Akainu has my favorite power in One Piece. Characters who use magma as their main form of attack are few and far between, and frankly his magma is animated beautifully.

I doubt he surpasses Big Mom, or at least by a wide margin. Big Mom has displayed far superior haki feats, both showed incredible stamina and BM has shown slightly better durability feats. Kidd and Law defeated her by default due to disabling her usage of her homies, dropping her forcibly deep underground with BM still battle-ready. Even the island-sized explosion did more damage to her. If BM and Kaido somehow survived being trapped under lava then I think this will give her an edge over Akainu.
I think luffy will fight akainu for a while having an upperhand with g5 but other admirals or seraphims or px5s show up giving luffy a disadvantage but then sabo shows up to help
the narrative shows that Luffy will probably defeat Akainu towards the end of one piece but I truly believe he is about as strong as Kaido and could probably beat a G5 luffy in a 1 on 1. I don't powerscale akainu with aokiji because Oda tends to scale strength based on how well a character is following their dreams, and while Akainu has fulfilled his dreams of rising up through the navy and becoming Fleet Admiral, Aokiji has lost his way and decided to join up with pirates just for convenience.
Great video. It's also worth reminding that Oda mentioned in an SBS that if Akainu was the protagonist of One Piece, he would be way too broken and reach Laugh Tale in less than a year. There's a theory that Laugh Tale is in the center of the earth - therefore his magma fruit would make it much easier for him to find it - but even if that were to be true it speaks volumes to how strong Akainu is. More on the magma fruit - I think that fruit is one of the legendary fruits of One Piece - one of its previous wielders is probably responsible for creating the Red Line. I would call it a "world shaping fruit". Furthermore we can readily assume that Akainu has acoc since he has the ambition and will of a conqueror (fleet admiral) and is a haki veteran training at the highest level for decades. I agree with your placing him in the top 5 and I'm happy you mentioned Dragon, I believe he also has to be incredibly strong as he is currently in prime age (if we think about prime Garp and how strong Luffy will be once he becomes Pirate King, that's essentially Dragon now). One character I can't wait to learn more about is Kong; he is surely past his prime now but fleet admiral Kong in his prime was probably an absolute menace. We know way too little about him.
I like to think that people's fates are intertwined with scars in the series. Kaido & Oden, Shanks & BB, Zoro & Mihawk, and finally Luffy and Sakazuki. Considering these would all be EOS matchups, it would make sense for Akainu to be the strongest opponent he's faced.
Luffy's strongest opponent is prob Imu or Blackbeard. Akainu is close 3rd just bc he doesnt have the same goal as luffy like Blackbeard n Imu is the one controlling the world who prob needs to be defeated in order for Luffy to fulfill his dream. I don't see Akainu being stronger than Blackbeard who has 2 insanely powerful devil fruits along with a good degree of haki mastery.

I donno how strong he is, but He's the Fleet Admiral. Previous fleet admiral rivalled the Pirate king. Luffy would surpass Roger and become the Pirate king, so if we go with that logic, Current Akainu would be around Prime Garp level. By the EOS, he would surpass Prime Garp. Sengoku did NOT rival the pirate king, though he was powerful enough to give Roger a very good fight and strong enough to make WB take him very seriously at Marineford. Sakazuki by all accounts probably has to be slightly above peak Sengoku though, which brings him to the point of Roger/peak WB only winning extreme diff.

Man fought an Ace fresh out of lvl 6 impel down (after being beat, tortured, and starved). Ace could have used his logia and haki to avoid lethal damage but Luffy would have got hit. He didn't straight up walk up to Ace and put a hole through him. Though I do think if Ace was at full power he would wouldn't have beat Akainu but I don't think he's getting low diff. I think current Akainu is strong I think he's in the #6-7 range current fighters post time skip and 8-10 range pre time skip. I think he is currently stronger than BB, Luffy, and Big Mom.

it's stated that the admirals are the strongest individuals in the world government/navy so yes. they're above sengoku and garp that current moment, doesn't mean they won't put up a good fight though. akainu was tanking island level attacks and you would need to be capable of fighting for 10+ days too have a chance at beating him. with garp though i wouldn't be surprised if he would've been able to do some serious damage to akainu who would've been distracted and in his prime he was breaking 8 mountains as punching bags to warm up his fists, and messed up a continent splitters head. but akainu or any admiral were still stronger. just to also end the debate old whitebeard was the strongest yonko aswell so he was over kaidou,bigmom and shanks at marienford this is shown in the story too, so if they can compete with him and troll him, they should be able to put up a good fight against the weaker yonko's and potentially defeat them. no yonko to date has shown punk hazard (akainu vs aokiji feats and being able to fight that long and change an island forever)
At this point it doesn't really matter what whitebeard or Garp fans say. The way Oda handles him (Akainu) is enough validation within itself. The fact that Oda is reserving him as an Endgame Player is proof that he's clearly one of the baddest pieces on the board next to Shanks and Dragon.. just waiting to make a move.

