- 🇻🇳 Guys, it’s almost Lunar New Year in Vietnam, or “Tet” as the locals call it! This is the time of year where everyone gets ready for a much-needed break after a long year of work. People head back home to their villages, spend time with their families, and enjoy the holiday. For most, this also means making their house look festive with various decorations, trees such as Plum trees and Kumquat trees, and many more traditions! Even though I’ve been in Vietnam almost 4 years I’ve never taken part in it. I decided this year I’d join in the fun. Hope you enjoy!

I have never seen a foreigner alone decorate their house with Vietnamese Tet style in Tet holiday, Chris really adapt with Vietnamese culture in a deep level while living here ♥️

I'm totally amazed by your Vietnamese. You talk like a native and when people notice that, it's almost as if they forget you're a foreigner. You immerse into their culture and they completely open themselves to you. That's why learning other languages is so awesome!
Vietnamese culture is so cool. I loved visiting the country in 2019, and this channel really makes me want to learn the language and go back some day.

Bạn xem kênh hàng xóm tây. Có 2bạn ng lào. Nói tiếng Việt hơn cả dân Hà Nội chuẩn luôn. Nhìn cũng giống ko khác gì người Việt.

Cháu nói tiếng Việt Nam rất là chuẩn , nghe tiếng cháu nói ai cũng bảo là người Việt Nam 100% luôn ý , cây quất nhỏ như vậy đẹp hơn cây to đấy cháu oi
Nó thực sự là Kumquat?...hay màu cam? (quả to nhưng *cũng không có hình bầu dục)
WATERING TIP IF YOU GO AWAY:
Take a big plastic bottle filled it with water. Make a little hole in the cap (the size depends on how much water you want released). Screw up the cap tightly, turn the bottle upside down and inserted in the potted plant dirt (2 centimeters is enough for the upside down bottle to stand vertically). Place the bottle near the edge of the pot not near the plant to avoid interfering with its roots. Size of the bottle depends on how long you stay away. My advice is also to cover the dirt with a few leaves or mulch to avoid evaporation but not too much to avoid excessive humidity of the soil. I used a 2 liter bottle for plants like yours and a 1 1/2 litre bottle for flowers: I was gone for 2 weeks and they survived in Italy in summer. 🌱🌵🌿

In Hanoi there is a traffic rotary of note. It can be filmed from the Legends Microbrew and restaurant on the second floor. There is a balcony that is the best spot in Hanoi for watching filming the no lane anything goes free for all in that particular Vietnamese traffic circle. Chris the beer is top notch and safe to drink as in pasteurized not fresh beer for local use only . The food you will find suited to the Western traveler. In the three times I was lucky enough to transfer through Hanoi I made it a point to go there have a half liter, eat fried seafood and watch the traffic show below.

Mấy đồ mua về bầy vào căn phòng nhỏ sinh động hẳn lên, có không khí Tết rồi đó bạn. Mình có chút ý kiến : vài hôm nữa bạn mua 1 nải chuối xanh, 1 quả bưởi vàng nhỏ, 1 quả táo đỏ, 1 túm quất nhỏ và vài quả ớt đỏ loại to cong cong để bầy mâm ngũ quả (5 thứ quả ) bầy vào đĩa to để cạnh cái bánh chưng. Như vậy là đủ vị Tết cổ truyền ( theo phong cách miền Bắc).

mua quất thì mình ưu tiên chọn cây có nhiều quả (cả quả non và chín), lá non (lộc) và nhất là có nụ hoa vì rất thích ngửi mùi hoa quất

The carrying things on the bike thing is kinda funny to me where I live in Thailand and EVERYTHING is carried on the bike LOL. My girlfriend recently bought 10 bags of potting soil while we were out, I say I will come back with the car and pick them up....Nooooooo she loads them all on the bike and off the BOTH of us go headed for home...

You might want to place the kumquat plant near the light. Both of the plants need sunlight & air otherwise they might not grow as well.

From my experience, you don't want to leave the pot stand by itself because there's a hole at the bottom. You should put some kind of cover underneath the plants if you don't want the water ruining your furnitures 😂

It's interesting the new year flowers are white...I personally love the pink ones the best. Not a fan of the yellow ones as much. That kumquat tree really makes your place look better! Your living space was so sparse before all the decorating, so yeah, good job with bettering your living space for Lunar New Year.

You can buy more flashing LED lights, red envelopes, and colorful small balls to decorate your two potted plants similar to how people decorate a Christmas tree. you will find it really impressive.
