Dragon Ball power scaling is currently being plagued by a terrible argument that makes every character from Goku to even Bulma, far more powerful than they actually are. Today, I expose this lie and discuss why is it not true.
Dragonball Fans when you tell them the Earth is the size of the Earth
Ok first of all I didn't think that power scaler used his word to scale earth size.
SECOND arale is canon in db doesn't means his world also exist in db .
And I think the busting solar system is equivalent to destroying galaxy comes from daizenshu where solar system is stated as collection of countless stars.

Also Arale's multi solar meta is very recent and unnesscary.
If you are using anime version then we litreally see a explosion big enough to been outside of a galaxy in Namek saga.

An even clearer thing to note, Doctor Umashika's name is written "Uma" - Horse + "Shika" - Deer. The two kanji together form "Baka", the very same one that means "stupid". This is not even an homophone, that is how the word is spelled. His name is *literally* Professor Stupid.

@@jpraise6771 you've obviously not watched dragon ball z, Goku's path to power and his accepting of his saiyan nature was the peak of his character development Goku going from refusing to being a saiyan, to "I'm a saiyan! From earth!", to "I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN, SON GOKU" is obvious character progression for a flat character. The Goku bad dad argument is ass as well he actively says that Gohan can study all he wants and misunderstanding your son isn't a sign of a bad dad either, in fact blame Gohan for not telling Goku that. Piccolo and Vegeta obviously have character development, and have peak moments as a side affect of that said development.
As for the world building, go watch one piece for peak world building. Sure DB doesn't have the best world building in the world, in all of fucking anime, but I personally didn't find it too bad, then again this is your opinion so eh, doesn't matter to me.
I never understood why other db fans even use dr slump like the cosmology is still crazy without needing to wank it that hard. They wanna use evidence from a gag manga but do t wanna know shit about the other world or the inf timelines

Just so people know if Earth wqs 100,000 times bigger with the same composition and the same weight per cubic meter as our real one it would collaspe into a black hole within 5 minuted.
This is becuase stars on average are less weight per cubic inch that smaller celestial bodies. The gravity of an earth like planet with a circumference of 4,000,000,000 miles would be 2.426 x10^30 m/s^2.
I like to imagine Penguin Village is another hyperpolic time chamber type place on Earth. You cross a certain threshold and you appear in Penguin Village/that version of Earth.
DB Fans trying not to push an agenda to make Goku stronger than he is challenge(impossible)
The fanbase generally doesn't understand how the power scaling works in the series anyway. They ignore things like the fundamentals Goku learned in the original series and all the statements and very specific and direct plot points about how raw strength isn't everything, and instead they just obsess over raw numbers and multipliers as if Toriyama was just constantly doing the math for every single moment of every single fight in the series to determine the outcomes of everything.
There are specific instances in which he does do some math to align things with the plotline of the time, but it's not an overarching thing and it's not as wide sweeping as many people in the fanbase would have you believe. For instance, Toriyama does state in an interview that Super Saiyan is a 50 times multiplier... When Goku uses it the first time on Namek. He never says anything anywhere about every single usage of the SSJ1 form being a 50 times multiplier, and there's multiple instances of this clearly not being the case throughout the series. There's instances of characters clearly being more or less than 50 times stronger, and other instances in which their SSJ1 and SSJ2 forms are outright stated to be pretty close to identical.
The whole point of power levels getting introduced when Raditz showed up at the beginning of Z was for Raditz and a number of characters after him to have smug confidence in their certain victory due to their bigger number, only to have that preconceived notion shattered. Quite literally the first fight in Z is Raditz with his higher power level getting defeated by Goku and Piccolo working together and outsmarting him. It's made painfully clear that neither one of them had the strength to beat him alone, but through teamwork they are able to overcome his raw power. There's other things that get around sheer power as well such as characters having weaknesses that can be exploited (For example, for most Saiyans if they haven't trained to avoid it, their tail is a weakness that can be used to render them nearly powerless), different power sets that ignore power level entirely such as magic and technology, etc.
There is a certain degree of underlying truth to some of the ideas the fanbase has about power level, but they generally stopped getting tracked after the Cell saga for a reason. They were introduced to be a preconceived notion to shatter, and were generally phased out as soon as Toriyama was done fulfilling that purpose thoroughly. Cell himself is basically the living embodiment of everything the group had been through up to that point, power level included, and Gohan alone was able to surpass him while barely even able to move and with one hand much like how his father once used only one hand to defeat Demon King Piccolo.
Even the fight between Super Saiyan Goku and Full Power Freeza on Namek is a perfect outline of exactly how much more important core balance is than raw numbers. Freeza is a character that never trained a day in his life. Raw power is the only thing he has, the only thing that allows him to bully everyone he comes across. When Goku achieves Super Saiyan and Freeza raises himself to full power, the difference between them in regards to raw power level isn't actually all that different. Goku's power level is only a little bit higher than Freeza's, relatively speaking. Yet, Goku still has very little difficulty in overpowering Freeza and his bigger concern is finding a way off the planet in time. He drops the disrespect on Freeza hardcore, looking down on him and treating him as a minor nuisance. He warns him about how beating him is hopeless and he should rethink his ways, and in general just really hammers in how superior he is in that moment, something that enrages Freeza immensely.
The reason for this massive gap between the two of them is because Goku isn't just all about raw power. He's a grandmaster with fantastic inner balance. He's not only a seasoned martial artist with insane battle skills and smarts, but even despite the fact that SSJ is a rage based transformation he's actually mastered his inner mentality to the point that he's generally calm and in control of himself rather than going berserk. The power of transformations hasn't yet completely gone to his head and inflated his ego to the point of shattering his balance, and so the gap between him and Freeza who has nothing but power is immense despite the raw numbers being so close to the same.
It's something that almost everyone in the fanbase overlooks because of this obsession with raw power levels they're consumed with. Even when characters continually point out how raw power isn't everything and it gets brought up over and over and over how inner balance is more important even recently in Super, everyone still keeps chanting the religion of power is everything. It's almost maddening. The whole "Dragon Ball fans don't even watch their own show" meme really does feel true when you watch the power scaling side of the community at work.