I put a fair amount of money into the Akainu stocks now that their pretty cheap. He’s gonna pop off and his stocks are gonna go crazy. Remember he fought and defeated Aokiji after 10 days of battle. Remember what Rayleigh said, “The best way to improve your haki is to fight strong opponents.” I can only imagine how much stronger Akainu must’ve gotten.
Honestly it is true that there is a plethora of evidence that Akainu is easily the strongest Admiral at least as far as destructive capability. He faired pretty well against an enraged Whitebeard attacking him from behind. Even if he's an old sick and injured Whitebeard he was still clearly Yonko level so that tells me even pre timeskip he's actually pretty close to if not on the lower end of Yonko level. I think Akainu is crazy strong I don't think he was beating Old Sick WB but he can fight him and give him a good/great battle. Akainu pre-TS was on par with an old, sick Whitebeard, which is probably slightly below Kaido and Shanks and noticeably below WB at his peak. Post TS I believe Sakazuki is on the same level as Kaido, or maybe even very slightly above Kaido, maybe equal to Shanks, but probably still less than Roger.

The way I see it Akainu didn't fight Shanks because he was nearly beaten an inch from his life fighting whitebeard. Old whitebeard was clearly weaker than Kaido or Shanks. Not being able to use his tremendous haki weakens him severely to top tier one piece characters. Haki is more important in a fight than devik fruits are as told by Kaido with one of the most powerful mythological zoan fruit. If whitebeard was able to use conqueror's haki, Akainu wudve died by whitebeard's sneak attack. Also, he only held the "strongest" title bc the world government was not aware of him being sick. Even crocodile pointed out how weak Whitebeard had gotten. Big Mom beats Whitebeard with high diff due to her healthy usage of her haki. I like to think that people's fates are intertwined with scars in the series. Kaido & Oden, Shanks & BB, Zoro & Mihawk, and finally Luffy and Sakazuki. Considering these would all be EOS matchups, it would make sense for Akainu to be the strongest opponent he's faced.

Luffy's strongest opponent is prob Imu or Blackbeard. Akainu is close 3rd just bc he doesnt have the same goal as luffy like Blackbeard n Imu is the one controlling the world who prob needs to be defeated in order for Luffy to fulfill his dream. Sengoku did NOT rival the pirate king, though he was powerful enough to give Roger a very good fight and strong enough to make WB take him very seriously at Marineford.

Man fought an Ace fresh out of lvl 6 impel down (after being beat, tortured, and starved). Ace could have used his logia and haki to avoid lethal damage but Luffy would have got hit. He didn't straight up walk up to Ace and put a hole through him. Though I do think if Ace was at full power he would wouldn't have beat Akainu but I don't think he's getting low diff. I think current Akainu is strong I think he's in the #6-7 range current fighters post time skip and 8-10 range pre time skip. I think he is currently stronger than BB, Luffy, and Big Mom.

Honestly it is true that there is a plethora of evidence that Akainu is easily the strongest Admiral at least as far as destructive capability. He faired pretty well against an enraged Whitebeard attacking him from behind. Even if he's an old sick and injured Whitebeard he was still clearly Yonko level so that tells me even pre timeskip he's actually pretty close to if not on the lower end of Yonko level.

I think Akainu is crazy strong I don't think he was beating Old Sick WB but he can fight him and give him a good/great battle. They let the anime show/add on to the length of the fights in which they give us in the manga. If the manga fight was actually shown like how they show us in the anime we would have like 40 page chapters. We would probably have bi-weekly or monthly chapters and the artist would be worn out completely.

The way I see it Akainu didn't fight Shanks because he was nearly beaten an inch from his life fighting whitebeard. Why in the absolute holy hell would akainu want to fight a FRESH ready to go shanks immediately afterword in the condition he is in. That is suicide and Akainu knew he wouldn't win. I know Akainu got stronger during the post timeskip but he still hasn't shown any feats after that. Let's just take the example of Old Garp who fought with Kuzan, and Kuzan could be said to be equal to Akainu but he was speedblitzed 2 times and was overpowered by Old Garp when they fought in Hachinosu. Kuzan didn't hold back in the slightest and in fact Garp was the one who was still holding back so that he wouldn't destroy the entire island by releasing his full power + it also endangers Koby and the rest of the marines.
