  • A leader and team's Emotional Intelligence is directly correlated with performance. We all make decisions based on emotions and we need to manage them consciously if we want to achieve the right results. Gemma discusses how managers need to create opportunities for communication, and build the right space for colleagues to share their emotions. Gemma is a financial services expert and the former CEO of Gescobro where she worked for 14 years. She currently works as an emotional intelligence consultant for companies that want to develop the emotional intelligence of their leaders and teams. She has founded "Instituto de Inteligencia Emocional" to guide organisations through these culture transformation projects. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    I'm in complete admiration of this. I recently stumbled upon something with a similar message, and it was absolutely mesmerizing. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint

    From Gemma's TEDx talk, I've learned about the critical role of emotional intelligence in leadership and team performance. Her insights emphasize the importance of acknowledging and managing emotions consciously to achieve positive outcomes. I appreciate her emphasis on creating spaces for open communication and fostering a supportive environment where colleagues can share their emotions. Gemma's experience as a financial services expert and CEO adds credibility to her message, highlighting the practical application of emotional intelligence in real-world settings. Her work as an emotional intelligence consultant and the establishment of the "Instituto de Inteligencia Emocional" demonstrate her commitment to guiding organizations through meaningful cultural transformation projects. Overall, I found her talk informative, insightful, and relevant in today's workplace dynamics.

    what she said is right, when your superiors are understanding person, and they listen to you attentively, certainly, you would appreciate what you have in the organization. This in turn, will create a positive atmosphere in the workplace. Does it something that we are looking for? another thing is that, i am also amazed by the statement that , in positive environment, people can change their motives from competitive to collaborate, which I found brilliant.

      The term "emotional intelligence" sometimes causes leaders to overlook this set of critical skills. I'm glad to see this coming more into the discussion.

    I connect more with this subject of emotional intelligence when I listen to women speak about it than men, why

    • @rosharizaharis1399
      @rosharizaharis1399 4 роки тому +2

      it is a fact that women are by far more emotional than man..they are more empathetic and understanding, furthermore, they are also sensitive to others, and know their emotional needs. on the other hand, man, using more logic and thinking rather than their emotion. So, I firmly believe that, women are more suitable to talk about this topic because it is so closed to their nature, therefore they can talk about it with a great ease.

    she is so slow and boring, I had initially thought the fried egg was going to be an interesting analogy only to find out she knew how to fry an egg and it was while frying an egg she realised she was working too hard. Good try but you need to practise story telling.

      She did her best. She is likely Spanish. English is second language for her.
      I appreciate her composure in front of an audience using a second language.
      She believes in herself.
      She is really emotionally intelligent.
