Every now and then I kept searching for ‘Videocopilot’ or ‘Andrew Kramer’ on FB, Twitter, Reddit etc. to get some news. And suddenly this live video popped up 😂
The actual standards and straight up level of content u present is just so amazing man. Easily the most underrated person in UA-cam, truly believe that. Thank you for this recap!
Thanks for your encouraging words 😊. Well….UA-cam algorithm…..but I guess the majority of the creators except of the very few super talented stellar ones have to go through this.
I remember watching ALL his videos when I started After Effects. But then I found out that I can basically accomplish anything I want to do in After Effects with about 10-12 effects. But it is still nice to know a trick or two - even if you don't use them.
Hello, you've been very inspiring to me these past few weeks. I used to watch Andrew Kramer when I was about 10 years old using my wooden PC, and a webcam, trying to follow the tutorial with my slow af internet back in the day. I used to follow his saber tutorials, head explosion, disentegrate and many more. I do those on a one summer break. But it all faded away when school started eventually. Years went by, I only now do basic editing and stuff using Premiere pro, since I lost my interest in diving deep into after effects and vfx. Which I know requires deep focus to even learn. Maybe, that's why I was hesitant in continuing. Years went by, and I didn't improve one bit in that area. But, these past year, I've began to take interest in 3D, and motion design in particular. Seeing your videos even gave me more courage to pursue this field once again. So thank you~ and hope you keep on doing youtube as you enjoy it!
Thank you for your encouraging words 😊. Glad I could inspired which is one of my motivations to create these videos as I got inspired by others, Andrew Kramer included.
These tips are great, thank you for sharing and explaining in further detail. In tip number 3 with the additional camera movement you could probably avoid precomping the background layer by placing an adjustment layer above it. Adjustment layers break the 3d layer order and your text should be visible even if it would be "behind" your background layer in space.
im back again for your help! do you know how to keep a texture from distorting while transforming a cube? I want to make a wall but when i extend it it warps the texture
Andrew Kramer may be back but videocopilot is on hold for a long time. I don't blame Andrew for chasing his dreams in the VFX world but I have been dreaming of using NEBULA for over 3 years and the decay and scars pack for Element 3D for over 5 years and they still have not been released. I really hope Videocopilot will be back!

Thank you very very much! 😊 Absolutely. Andrew finds ways to solve problems with effects you haven’t considered before. That’s the philosophy I try to adopt.
I didn't know A.K. ever left but it's good to know there will be some new tuts from him out there. Everything I know about AE, I learned from Andrew and Video Copilot.
Thank you. Yeah, that would be nice. At least updates for the existing plugins. Right now I feat that the the ‘Giant’ companies are catching up. Like the new flare tool which is also awesome
Doood! we are now friends. Let me explain. Your version of the number 1 fav, gave me an insight into a technique I was trying to do. Awesome!~ thanks buddy~!
Hi 👋! You mean in technique No. 3? I would say yes, when it’s something like a camera pan shot or tracking something onto a car going from left to right. But I prefer the 3D camera tracker when the real camera is moving into depth 😊
I think your problem solving technique is the most valuable thing in here. The effects are cool but I don’t think I’d ever use them. I’m a big fan of Andrew Kramer as well.
Thank you 😊. Yeah, some of them would be much easier to accomplish in a 3D app. I think that knowing of the existence of these kind of tricks could be useful for me in a future problem situation I don’t know yet.
@@MichaelPonch Yeah when you started to talk about Corner pin and mocha it all went very fast! I think your end result was beautiful! With the white border. I will test this! Do you need an orb around your ”island”? Or could the drone just fly right to left?
The thing with mocha & corner pin…..I explained it a bit better in my Screen Replacement tutorial. Yes, orb is definitely better. I thought the footage before with the green island was technically better and the 3D result was more convincing. But the beach 🏖 was more of my taste 😊. When the footage is better to track you won’t need Mocha & Corner Pin anymore.
It's funny how you show the mess ups, like the cc cylinder not coinciding. The amount of time I've spent with that kind of troubles.. the kind Mr Kramer never seems to run into!! Btw, great techniques!!
do you know how I can track a real person through a 3d room? Ive been looking everywhere and it seems ppl use blender, I dont want to because i figured i can do it with after effects and element 3d by videocopilot. I have a model i want to use

I know, it’s generally explained and fast paced. I planned to make a detailed tutorial ever since. Or Andrew Kramer hopefully comes with a step-by-step tutorial 😂
Thank you 😊. No one knows when it’s coming out. I recently learned that the Stardust Plugin has volumetric rendering. I haven’t had time to take a closer at it but from what I saw it can do similar things.
