Yes, really, thanks a lot. 3 years ago, we bought our ptacs used in Tampa and drove them back to GA to save $2k. So they weren't the best and we're far from great. Just woke this morning and room feels totally different, the ge unit and the cap fix did it. We also noticed how filthy and packed the long squirrel cage fan was...the wife grabbed the toilet scrub brush and I got all the crud from the fan. Ptac blows cold across the room now. Nice video. Just to share. I always start with the safety switches HPS OLP LPS etc.... If I suspect and found that the relay board is broken, I jump T1 of compressor straight to L2 disconnecting it from the Relay. When the compressor starts, it is the relay board. The contacts inside the relay are the ones that go bad. Not the entire board.
The compressor was working normally giving out good cold air and suddenly it became completely quiet when the air-conditioner was switched on the next time, is this likely due to the capacitor issue? As you have said in the video there will still be starting sound coming from the compressor. But in our case no starting sound can be heard, what are the chances that it is a capacitor issue?
I would recommend to check the High pressure switch wiring( very common to short out) or if the capacitor is completely dead then you wouldn't have the compressor trying to start