I had never heard of this scaling for Dr Slump and DBZ before ToasterXD's Gohan vs Cosmic Garou video in all honesty. I thought the logic behind using this stuff for DBZ was kinda wonky so thanks for clearing this up.

There is also a Large Planet lvl calc for the DB earth on reddit which I generally think makes sense. It's based on the statement in the Manga that Roshi's Island is 10,000km away made by Krillin or Yamcha I think and also the statement by Mercenary Tao that The Red Ribbon Army HQ and Korin's Sanctuary are 2,300km appart, which is also stated by the narrator
Anyway, I always knew that the Dr Slump statement was bs and I'm glad that someone finally went over it.
I agree with most of your points within the video but I do have one statement on one of your point's. Using Akira Toriyama interview statements must always (in my opinion) be taken with a grain of salt. No disrespect to him or his work but he did have a consistent issue with forgetting a lot of big details in his own stories. He had forgotten ssj2 and the saiyans having tails or being great apes. I am not saying that the character who said the earth statement is 100% right. What I am saying is that it is totally in the realm of possibility (though not likely) that Toriyama could have intended that and just forgot.
As a dragonball fan, I can confirm that we love meat riding the power scaling of characters, I can also confirm that I never believed for a second that dragon ball earth was that big 😂

I never heard someone talking about this though. The scalling is usually with statements. Cell kamehameha was said to be able to destroy a solar system. While if Moro exploded he would destroy the whole universe 7, while goku at that time had more ki and strengh than him. This is db real scalling, the universe is really like glass to them. And char like krillin in cell saga could easily destroy planets because they were strongger than final form frieza (and the first form could easily destroy a planet). But the video is really interesting, I never thought about if the db earth was the same as ours.

It has been argued that gag characters can't really be scaled in the traditional sense because their "feats" aren't meant to be taken seriously and can't work in a hypothetical matchup analysis because their toon force abilities can't work outside the context of an actual story
Yeah it’s an issue when it comes to many comedy series. People want to power scale stuff that has no consistency and call it stuff like “toon force”. It’s absolutely ridiculous and the point of these shows with slapstick humor is to get a laugh, not to be power scaled

Dr. Dr. Umashika aka S.Tupid is clearly used as a Joke character, however he is not used in the Manga nor in the Anime or even in the Anime Game as a pure fraudster like Mr.Satan or King in One-Punch-Man, he is stated to be a guy who likes to brag and boast about his IQ, but he is not a fraud in his Science, his inventions are gags, but not failures... also People only watch one video and think he is an Idiot.

