I saw Megadeth in 85 or 86 in Miami. It was awesome the sound was insane and in a bar on South Beach. I was around 21-22 I'm 50 now and he's still rockin.

Dave did not invent _thrash_ ... He does know how to do it. Canadian thrash scene was breaking out even in the late 70's, about the same time Slayer was still jamming out in a garage. I would say Black Sabbath was the biggest motivator, and it really took off in London, first.
1992 was a great year. And yeah, I didn't get CTE at first, either....but it, too, grew on me. When I hear Symphony of Destruction, it brings me RIGHT back that era more than just about anything else. Good times.
