- In this video I'll show you how to cook ground provisions or (stew food) with salted codfish gravy. ground provisions are your potatoes of choice to go along with your codfish gravy.
Salt fish is commonly used in the Caribbean for a variety of different dishes, it needs to be boiled or soak to remove most salt before using.
To make a salt fish gravy these are the ingredients you'll need.
1 pk of salt fish
1 lg tomato Chopped
1 lg bell pepper Chopped
1 lg onion, 8 garlic cloves Chopped
Saute onions in olive oil, add garlic, tomato and peppers, seasoned to taste, add water cover and let simmer. taste and enjoy - Розваги
I just love Tinaraine! She is ideally suited for what she's doing - speaks slowly and clearly so everyone can understand. Did you see where she quipped "it burns two places" when she added the Barbados pepper sauce? And went right on like nothing happened. lol.
Hi Orley, Tinaraine loves you back! I am just happy that people can use my videos to refresh their memory on cooking certain dishes or use it as a tutorial. The fact that i'ts clear and easy to understand makes me happy I'm doing something good. Thank you so much for watching, and be bless.
Friend just sent this video. Think I can do this
I love that kind of food any day anytime love the colourful gravy u sure right a true bajan know how to go out n pick or digg up something again job well done bajan style
Thank you.
So today, I cooked this dish for my family it came out pretty good, like tinaraine said on her video it's called stew food or ground provision with salt fish gravy, I followed her instructions step by step and I did that because I am not the greatest cook and it came out brilliantly. So don't forget to like, comment, share and subscribe so tinaraine can keep cooking.
Owww, I'm so glad you tried it and it came out great for you! Thank you Joyann for your support, its very much appreciated.
Delicious food
Yes, thank you

Thank you!
I am so glad I found your videos. You make things look so easy. I love me some salt fish gravy..
Thank you Jacqueline! Saltfish makes everything taste so good, i can eat it in just about everything. I have a video up on saltfish pie, it's basically a shepherd's pie with saltfish instead of meat, if you have not tried it, you must make it for your family their are going to love you for it. 😀
Hi Jackie, I see you discovered Tinaraine before I did! :) I discovered her only a few months ago. I too love salt fish, but do not cook it often. The only two ingredients I usually add to my gravy that I didn't see her add are a few sprigs of fresh thyme and a spoonful of 'Mello Kreme' instead of adding seasoning salt.
@@marvachase4609 Yes indeed. She is my favorite UA-cam Chef. Tried some of them for sure.

Hi Jennifer, Hope you liked it. Have a great evening
i am bajan over here in the states...been trying to find a video on saltfish gravy..I am going to the store right now and buy some salt fish....I need my saltfish and rice...
Hi Andrew, Sounds great! Every once in a while you just get a taste for it that it's food we grew up on. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching have a great night.
Is that a Cast Iron pan? I came across some older models when cleaning out my uncle's house that reminds me of my grandmother and her sister's cooking that I plan on preserving them I brought a newer set for outdoor cooking on wood fire. Back to basic, our seniors oil stove and dry sticks cooking.
Yes it is a cast iron pan. What you found in your uncle's house must be those good old time ones, you are right about preserving them. I remember my aunt cooking outside on the wood stove, she use to make her pudding and souse out there, I also remember the food tasting good because of all the smoke lol those were the day I remember fondly. Thanks for watching be bless. .
Hello my Friend, I am coming over for dinner, my hubby asked if you have any dumpling in there, lol. Not the Bajans dumplings either; he is from Jamaica so you know the ones i.m talking about. You need to grow your own herbs, fresh thyme and so on. Looks good though, enjoy. Tfs!!!
Hi Paulette, no dumpling lol I know Jamaicans make dumplings without sugar but anything taste good with salt fish. some fresh herbs would have been nice, but unfortunately I didn't have any at the time. Thanks for watching, tell hubby you and he are welcome to come over anytime.
@@Tinaraine Yes anything taste good with saltfish; God willing my dear hopefully in the near future.
@@Tinaraine it looks delicious have me thinking twice you are very good you take your time and explain slowly love keep it up.
Dumplings are missing !
Yes you are right! I love dumplings, don't know what I was thinking.
