This came out pretty close to the actual original from "Salad Plain Zone" - the differences are almost all in parts where the composers made a very clear compromise in the instrumentation choices when going to PCM, like replacing the guitar with a more generic pure synthesized tone. Well done!
Im still wondering what is Salad Plain Zone, is it the name for palmtree panic in the past or a zone that never saw the light when sonic cd was released?
I'm so glad the freakin "micro skip" was fixed with after every 4 beats, that's always bothered me to no end in the original Idk how nobody pointed that out
This is the best Palmtree Panic Past mix restoration I’ve heard, literally just like the original, I don’t know why nobody said that in 0:51 it’s a piano instead of that flute heard in the beginning, if you replaced it with the flute this would be perfect, this is great I love it
This sounds absolutely incredible Only things that are different as far as I can tell is that the music is a little faster and seems a little higher to match the present version of palmtree panic when the og palmtree panic past was a little lower. I'm not a music guy so I don't know the correct terminology. I'm wondering if the tone you have here is what the devs intended and the lower tone in the og is as a result of the heavy compressing the other soundchip does (since all past variants of songs use a different soundchip than the present and future versions.) Anyway, this shit is great
I strongly feel like this needs a v2. Some of the instrument choices sound wrong and there's a weird mismatch around the 52 second mark. I only say this because I love your work and you've learned and improved since making this.
id love to hear what you could do if you tried to restore this again, seeing as the CDDA prototype has a number of differences + isn't the correct speed, and other restorations have similar inaccuracies to this one
@@Danyplaysboblox sorry, i thought you was talking about something else. That's from D70, but in my restoration i used sound canvas because when i did it a D70 library did not existed yet

Do you know how you did that flute and accurately depicted the piano? I'm trying my own restoration and would love to hear on how you did the flute and piano, since I can't get them to sound right.
Are those backing strings in the compressed song or did you add them? They make the song sound so much more "full" (in a good way). Ending kinda sucks though lol
Hi, is there a way to download this restoration without the backing strings? Not that I don't like them but I'd like to compare both versions (og and this one)
@@CollisionChaos Oh what a shame. May I ask why didn't you save them in another place? You probably know that UA-cam is not the best because of the compression lol
I remastered, because when i did it i have not found the source for all the drums yet. But the conga, hat, kick and snare can be found in the DrumBase5000. The snare also exists in Proteus MPS, while conga also exists in Kawai XD5, but i believe they used it from DrumBase5000, even if they had the Proteus and Kawai.
a very good remix, but the end of the song doesn't convince me, it can't be looped and it doesn't fit with everything the song was, it would be better if they had put the original end of the song
Those backing strings are beautiful.

Out of the few restorations I've heard, this is the best
Weirdly more accurate than the late redbook version that was found not too long ago
Yeah because this one doesn’t use a guitar for the keyboard solo
This must be backported to an enhanced version of Sonic CD. The quality and styles is just consistent with present and future versions.
Tbh, this sounds better than the official cdda version.

that little part at the end is so cool, i really like it.

What is that remade instrument in 0:32 through 0:52 I like how it borrowed sonic cd soundtrack and made it
Also I like this soundtrack it’s beautiful than before, what is this soundtrack that wasn’t in the original? It kinda sounds like it was from a party
I honestly don't remember what I used for that, I think a sound from Korg M1 vst, but now we know it's from Korg 01/w, a sound called Hard Tines

The piano I used from D70. Flute i just remastered it from the past sample bank, but it seems to be from Korg 01/w, maybe edited or layered
