- As sim racing has continued to grow, it has also gotten more sophisticated with endless products becoming available to drive with.
We have also seen some of our peripherals become more mainstream and this includes shifter and handbrakes becoming quite normal for sim racing.
Thrustmaster has created a dual purpose handbrake/shifter for sim racing. Are you a drifter, or is rallycar your favorite discipline of sim racing? If so, then you need a handbrake.
The TSS Handbrake Sparco mod by Thrustmaster brings the iconic racing brand Sparco into the action for a medium to high end Handbrake. It can also be converted into a sequential shifter for the all in one solution to sideways driving.

I think the paint damage was caused by him mounting the handbreak in that offset angle from his seating position. If you mount it like that you will allways unintentionally pull it to much to the side.

It’s really cool looking but way to expensive for what it is. I like the idea of a H-pattern sequential combo better then a sequential hand brake combo. You’ll never need to use an H pattern and a sequential at the same time but you will want to use a sequential and handbrake at the same time.

I have the TSS Handbrake Sparco mod + for my Xbox One in addition to the new TM SimHub that allows me to connect up to 4 peripherals to the Thrustmaster base ... and I tell you that my experience has changed completely thanks to this product ... it's always good to see your review for being so detailed ... thanks for that ... I got a complete tutorial in my channel but is in Spanish....so if u have any question Im very glad to answer...an advice ... when you connect a th8a and the TSS in progressive hand brake always lowers the two safe in handbrake mode because you accidentally leave the front in sequential is out of control since you are receiving 2 different change commands .. .I happen to be changing it in a hurry and leaving it in sequential mode.
@@FastpitGaming i play mostly assetto corsa, will the tss be registered and assigned to the handbrake automaticaly or will I have to change it myself in the game options? Tnx for the tip

This makes an amazing shifter
The shift can move side to side when the pivot screw comes lose, a quick check every now and then is the go or if ya keen a bit of loctite will fix it.
I wonder could Mod stand for “model” not “modified” also Shaun if you could get ricmotec to send you the sequential plate for th8a I love mine.
I just sold mine. To upgrade to a Fanatec. The sequential change over is sometimes not worth the time.
So if I don't have the + version do I just need a cable to get it work on PS4?

Okay people i have it for few months now at first works great after a while using it the lever gets loose due to the spring tensor inside , there is now way to correct this only option is to open the upper part and tighten the bolt again to get the tension back this would happen again and again and again no solution unless you strip down the part and i won’t do that since this thing is still new only few months using it

With the TSS+, how would you plug it into the TX at the same time as the TH8A shifter as the TX only has one DIN plug?

You can probably map a function to it.
Not made for helicopter sim! its called shifter for a reason.
Looking for mounting options/advice for RS1 chassis. I would like to mount both the TSS and TH8A.
I have the N1 shifter/handbrake mount on my rs1. It accommodates both quite nicely. You may want to go that route?

Hmm I’d rather go with the Fanatec handbrake and separate shifter so you can get that accurate rally cross experience

TheSco415city Yes, my buddy has one and said it works on the PS4 but it has to be be plugged directly into your Thrustmaster wheel base though. I modded my TH8A with springs to use as a handbrake or a manual shifter and it only takes about 15 seconds to switch between handbrake or shifter. No need to switch out the sequential base plate. Click on my name and you’ll see it on my sim rig video.
