This video is a couple of months old by now, but I have to commend you on how masterfully you maneuvered that last match. Correctly predicting both the board wipe and the planeswalker, even opting not to attack with Sheoldred was beautiful to see. As always, you are clever, resourceful and a sheer joy to watch!
Thank you for putting up an image of a card you're mentioning that isn't on the field like when you said Braids could sacrifice the scamp. It's very helpful
Gumdrop poisoner is one of my favorite cards to come out this year. Combining her with not dead after all leads trades with 4 or 5 drop creatures. Very interesting card when built around in an aggro/midrange deck, which I think she fits in best
@@bakarogers7146 the Poisoner already has Lifelink. marcusramirez8181 is blocking with the Poisoner, gaining life from the combat damage, then reanimating it to finish off a bigger enemy
@@bakarogers7146I think he refers to being able to kill the creature when poisoner returns since it already has lifelink its 3 damage from combat plus -3/-3.
Great deck. I tried to go direction of an Orzhov lifegain deck similar to this list, but using Voiced of the Blessed. Miserable on the current ladder. Needed more removal and interaction as you have done here. Just not time for +1/+1 growing creatures, unless built into an aggro deck that can get in the damage same turn.
Why no Virtue of Persistence in this deck? Sounds to me like an already proved-to-be-great new black card with built-in lifegain. (I couldn't listen to the video sorry if you addressed it)
Tried it at some point, but wanted my 2 cmc removal to deal with Sheoldred more efficiently. We're also light on creatures ourselves to get back with the enchantment half of it, so against control it's not always effective considering they pack a lot of answers that exile our creatures. Virtue of Persistence is a little more effective if the deck has some self-mill or discard elements.
If I remember it ETBs as a tapped land, so thats it's summoning sickness so to speak, from that point on its on the battlefield even though its just a land. The real catch is not accidentally using it for mana after you turned it into a land. I've noobed that a few times.
Not sure if you’d like it but it’s spookey season so if you get the chance watch “The Rolling Giant” This is in no way related to mtg just watched it tho and thought it was great you don’t really have to watch part 1-2 just watch the 3rd one which is “The Rolling Giant”
As long as you respect monored in deck building it’s not that hard to beat. Consistently beating it when they’re on the play with Kumano is a different story 😅
You follow Sonio, don't you, Lucas? 😊 Yes, this works well against aggro, but midrange and control in the copper through silver ranks requires a heavier hand. You need more hand disruption, and flashier finishers. Everyone plays mono-red/white at some point. Testers play jank. Play some more explorer over standard on ladder, theres way, way to many combos unexplored in older formats

"Turns" evil? It was always Satan manifest! ;)
Jokes aside, thanks for the regular, high-quality content. You are the only MTG creator I watch daily.

Return to Action is the reanimation trick that gives lifelink, Not Dead After All only gives a wicked role
@@bakarogers7146 actually poisoner naturally has lifelink, so the lower cost and extra boost of wicked makes ndaa better imo

thats...a good point actually. didn't think about that, lol
Your thumbnail pic is genuinely disturbing. Kudos.
agreed, other mtg channel can only use their poorly edited face as thumbnail
Love the thumbnail for this video!
Man you are amazing. Your explanations are beyond amazing.
Please oh please. Play Jund Mid-range next.
These vids are always good glad to see that the new titles are working
amazing to see orzhov again :)
I love Orzhov. My favorite color combo.
You know what they say: "When lifegain gives you lemons, squeeze them into your opponent's eyes."

yay, orzhov! always love to see black white decks.
Unreal that farewell is still in standard
Agreed. Unreal that WotC extended standard to a three year rotation. What the actual eff are they thinking?
Love it!
I love this, but if I wanted to turn this into a esper deck, even if just splashing blue for one or two cards, what would you recommend I cut/add
Glorious.
Nice work!!
I love you LVD
Just a little bit of lifegain is so insidiously good against aggro decks.
Orzhov is the new Mono black 🌝
Bruh that thumbnail is gonna haunt me 😂😂
Nice
May I ask you to return previous naming style? May be in brackets?

@@LegenVD Oh I see. Great. Thanks you're a legend!
Why can restless fortress attack the same turn it got turned into a creature? Shouldn't it have summoning sickness?
It doesn’t get to attack right away.

My man
Turns evil? Lifegain has ALWAYS been evil!! 😈😂😝
20:30 you still have the second Emperor so that play would end terribly for them, no?
Depends on if we give it first strike before regular damage or not I suppose.
Rowan's Grim Search doesn't seem all that great. What do you think about Phyrexian Arena instead?
It can go in the same slot, although I’ve found it to often be too slow at generating card advantage, most games don’t go that long.
surely the deck should pay Dennick
Adding a color is a pretty big cost!
You make better decks than CGB.
Lifegain is always evil
Trelasara *shivers*
Sheoldred makes any deck evil
I run 2 Destroy Evil & 2 black Virtue over Rowan & Edict. I'm happy against anything not Superfriends.

Looks like a deck inspired by someone tired of losing to RDW all day!

all these aggro decks overextending against a monoblack deck because they need to end the game before sheodred is casted

Don’t really have time to follow other creators, but I’m probably not the first person to put these cards together!
Meh, Sheoldred. Tired of the card.
Yeah another boring ass sheoldred deck. i'll pass
Sheoldred didn't show up much in these games, but you do you!
She's a good card, the reason you hate her is probably the reason it's put on so many of these top quality decks
Losing mindset
