  • Did you know that there are buildings at the bottom of the Grand Canyon? We’ll zoom in on the buildings at Phantom Ranch from 3.3 miles (5.3 km) away with the Nikon COOLPIX P1000 super zoom camera. You can even see horses and mules walking the trail down on the canyon floor. Our shooting location is at the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, near Mather Point.
    I posted another video of zooming in on hikers down in the Grand Canyon from up on the rim. You can watch it here:

    You can learn more about these buildings at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in the article I wrote on my website here:

    Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for reply.
      i watched your vids and each one is awesome!
      BTW, now i have nikon B700 though,i'm not satisfied with its superzoom so i'm thinking about buying P1000 or P950.
      i know both are amazing and that's why i've not decided which to buy.
      i wish you gave me good advice.
      incidentally, P1000 : 100,000~110,000/JPY
      and P950: 85,000/JPY or so.

      Hi Rock Paper! The P950 is smaller and easier to handle, but the P1000 has an extra 1000mm zoom reach. I've not used the P950, but there are some folks in the P950/P1000 forum on dppreview.com that can provide a great list of pros and cons for you to consider.

    Enjoyable test, I liked it. It is almost the same as the P950, 2000 and 3000 mm do not seem to be noticeable at all. In general use, the P950 may take the lead.

      Thanks for the feedback! Yes, my thought is that if size and price are the priority then choose the P950 and if having as much reach as possible is the priority then choose the P1000. Both are excellent super zoom cameras!

    I’ve watched a couple of your videos and I like the pacing and little facts you toss in here and there
    I’m not even a big photography buff in the slightest, I was just looking at buying the P1000 and came across your videos
    Keep up the good work!

    we can zoom very long but there is no clarity . how much distance can we focus with nikon coolpix 1000?

    • @OneLensTwo
      @OneLensTwo  5 місяців тому +1

      Hello! The lack of sharpness when photographing at a distance mostly depends on how much atmosphere we're looking through, how much particulate matter is suspended in it and how many heat waves are moving through it. These will all affect and/or distort the light moving through the atmosphere on it's way to the camera's lens. That applies to the P1000 and other high telephoto lenses. Good question though. Maybe I'll do a test of the same subject from different distances to provide some example answers to your question.

    How much this price

      @OneLensTwo  Рік тому

      Hi SIVA kRISHNA , the COOLPIX P1000 is listed for $1,000 USD on the Nikon site. The Nikon P950 with a 2000mm maximum focal length (35mm equivalent) is a good alternative for $800 USD.
