@ReubsModifications hey man I have another question aswell. For the PCV being routed to the intake, do you know if the reason for this is to lubricate the front impeller, even though the bearings are lubricated the other way. Just wanting to know this so I know it would be appropriate to put a catch can on. Thanks
The PCV isn't for lubrication it is for crankcase ventilation, it is routed to the intake to put vacuum on the ventilation to pull it through. A catch can is appropriate but the routing of hoses must remain the same otherwise seals can be pushed out of the engine.
@@joshuaanderson7158 nope needs to go back to the intake otherwise there’s too much pressure in the system and will blow out oil seals. I vented my PCV to atmosphere through a filter and I blew out the injector seals in the head. It needs the vacuum from the turbo to help pull the gasses through.
Thanks for the vid mate, nice rig. Border Automotive do great tunes. Oh and you can buy upgraded turbos for the d22 zd30. Mines a CCT high flow billet with an extra blade on the impeller. Works well with the snorkel, 3” exhaust, intercooler and BAET tune.
HPD Catch-cans simply don't come close to a Pro-Vent. Suggest you look at compression clamps instead of crappy worm-drive hose clamps. Not sure how you can drive at night with those pair of spot-lights facing you.
I haven't looked into the different brands of catch cans I just found one for a good price but it still catches oil. Haven't had any issues with the hose clamps on my pcv set up but I do want different ones for my intercooler as the worm drive isn't enough. And I assume you're talking about the gauges and they are a little bright but you do get used to it pretty quick.
@@ReubsModifications Yeah, wait till you run a ProVent and figure out how much oil is getting past the HPD one. Thanks for the video, some really good tips in there. Did you attach your egt sensor probe to one of the egr blanking plates? Or to the exhaust itself? Bit of debate online as to where the best place is to put it, if it’s attached to the dump pipe your temps can be out by 100-200 degrees which is dangerous. Seen some guys weld a bung to the top egr plate which gives a more accurate reading. Cheers
Thanks mate and just like you’ve said. I was a little unsure about putting the probe in the dump so I figured if I took the temp from where it is the highest I would be safer. Mines in the exhaust manifold where the EGR crossover pipe would be 👍🏻
