Okay I think it's safe to say that Luca's favorite ability in magic is playing cards off the top of the library xD Awesome deck as usual man! Appreciate you tons!
Also something I've noticed for awhile now, but I love that you do those little rapid clicks on an empty space on the board while you're thinking out loud because I do the exact same thing! xD
I think it’s an Abzan control list that was played by CovertGoBlue recently, so it’s more popular right now cause of that, but I agree it’s definitely a frustrating deck to play against
specifically white suns and sunfall, like why are we stapling a wincon to a board sweeper, just encourages players to play removal and counters until you hit your sweepers that will win you the game, like those decks have no identity whatsoever
@@lesternomo6578 They want profit. Unfortunately those cards sell like water bottles in the desert. I hate those archetypes. Makes me think why don't we have a restriction list already, just to reduce the amount of copies we can use for some key cards.
48:45 No joke, I honestly thought this was so funny that I paused the video and finally went and subscribed on Patreon. Really though, your videos get everything right imo, and I think the mtg community benefits a ton from having you as a content creator. Thanks for all of the videos and decks, and I hope that you have a nice day, too!
I'll say it over and over again. The amount of removal in this game has killed creature heavy decks. I feel like it is part of what makes mono red so popular. It's one of the few decks that can win before the sweepers come in that all control decks run.
Paying 3 mana for a 1/1 is pretty rough in a meta defined by monored aggro. It's just a little too slow at what it does, even if both abilities are desirable.
immensely satisfying watching someone with that much removal and boardwipes still lose. Absolutely horrible to play against when you run into that and you don't have the out.
I am always in awe when Luca sees 2 lands and has the entire strategy of the oppo figured out. Or is this just because there are only meta decks at that level?
Most people on arena (I say most because I don't want to generalize) run the same decks. There's really only 5-7 different decks I see everyday... Mono red and mono white soldiers being the main ones.
even though there is a meta, Luca is truly next level in his thought process. you can play the same decks as him but he pilots it just that much better and gets so much more wins
Typically in 60 card formats that are "solved" you can guess based on specific lands. For example, the black green creature land is primarily used as a win con for g/b mid ranged decks since the player was also using white which is typically abnormal for the current meta to run abzan (white black green) he was probably gonna run all the removal spells and use the creature lands to grind down the opponent. Once you've played long enough you kind of just know the most played cards.
@clon1122 it just feels like all the creativity that I so enjoyed when I played is lost. People just see what someone else came up with that works well and copy it until someone else makes a counter to that strategy... so...soulless.
What would you cut though? He made it to be mostly creatures, ascendancy might not effect the board enough with fewer creatures. Katilda’s ability is pretty nuts late game
I saw a loooot of mono red mirror matches when I was grinding it for a bit. If there is any matchmaking mechanic related to it then it isn't very aggressive.
Katilda really had one hell of a day this one game, beeing repeatedly summoned, killed, exiled, freed from exile, resurected...

Yeah! On the Meria Artifacts video (ua-cam.com/video/z7uBD9gRQ4Y/v-deo.html) he says that he has a soft spot for playing speels of the top of his deck
Some friendly MTG banter at the end of Match 6:
LVD: "Good Game."
Opponent: "Scry: 1 top, 0 bottom."
I laughed more than I probably should have... Considering I'm at work lol
Good job sir (y)
Admit it, you just love any excuse to use “play off the top” cards. 😁
I build entire commander decks just so I can play off the top lol, it feels amazing. ( Galea, Errant and Giada, Plargg and Nassari )
It’s called “card advantage”
@@honestabe411UHHMMM AKSHUALLY
@@sniff494 I like arena because I can play magic without physically interacting with people like you. Yes card advantage is why I win a lot
They provide a lot of value
The machine gun noise of the +1/+1 counters being placed is just music to my ears! 😊

That first deck you went against looked so annoying and would be so boring to play with. Sheesh. Glad you got the win!

there are way too many good white sweepers in standard atm. why are we giving sweepers upside?!
specifically white suns and sunfall, like why are we stapling a wincon to a board sweeper, just encourages players to play removal and counters until you hit your sweepers that will win you the game, like those decks have no identity whatsoever
That's CGB's deck. It's my worst nightmare. It's like you're playing against "boardclear tribal".

Nice deck, but the thumbnail really scared me 😂

Brawler is my favorite motm card so happy to find this video.
Love this deck. My fav 2 colours 😊
I think Torrens would also work nicely in this deck since he would provide even more training triggers, plus humans for Katilda 🙂
Definitely fun when it goes off!
Awesome work as always. Love the content. Thanks.
Spoopy thumbnail for the spoopiest month
the faces in thumbnails have been noticed
Man, the amount of sweeper cards in this game is crazy.

Nice deck! Did you consider Kami of Whispered Hopes?
Yes
Wowo 1 min upload. Perfect while i have soup and getting ready for work.
Botanical Brawler most underrated card in mtg! One of my favorite and principal in my selesnya Scales modern
Sheesh when that third Loyalty dropped on that first game… even with just two, it really kept you peddling but the third sealed it!
Do you have an update for this deck? One of my favorites of all time!
21:47 love this!
Hey LVD! Do you do your own thumbnails? Or do you commission them? They are great!
Thanks! Do them myself.
They did not see it coming apparently 😂😂😂
It’s just so funny😂
is kami of whispered hopes not great for this deck? it doubles all your sources of counters, ramps, and it a creature itself

what was that first deck? removal tribal?

"Apparently they (Mono-Red) did not see that coming"....PFFT like Mono-Red reads opponents' cards.
you meant to say " like mono red reads.", right ?

More like a showcase for duelist and the virtue
Virtue is the main way to go brrr with Brawler!
Cauldron belongs in this deck
Would play Ozolith before I would play Cauldron.

Any mono green standard or some kind of food theme for explorer? Maybe blue green with goose mother?

Would splashing blue for Brokers Ascendancy make the mana base too unreliable?
