      Obstacle: Attitude that eating healthy food and doing exercise is punishment for not looking super slim in the first place.
      Solution: Clear realisation that this is the case. Just bringing this attitude to the light will change things as it’s so clear that it’s not a nourishing one. Then gradually changing inner talk towards that “punished” part of you to a more nourishing and forgiving one.

      Anna annanymous there’s nothing wrong with losing weight if it’s medically necessary but such an emphasis on weight is leading to more and more people having a messed up relationship with their bodies (hating them, revolving their worth around their body and looks, etc) and with food (punishing themselves with starvation, hating food, etc) and that also leads to eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, and just terrible mental health. so finding goals other than losing weight is very beneficial for a lot of people like me, someone who’s in recovery from an eating disorder that almost killed me.

    • @noamjosh
      @noamjosh 5 років тому +5

      @Anna annanymous no such thing as "good" or "bad" weight, it changes depends on the person and the environment.

    • @Alyssa-yy9su
      @Alyssa-yy9su 5 років тому +3

      Anna annanymous lower weights don’t immediately indicate health or being healthier than someone at a higher weigh. Put two people with a higher and lower weight next to each other and guess what? you can’t assume the one with a lower weight is healthier. the person with a lower weight could be anorexic, have thyroid issues, have any medical disorder that would keep them at a lower weight. Of course, morbidly obese people and super underweight people are not going to be healthy, but that’s because they’re extremes. as long as you’re exercising, eating well, and doing well, and you’re medically sound, weight doesn’t matter.

      @Anna annanymous Suprised to see such a hateful message on this channel. You may be right that way too many people are overweight and it's causing trouble. However, how do you think you're helping with the way you communicate? I myself lost around 20 kg, but I could only do so out of a place of love and respect, or I would have never broken the binging cycle and would probably still hate myself today, even at my "ideal" weight, because I wouldn't have stopped the negative thinking pattern.
      Most people aren't lazy. Life is complex, creating new habits is hard, and highly palatable food can be addicting and hard to get away from. If you really wanted to be helpful, you'd be sharing resources like James' Clear "Atomic Habits" and encouraging people. But you seem to be here to blow off steam and verbally spit people in the face. Is this how you would talk to a friend? Think about the person behind the screen.

    Your video is so down to earth. I always made the excuse that I couldnt eat healthy because I dont have a real income (college student) and that I dont have time (classes + studying = a tired student). Applying your researching method, I found more affordable and healthier grocery chains in my city. Aldi and Lidl legit cut off 20-30 dollars off my normal bill at Walmart or Kroger. That being said I have been able to incorporate so many things I never would have. I eat SALAD everyday now. I make homestyle pizza (with Naan and lots of veggies). I have an addiction to butternut squash soup. Now I'm not Vegan/vegetarian, but I'm surprised with how much less meat I'm eating now (especially red meats). I know that's not a goal for everybody but I have an appreciation for meats now because it's not the main component of every meal.
    I wish I had seen this video earlier to get ahead of the game. But I'm super content with Sadia and love her positivity. Anything is really doable and she confirmed my suspicions. It's not easy at first and I made alot of mistakes, but that's how we learn and make better choices! Loved this video!!!

    I just want to thank you for this motivation. For me it is much less about the over eating and the eating of non-healthy items, but instead is just about eating in general. Most days I don't have the motivation or energy needed to make myself food and I get discouraged when I feel like I can't do it perfectly. Thank you so so so much for how calmly and warmly you give the invitation to eat healthy! So many times videos about taking care of yourself can seem like more work, or more lessons to learn instead of simplifying the process. With yours I left feeling encouraged and more peaceful about trying to eat healthy. You rock girl!

    Your timing is always magic. 1 obstacle for me is overeating at night because I put off eating dinner till late, so I have something light and snack...Then the snacking doesn't stop! So I am currently working on cooking healthy filling meals BEFORE I am hungry (I am a frequent hangry cook) and having my dinner a little earlier so I am still feeling full (but not stuffed) by the time I go to sleep. It's been almost creating a meal prep schedule for myself! When I have my meals at certain times, I seek that my pesky overeating habits never take place!

