    Thanks, Jeremy. I own this keyboard and love it. Your review is spot on. I would add one shortcoming -- and it is something you already covered in a different review of the PX-3000 -- and that is that you can't name the registrations. So when you want to get to your killer distorted and layered slapback echo guitar patch split with bass, you have to remember that it is stored in "Bank 16, Area 3." Ridiculous!

    An excellent and balanced review Jeremy (as always). I purchased one of these some time back for what was going to be a regular commitment. That fell through and now it's surplus to requirements. But as you essentially say, it's virtues outweigh its shortcomings and it's a near-perfect choice for many musical needs. Too much has been made by some others of the problem of the short key length and playing up between the black notes (the key length for the player is standard, the shortness is inside, at the pivot). For someone who wants something for serious classical playing, this can be a real problem, but for all other purposes, particularly for gigging, this factor is insignificant, as your playing here demonstrates. Set-up can be fiddly, but being able to store around 100 settings, this issue is resolved.

      Always warms my heart hearing from you, my dear friend. I hope you guys have things under control in Melbourne. News channels are reporting a new surge in cases?
      You are right! The PX-S3000 really tick many boxes when I bring it to play for home cell group worship. I usually wouldn't know which other musician would turn up until the very minute I step into the door and the features of the PX-S has saved me quite a number of times. 🙂
      Warmest,
      Jeremy

      @@JeremySee Thanks Jeremy my friend. My reason for buying the PX-S3000 was also for a church activity - a projected series of regular events that never got off the ground. And thank you for your concerns about the virus situation here. Although the numbers (in terms of %age) are small compared to places like the US and UK, they are very significant and not dropping - mainly due, now, to the stupidity of a small number of people, stupidity leading to fatalities.

    I'm planning to upgrade to a new digital piano but I'm not sure rather to go with casio CDP-S350 or Px-s3000. I'm going with casio partly because of the fact they have guitar tones my only thing is I can't find a video online that gos deep into the tones and shows some of the guitar tones. Would be nice to hear a comparison between the two. I do like the gloss on the px-s3000 I'm already very OCD so getting things like finger prints isn't a issue

    Jeremy I would love to take your course but first I need your advise on one of the instruments listed below. You did not mention Kawai but I have a Kawai as two of my selections. I know the Kawai CA 59 is out of your area of expertise, but I trust your knowledge. Here are my choices and priorities:
    All are 88 key
    Kawai ES920 or CA59
    Korg Grandstage
    Korg svs, sv2sp
    Other information that will help:
    * I am at a beginner level
    * I am 67 years old
    * I am limited to 30-40 minutes practice daily
    * $ is not an issue
    My priorities:
    * Ease of use to learn to play the instrument
    * Sounds, Piano & Electric Piano 95%
    * Probably only play in bedroom because I am handicapped
    * Keyboard action
    * Flash Drive, Ability to connect to IPad to work with Apps, if possible have Bluetooth midi and audio.
    PLUS ANY OTHER MODEL YOU WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE FOR ME. I DO NOT WANT TO BE SELFISH WITH YOUR TIME, BUT I AM HANDICAPPED TO THE EXTENTI CANNOT LEAVE MY HOME. I SPEND 90% OF MY TIME IN BED. I DESPERATELY NEED AN ACTIVITY TO KEEP MIND ALERT.
    Thank you,
    Glenn Allen

    One thing I noticed from this video is that the control button lights are flashing in the video. This means that the refresh/scan rate of the buttons is near the video refresh rate which is somewhere between 25 -60 Hz. You won't see this with your own eyes, but it shows up in the video. So is this a problem? Maybe not, unless you are planning to use this keyboard a lot in your UA-cam videos, because then the flashing lights will show. The lcd display has a much higher refresh rate because you don't see that one flashing in the video.
