Cant wait to see more and i noticed that it might not always be used as a cruiser when you mentioned something about changing the gears for a fun weekend 🤣 a hotrod guy never closes the door completely on being able to easily swap it over to a fast and fun car that will do a burnout or two and make a couple quick passes at the track 😁
Nice I’ll be following this build! I Finally just started cleaning up and working on my Ebody 8.75 for my D150, I’m flipping the perches over to avoid the axle flip. It already has 2” drop shackles , perfect for keeping my truck fully functional to pull my boat, go to lumberyard and go down shitty northern Ny roads without worry.
😎🔧👍. I used VHT suspension gloss black epoxy paint to paint the 8-3/4 for my dart . its rust, corrosion and chip resistant . well if we dont have a mild winter down here I'll have to wait till spring to work on my dart and the 8-3/4 🙄.
Great update! Thank you for running a tape measure on that housing. I bought a 8 3/4 housing earlier this year and kept reading conflicting information on the internet about which one it was. Well you answered my question right away. Thanks!
Already having the spare parts is half the battle! Looking forward to seeing a bit of progress at a time throughout the winter, temps permitting. Have a good day and God bless!
Thank you !! Yes, I always look to use what I may already have, even if it would be my "3rd" choice. Can always upgrade to what a guy exactly wants !!!
Thanks for the info on the difference between, I think you said, 65-67 and 68-72 8 3/4 housings. I'll check those other videos you mentioned because my projects are 3 A-bodies.
I like the 235 60 choice. Tire of choice on my 69 cuda. Tall and skinny wrecked the over all look of dusters in my opinion. So changing it will really be an improvement. Great series can’t wait till the end. 👍
I'm looking to install an 8 3/4 rear end from a 69 charger to my 74 Plymouth scamp. Do you know if that would also be a direct fit for my A body? Thanks for the info. Love your videos, learning a lot for my own project.
'69 will be just a tad wider than the '65-67 rear ends, however, the real deal here is the Scamp/Swinger style cars do have straight wheel wells limiting tire width. It will work, but you'll have to pay close attention to the wheel backspacing to avoid tires from hitting the body
Redoing my Demon, bought it new, so it’s time to update it, after 50 years, it’s time. Swapping the 318 for a 360 I had built. Dyno’d at 350hp. Got an 833 O/D tranny, had it all gone thru. Just picked up an 8 3/4 from a 68 B body. New axles and sure grip parts with 3.55’s. I’ll try to oval out the perches. If that doesn’t pan out They gave me a new set to weld on. I saw your other videos, did you have much clearance issues with wheels with that wider rearend? Just got my new long tube Dougs Headers, so I hope they don’t give me too much trouble with that power steering unit. Had my seats redone years ago, along with all the interior, and been collecting new parts for too many years now. Retired, so now I have the time to put it all together. Long time viewer, thanks for all the videos. 👍
Thanks for watching !! Sounds like you have a nice project! I had a '72 Demon when I was 16. The '68 rear end will be a touch wider, so I don't know if you'll have issues or not, but if you do you can solve it with wheel backspacing.
You seem to like to do things on a budget - Not bad mouthing you for that. I'm the same way. Just thought I'd mention - those axles are probably just fine - replace the bearings and stud - or studs yourself and save that money for something else. Gearing maybe? I know you'll break 14 with higher gears. Just a thought. Good luck man.
Hey I have a ???? Can a 489 8/34 it's from a 1967 Plymouth belvedere ii and I am trying to install it into my 1969 dodge charger my 1969 dodge charger is a base model 318 car I had install the 340 engine and the A727 from that Plymouth belvedere ii I have a 8/34 471 rear end in my charger I wanted to if it's going to bolt up if I get that 8/34 489 rearend all the engine and transmission and drive line is from that car I just change out the 318 engine and A904 transmission just the 471 rear end is still in the car ok guy ALOHA lmk I wanted to if it would fit my car ALOHA
You can pull a 471 and put in a 489 or 472 without issue. Just look at the yokes, because some have the narrow yoke and some the wide yoke. They have an adapting u-joint if it's different

Thanks! We considered a E body and C body 8.75 for Drag Truck before we settled on a truck rear end. Many use car rears for the trucks.

I missed the first one so i went back because i love the channel man 👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅
Appreciate it, we really do !
I notice you have a collection of air conditioning , by putting the one in the middle of your storage unit does that mean you have central air ?
Of course !!!!! Ha
For Gas Milage, you need to also consider Weight, Rolling Resistance, and Aerodynamics.
Any thoughts on that?
Weight and rolling resistance, yes. In fact, I've considered the 8.75 having more drag (turning resistance) than the 7.25. Thanks for watching !

I am cost-minded most of the time. I'll inspect the axles closer, and see if the adjuster is usable. Gears are picked, 2.94's. Thanks for watching !
How you feeling Bud?
Better/Stronger every day. It will be a couple months before we are back to full strength.
👍
