but the updates from msn will and are taking forever but some of us who are lucky can buy it directly I am on the waiting list amfraid. They are both Great aeorplanes though
@@mikecoffee100 I bought the 414 a while ago from the marketplace and they are constantly updating it, I am overall impressed. Excellent airplane. I understand that 310 is also very good, but I bought the black square baron and I don't need the 310 (my passengers enjoy the club configuration of the baron, where they can have a drink together and see each other better 😃)
You bought it so we didn't have to, cheers ! If it's a homebuilt possibly the labels are supposed to look like they were printed out then stuck on ... Thanks for the very useful review !
OMG, I clicked on this thinking it was a review of the actual aircraft. I have over 100 hours in the actual aircraft. The sim is actually pretty close. This is the older model before the redesigned instrument panel. The plane is a bare bones it does have printed labels like those out of a bubble jet because that is exactly where they came from originally, you have to replace them constantly because they fade. The master switch is indeed one switch because the plane has no magnetos, so no need for a separate switch. There is a choke but it’s a pull handle below the dash and my guess is on the sim you would never see it anyway, in warm weather (above freezing) you never use it anyway. The throttle is all you get, there is no mixture (because the Bing carb automatically adjusts for the density altitude) and you don’t get carb heat in some models because the air is sucked directly from the engine compartment and it’s warm enough, there are also two, one for each side of the engine if I remember correctly. I will mention this can be an issue for higher altitude flight and cold temps where it could ice up a bit. The engine noise is surprisingly close, it’s a ROTAX, it’s not a Continental or Lycoming or radial it just sounds different. The buzz or high pitch is the interference between the coms and the electronic ignition, it does sound like that in real life, annoying at first but you get over it. Now, on to flight characteristics, it has a turn coordinator for a reason, it’s not a very well coordinated aircraft to fly. You lead with your rudders in every turn or you will be skidding/slipping all day long. It makes you use your feet to fly unlike Cessna’s where you can be lazy. The stall is about right, it wants to drop a wing but as long as you get the airspeed up a bit you’ll never get past one turn even when you absolutely abuse it. It is a light sport in the US, meant for training and local recreational flights. It’s meant to be forgiving and generally easy to manage. The stall warning comes on early because of that reason as well, that base to final turn is slow, low and higher angle so it’s meant to keep the pilot alert without the low level base to final spin accidents. I laughed out loud when you tried to put it on the ground barely at the white arc, that thing would float like crazy, it wants to fly. You might try a forward slip to land, since the plane can fly uncoordinated well it was preferable to the s-turn method you used. Mid-field downwind you better be no power or you’ll never land her. Approach speed was 55-60 through base/final on short final over the fence you better be 50 or below full flaps or she will float the entire length of the runway. It really does land easily if you keep the speed down. The sim stuff about texture etc. I can’t comment on….
Fantastic feedback :) Brilliant to hear from somebody who's actually flown a real one :) Thank you for taking the time to write such a brilliant comment!
Honest much? OUCH! Remind me NOT to send you a copy of any aircraft with less than stellar graphics. While I 💯 percent agree, the first few minutes of this review were brutal! The dev is going to need a hug 😄 You are correct, we've been spoiled. Graphics I would have lived with a couple of years ago are barely passable today.
😯Opps ! I guess i didn't look to closely at this one but did pay half the price still you did a superb review as expected. i honestly thought it was ok for 12 quid. Hey its good to get a honest opinion. this will help others and lets hope they do some updates. Cheers Jonathan. sorry you didn't do your usual research!
The 3D model is a portover of this aircraft made for XP10, thus quite outdated by now. The free version can be downloaded, the payware absolutely not worth. For half the price I have taken the new Rans Coyote 6S6, that is really well, well done.
Looks like something from X plane. The Worst plane I have bought for MSFS was the Deimos Inc PC 21, which was my bad for not looking properly who made the good version that being Iris simulations. Thankfully I did not spend much money on it.
THANK YOU for an honest review of this mediocre payware add on. Reviews on simmarket all appear to be friends of the developer. Very overpriced and shite!
This looks absolutely horrible honestly, especially considering the price. You always had to be careful and do your research before buying any addons for flightsims previously, but now considering the accessibility of MSFS I feel like its really gotten worse with a lot of developers trying to cash in. Also the reviews on Simmarket have to be fake, no way this is a 4.7 out of 5...
I like the free version. As a free aircraft. I don't know about paying more than 5-10$ for it, if that. Sad really. I was hoping the premium version would be more engaging.
@@nicknicholson1268 hah. Seems fair. It rrally slots into an oversaturated niche anyway. I don't think the sim needs another generic tricycle light plane. Not when there are some solid GA contenders out there still waiting to be represented.
@@Blxz Absolutely agreed! Maybe somebody owning/flying that particular plane in real life to go for the sim version. Like you, I cannot wait for more GA gems to appear, hopefully in the near future.
Thanks for taking one for the team 😄
I love it when a title says everything you need to know!
Heh
I just bought the 310R and the 414aw this week, a little pricey but these are great GA Aircraft glad I spent the money, fantastic Aircraft

I'm sure people can afford a dymo for the labels though :)
I've stopped adding new aircraft to my stable but this certainly won't get onto my wishlist. Thanks for the honest review.
You're welcome :)
Hey Jonathan, Thanks for the heads up and for saving my Wallet. Another great Video though.
No worries!
Jon you allowed the poor visual quality to knock you off your game a bit on this one. Thanks for the review!
Thank you! :)
Full throttle, avoid the bus ... loved the video :)
Haha :)

It's unfortunate but true - the bar has been massively raised in the last two years.
Nonsense!! If you charge 24 EUROS for something that is sub-freeware quality, you have to expect tough reviews!
Do you have the link of the plane?
I commented twice on this video and both times it seems to have disappeared, what's going on?
UA-cam has automatic filtering - I'll check behind the scenes - it may be you triggered it somehow ?
Ok thanks
The weird thing is that it really doesn't take any longer to create hi res graphics.
(if they have the high resolution graphics) - I suspect this has been ported from an older simulator.

A no for most people, I suspect :)
_Caveat emptor_ noted.
Its even got a AP, if it looked better I would buy that, maybe after your video they will make improvements to the visuals.
I very much doubt it - but you never know :)
A real shame. It could have been a very nice aircraft to include in my hanger. Thanks Jonathan for your review.

For about the same cost just get the Black Square Baron. Far, far better use of money.
