Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
Very helpful! Thank you.
Hi..I have a question - I have a ceremony in 4 weeks ithat Is taking place in an old movie theater. It is VERY dimly lit all of the time, and there are now windows or natural light AT ALL. How can I light this room when the only ambient light I will have is probably very dim tungstens.? I'm tempted to treat it like I do a reception shoot and set up strobes or flashes around the room. But I'm worried that that would creat a distraction.
thank you, very inspiring!
So glad!
i shoot with those settings with no flash but my images have sooo much grain.
How do you keep your ISO so high and not have noise/grain?
Gonna have my first wedding photograhy in an hour😅
Thank you this was awesome. Do you use single-point focus for weddings/events?
Single Point is awesome. I use it 90% of the day for weddings.
Yes always
I'm amazed...I cannot go below 125 without getting blur.ugh
Hi there, thank you for this info, I have a question, what about when you do group pictures on a low light setting with flash, the 2.8 aperture will make the sides of the picture blurry.
Depends on the distance. Normally need f4 or F5.6
How well does your camera find focus in the low light/dark situations?
Pretty well! But, nailing focus on low light IS a learned skill. It isn’t always about the camera ;)
Do you have a problem with shooting only at 2.8 ? I mean you can go lower
Is there any reason you stick to 2.8? Looks like those are 1.4 lenses?
Yes, with low light, I like to find the balance of perfect color, exposure, and focus. A lot of photographers will reduce aperture in an effort to increase shutter speed, but when lowering aperture, we also reduce the distance of focus for the lens - which increases the likelihood of missed focus - Especially for moments of movement like walking down the aisle. With 1.2 - One step - and they walk out of the focus point.
Therefore, I like to slower shutter - but not too slow. I like an open aperture - but not too open.
that is definitely not a lens hood😅
Haha yes! Good catch! I’m known for giving items random names!!
Lens hood ?? 😂😂 it’s called a flash diffuser
Flash bender?
Lol yes. A lens hood is something else entirely
bounce card actually
Yes you are correct! Sorry I say things the wrong way sometimes when I am recoding and trying to keep all of my thoughts straight
Sorry I say things the wrong way sometimes when I am recoding and trying to keep all of my thoughts straights I’m glad you knew what I meant 😅
This is not a lens hood. It’s a flash reflector.