Also Penguin Village is clearly stated to be in Dragonball, and Toriyama is known to change the scaling of the Powers and the World of dragonball... even "The One Million Kilometer Snake Road" was changed to be a billion killimeters and trillions when asked how big it actually was... also the Heaven´s-, Hell´s and Kaishinrealm were changed over time -to be infinite in size.
dr. slump and arale can exist in the Dragon Ball world without making every event in Dr. Slump canon in dragon ball. That doesn't mean they exist in the same world, just that some elements from one exist in the other

I dont think ANYONE uses the slump meta as a means to upscale the verse. You also read that Toriyama statement wrong. He says the pole can stretch to AT LEAST 380,000 km. Meaning its the bare minimum. Doesn't mean there isnt an upscale.

Secondly, the statement is literally saying the distance between the Earth and the Moon is 380000km, Go read It again. How is It Possible for Earth to be 100000 times bigger and arguably the Moon too, and still Only being that small of a distance? Bruh If Earth was that Big It would have a gravity/mass Higher Than the Sun, and therefore would disintegrate a moon that was so close.

With a quick google search (or maticulusly doing it your self) you can find out that the dragon ball earth is 2-3 times larger then our earth amd so is the moon in the series the moon actually appears to be Larger then what we see in the sky so its safe to say that the Size is A BIT bigger but yeah
If you really wanna up scale the Chracters use namek or Vegeta THE LITERAL MEGA EARTHS AND NAMEK IS JUST INSANELY BIG its clear because
A- it has 3 SUNS
B- IT HAD A GALACTIC SIZED EXPLISION
C- IT SURVIVED Q SPIRIT SATED A BAGILLION TIMES TO BE ATLEAST STAR TO UNIVERSAL

I don't use it for anything, but it gives me a lot to think about and to ask, what if I did put these here, how would it change everything for the world building I made? The answer is both a lot and not at all. It changes a lot as now I have what I call Primordial Celestial Bodies and Contemporary Celestial Bodies, some of the power changes are for those who live on the ladder, like level of power for it and it gives a reason to have a vastly better and much more up to date tech for reading such things when it comes to the present era of the story. But for those at the time or love of such a location, they have the tech based around that level and the power readers read that level of it. Now it makes it nearly wrong when it comes to vastly weaker beings around a BP of 5 to 0.00001 as it does an automatic scale reading and rounds the level to be exponential than not. Which is why the readers of the CCB are infinitely more accurate to the BP than not. It is still exponential, but not to a degree of trillions (slight over exaggeration) when going up a couple points.

That statement from torriyama was talking about the distance the distance between 2 celestial bodies doesn't hinder the size of the planet this is fiction not real life it just means that the earth and moon have different characteristics
The guidelines are just concerned about the marked areas in the story of dragon ball doesn't hinder the size

The only difference in the dragon ball world is the universe its the only thing stated to be larger than ours and the macro aswell having alot of objects with inf size in it like the universe hell and heaven and the kai planet which all of them are infinite in size except the kai planet meaning the universe in dragon ball is like a multiverse in our dragon ball but the earths size isnt different neither the planets in our universe

the earth physically couldnt be the size of the sun in real world, it is absolutely impossible, the entire thing would fall apart or be a sun itself. also the distance to venus being so low while both are so huge would mean they would almost instantly fall into each other.
gravity laws, our laws, wouldnt make sense, so we also couldnt reach any power level conclusions from it.
the whole scaling is BS anyway. If Vegeta could destroy Planets and threatened to do so with Earth back when he had only 18k or whatever nowadys anytime even the weakest charakter Sneezes the Earth would be destroyed. Even if you say that was a bluff and Freezer failed destroying Namek the charakters are so much stonger now that this would still apply. I mean he did destroy Planet Vegeta (and many more) in just his 1st form without breaking a sweat.
I would actually very much argue Doctor Slump isn't directly canon to Dragon Ball. It's only canon in a "Don't think about it too hard how this fits together" sort of way.