    Seriously this is one of the best videos I've seen so far on this topic. Your tips are all thoughtfull and wholesome and, most importantly, close to reality. I needed so many years to figure out why the usual tips like "track your calories, surround yourself with fruits" didn't work for me. My inner perfectionist was blocking me the entire time because I thought it's only gonna be useful if I eat healthy every day every meal, and of course I couldn't do this from the start. Now I have the mindset that every healthy meal is a win, and I've become waaaay better at keeping up.
    Also, on a side note, your videos are full of soft encouragement and honestly this motivates me so much more than the guilt trips other books and videos had put me trough. Thank you so much for all of this!

    This was such a perfectly timed and communicated message to hear. As someone in recovery, your emphasis on health and positive outlook regarding food as well as the mental and social aspects, always gives me cause to stop and be patient with myself,be mindful of the choices around me and remember my support systems. As you say, Teamwork makes the dream work. Thanks for this vid✅🤗💚

    I really enjoy that you are combining nutrition with other life skills and advice. So often we become focused on only one category of our lives and try to heal or perfect it without the consideration of ourselves as a whole and complex being. I agree, the tendency to focus on numbers on a scale or caloric intake can be very dangerous or at least derailing of our goals for obtaining optimal health.

    Sadia you are incredibly inspiring. I am very grateful for your channel and your motivation to help others in their health journey, and every time I watch a clip from your studio or house or being out in nature, I can't help but feel motivated to put more effort into life. I'm not a complete couch potato, but I do get discouraged super easily. Your channel is one of only a few that help me to stay balanced on the tightrope of life. Thank you.

    Super helpful ! I find that my motivation often comes in waves, like there are times when all I want to eat is fresh fruits and vegs + work out like crazy and there are times where all I want to eat is junk food and do nothing. These periods don't last long as my body eventually starts wanting something healthier (that's why I'm ok with listening to my cravings for a little while) but I just wish I could find more of a balance and not be so extreme all the time. Your channel is a great help !

    I love the creators of this channel! Just discovered you guys and hands down this video hits every mark and excuse that I've been making for myself as to why I am not eating healthy (ie. too expensive, no time, etc). Thank you for providing such an in depth pdf for us and showcasing our struggles in a way that allows us to realize it ourselves and to instead focus our time and energy on the positive changes we can bring into our own lives. By mentioning the problems and offering tons of solutions really allows us viewers to take the advice to heart. Love the thought, quality, and time everyone has put into making this video!

    Obstacle - Never quite feeling satisfied. Solution - Adding a little more Salad-Fruits-Grains to the meal. The BIG obstacle

    Obstacle: loss of motivation to meal prep
    Solution: eating out, but choosing the veggie or vegan option, and choosing veggies as a side instead of fried sides.
    I'm hoping to get back into it after I download your PDF though! Thanks for sharing these amazing tips!

    This video couldn't be more on time! Three years ago I was in my best shape ever; I was eating plant based and running 6 miles a day... then my mother died and all hell broke lose. The grief and pain made me loose all care... and I ballooned up to 214 pounds. I am now back trying to regain my health, slowly going back to plant based and I am running 1.50 miles a day, but sometimes I need some reinforcement... thank you for your support and advice.

    Wow, this video is so amazing!! I already gained a relatively balanced attitude towards healthy eating through your videos because you sometimes dropped advice concerning the motivation. But this video just nailed it!! I really can see that you must have been so good at your old job but now you managed to abstract what you learned so that everyone here on UA-cam can profit without you knowing us all. You have amazing recipes but you also acknowledge that it's a lot about the hows and whys - that's so valuable. I can't believe how much I grow through your videos even though it's mostly just about the food topic. Such a big thank you ❤
