inside them and doscovering the foods. Foodle i think is new but excited to go there next time, my mum told me about a food court inside the new shop so this must be the one! Think i might just go to the Glen tomorrow now!! Haha
As a local resident, I peruse the services around this area a lot. I’m at the Glen every Saturday. The place has gone from strength to strength. Such a friendly, inviting, and inclusive place.
Nice video. I think Foodle is fairly recent, didn’t even realise you could eat there. The second floor has another food court which is also worth a look. Can remember there was a bit of hype when Local Hero Singapore opened - basically a selection of some great hawker dishes that received Michelin bib gourmand awards.
Outside glen there is a placecalled charcoal chicken ...its awsum...ul never have crispy fries like they make it. And some noodles wowww...m going next week...thanks for reminding....i would go to miss ping as welll...lovely thai food..❤❤❤
That looks amazing! I've only eaten at the restaurants at the entrance and along Kings Way - I've got to checkout the food court. Thanks so much for the recommendations :) The food looks much more interesting that the Chadstone food court.
Not unusual nowadays. You cant go anwhere, even an Italian destination food hall now caters for asian cuisine. Mercato could have been a great place for an authentic Italian experience but yet we are faced with Asian options, again and again. @@JimmiAlli
Yes! But you've left out a few important details in the thumbnail. I would've added "Food Heaven for the Rich" or "If you're Broke, don't Poke" or "If you must ask, just keep walking pass". The locals bring their own home-made lunches.
@LocalEaters There's too many to name. Definitely check out Yum Cha at the Chen or Haidilao Hotpot though. It's a big chinese community in Box Hill, definitely worth checking out is Carrington road, lots of nice restaurants there.
Rougamo... strange way to spell it, should be RouJiaMo (肉夹馍). But yes, they're delicious. Xian-style bun. Juicy slow-cooked pulled meat in a soft bun。Pronunciation is row jar more
Its sad to often see most food vlogs about Melbourne focusing only on the asian cuisine options. Not only is this short sighted but narrow minded also. Melbourne has always been lnown for its European feel and roots. Yet, we are presented with only Asian options disregarding all the other amazing options Melbourne is known for. You go into the Melbourne CBD now and it feels and looks like an Asian city, Melbourne has lost its true self sadly. However there are some great European food options available, unfortunately most vloggers cant see it. This vlog shows nothing about the true food culture in Melbourne, yet another lame vlog.
Your response can only be described as immature and uneducated. As a Melbourne foodie, I watch to see if there is anything that is unique, original and inspiring. You fail on all 3, you just can't or won't see it. It doesn't hurt my feelings, an ignorant vlogger who thinks they are unique, interesting and informed, just bores me and many others.
@@michellele8652Most vloggers are narcissists and really have no idea about their topic of choice but just regurgitate the same venues, experiences etc. that have already been done to death. This vlog does not reflect Melbourne's amazing diversity of eateries, just another Asian focused vlog showcasing the same venues. FYI Pellegrinis just celebrated 70 years of service. Now this is part ( the beginning ) of true Melbourne cafe culture. You probably havent heard of it as there arent matcha options on the menu. @michellele8652
I moved out once renovation started. Went back and was blown away by the changes.

Enjoy 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your visit to The Glen Shopping Centre.
What a variety of food options!
Well done on your video 👏
Thanks so much! 🙏
Yum! Can’t wait to come down again & go ‘foodsploring’ with you both!
Definitely!!
A glorious celebration of Melbourne food culture.
💯

I never know this hidden Food Court in the Glen. I always go to 2nd levels food court. Thanks for your introduction and sharing.
Yeah make sure you check it out!

I haven't been near The Glen in years. I will now though!

Yeah I definitely want to check upstairs out next time. Heard good things about local hero and Laksa!
It looks like “The Glen” has grown quite a bit since I was last there.
Definitely 😁

Time for an explore next time you're there! Thanks for watching 🙏
Jianbing is one of my favourite Chinese street food snacks.
I'll have to get one next time!
Lovely I miss Melbourne...
City of delicious food!
Looks amazing! You are right the sushi looks like Japan. Not the povo version we usually see here
Haha yes not often does Melbourne stack up to Japan.
im at the glen almost every weekend and I never even knew Foodle had a food court inside 🤣
Time to check it out 😁
I'm hungry now!
Kings Way and The Glen has come such a long way recently! It’s a great little hot spot for a variety of cuisines. Love the video!

That rougamo was 11/10
But where is it?

The price is a monster killer.
Waaaaiiiit why do I feel like I’ve totally missed this at the Glen?! Where’s the sushi place at the Glen, like what other shops is this near?
This is on the lower level, it's called foodle and same floor as Coles
Thanks, have you done a video on Mercato Centrale?
No not yet, but it's on the list of places. Looks great, and I just got back from Italy too.
Sadly Mercato is suppose to be about Italian food destination however there are also Asian food vendors in Mercato. Really defeats the purpose.
@ I haven’t been there yet but that’s unusual.

Wish you went a little slower over the prices… Will definitely be visiting soon. Thank you
Next time!

Where's your favourite food court in Melbourne? List in the comments below.

Are you going to try that new Italian food court thing on Collins St near Southern Cross?
If it's delicious I'm there!
Come to Box Hill ❤
Any places you recommend?

@@LocalEaters Haidilao Hotpot or the Chen for Yum Cha 😋
FIRST!
where is the food court location?
Bottom level of the Glen shopping centre. Same level as Coles.
@@LocalEaters Just a tip, you haven't mentioned the actual suburb yet
I watched until the end - you haven’t made it to the upstairs food court.
Yes next time I'll go up to the actual food court 😂
Box Hill is far better
Rougamo... strange way to spell it, should be RouJiaMo (肉夹馍). But yes, they're delicious. Xian-style bun. Juicy slow-cooked pulled meat in a soft bun。Pronunciation is row jar more
Thankyou! Definitely one of the best little eats that I've had.
You have totally missed the food court on level 1 of the shopping centre😮
I know! Will go back for an explore upstairs
You missed the actual food court upstairs where D1 is...
I know haha 🤣 next time.
You missed the main "actual" Food Court upstairs.
Yes this is more of a food street/level 😀
Most expensive food courts in Melbourne u ment to say lol.
😂
If you are gluten free, not so many options tho. Asians forget about gf.
I'll look out for some gf options next time
No alcohol? Typical police state australia
😂😂😂
Most of the restaurants outside the Glen have alcohol, but it's like $10 for a small beer and $20 for a cocktail..

Go on love! make the vlog then!
The Glen also has a huge Asian population in the area so it’s probably going to be predominantly Asian influenced.
