Cheating is something that has always been around and, as you mentioned, is unlikely to go away anytime soon. However, we are determined to minimize the impact as much as possible by pro-actively addressing new forms of cheating (such as DMA) and ensuring that offenders are removed from the game as quickly as possible. We hope players will continue to report any suspected cheaters they meet as we work together to maintain a fair and fun environment for Delta Force!

Hey @DeltaForceGame, Im about my limit, I enjoy the game a lot, I hate cheating. At the point where every other match I get killed by a suspected cheater. I honestly will give up soon. It's a shame Im sure its a complex subject, and I honestly don't understand how it all works or why cheaters exist. But I know there are games that have a better anticheat like Valorant or Overwatch for example. Good luck guys, Ill take a break from the game, I hope to have no cheaters in the future

It's because they have people willing to buy these cheats that they have the money and effort to improve. DMA wasn't usually intended specifically for cheating. They were used in the server space for directly accessing the main systems memory. It's used for Windows and Linux servers combined. I doubt that microsoft can help with much of this. If it were that easy. Why can't Battleye and EAC that's currently in majority of the games we play work with Microsoft to combat these problems? DMA isn't really new. It wasn't introduced to us recently. It's been out for a while.

Cheating became so sophisticated that it reached a point that is almost impossible to prevent it. I've been saying for years that kernel anti-cheat would never solve shit, because cheat devs would simply learn to adapt to it. That being said, game devs NEED to start tackling this problem from a completely different angle.
My honest suggestion? STOP banning cheaters. We already know that banning doesn't make a difference at all, because people can always create new accounts. Even paid games suffer from this, imagine a free to play game like DF. Not only that, every time a cheater is banned, you are LITERALLY giving cheat devs real time feedback that their software needs to be changed/updated. Believe me, it would make cheat development 10x harder if cheat devs don't have a clue if they are being detected or not. By not banning cheaters, game devs would be giving themselves a massive advantage on that "cat and mouse chase".
Now that we know banning cheaters does more harm than good, what do we do then? Simple, once a cheater has been identified, just queue them with other cheaters from now on, WITHOUT giving them a notice. In other words, just quietly separate them from legit players and let them taste their own medicine. That's it. Sure, once they notice that they might have been flagged as a cheater, there is nothing preventing him to create a new account, but because he was never banned in the first place, he might level up his cheater account to a point that it would feel bad for him to create a brand new one. To avoid a cheater noticing to early he got flagged, you can even use the same SBMM system to queue him with light, closet cheaters at first, and then with rage cheaters after, if he is also one himself.

The game becomes so frustrating. It's night and day difference between a legit lobby and when hackers suddenly join.
Most crazy example was doing a flank through the middle tunnel on Shafted. Coming back to the C2 flag my team used a Recon Arrow attacking from the front. I could then see about 15 people all lit up looking towards the attackers. This was going to be an insane flank. I wasn't spotted and suddenly about 5-6 of them started to turn around and I could literally watch them track me through the walls as I approached from the side. All I could do was say "WTF" I wasn't even sprinting, so sound wouldn't have been a factor. Naturally two charged me jumped and pre-fired the corner and insta killed me.

Funny enough the Luna players that I could see didn't even turn, at all. You literally see them track me through the wall. Not a turn and look around like they heard something. Warfare is very position and map knowledge based and cheats don't help as much in that game mode. I play warfare to a reasonably high level and see cheaters all the time, but they don't always top the scoreboard, they're usually just average, but happen to have freakish aim / ability to know when you're coming around a corner. Dma does not cost up to 1,000 you can buy a dma card as low as $50 thats mostly if you live in china where its sourced but outside of china I have seen it as low as $100 the fuser is also $100 kmbox is either $40-$50 and the fuser and kmbox is optional kmbox is for aimbot and tirggerbot thats if you want that you can buy it not needed tho. Fuser is for overlaying the cheats esp from the second pc to your monitor if you dont get it it will stay on your second pc and on a different monitor. Hence why some pros get called out for cheating "he keep looking to his side to a different monitor" let say you dont get the kmbox or fuser you only get the dma card for $100 you need something called firmware its where it hides your dma from anticheats people sell them and each fw supports either all anti cheat systems or few. The more AC support the more expensive. I know places that sell really good fw as low as $100 so $200 in total rn than you need a second pc you can buy a mini pc from $150-$200 and in that range you get really good specs so the cheat can run smoothly with no issues. I know this all because I own everything for dma cheating.

I left this dump, here are a few catastrophic and fundamental reasons.:
    1. The rest of the hit registration
    2. Very, very serious desync
    3. A fake ping that writes 60, but in fact, the packet loss on the server is huge, so you can't kill anyone at point blank range - there is no registration. And they kill you in 0.1 seconds. Even if the enemy and the weapon need time to fire for 0.4 seconds, you still won't see it, you die instantly. You haven't seen the enemy yet, you're already dead.
    4. Cheaters. There are a lot of them, even in battles, even in sieges. Today, a guy like that was lying on a spawn and killed half a card later.
    5. Reporters don't work in battles, in my opinion.
    6. SBMM and a game with bots that kill you with a pistol without missing while jumping with their backs. Or at 60 meters with an ultrasound without a miss, they hit 3 in the head. At the same time, there are people playing in your team who can't do anything. And so on for 20 matches in a row.
During the month of playing, I got on good servers twice, guys, these were my best games of the month. Just two, that's it. Everything else is negative, cheaters, no registration, bots in the team, out of sync.
Sorry, I wrote through Google Translate. It hurts 😁

Your client needs to know that information so it knows where to play foot step audio and other things like that. You could argue the client doesnt need every bit of info on other players which is true to a point but unfortunately the hardware limits and the network infrastructure we have all over the world make it difficult to code the game in a way that makes cheating impossible in FPS games where the game needs to process commands and info very quickly.
It sucks but our tech (personal computers and our home networks) just werent made with FPS cheats in mind. If safe guards could be built in like with a console, it makes things better but most people wont risk the sacrifice of losing privacy on their home pc for kernel level anti cheat. The only real way at the moment to deter cheaters is to make cheating such a hassle that they realize its not worth their time which is why we get things like level requirements in order to play ranked or steams trust factor for CS.

What really needs to happen is true SBMM in all aspects of the game as well as in ops there needs to be gear limits such as Easy mode is blue gear and blue ammo as top tier, purple can drop from loot but not be worn, normal mode opens it up to gold tier for gear and ammo and then a hard mode which further opens it up to red gear. This would be fair for ALL players in this mode as it would stop the high geared folks from coming in and wiping lobbies so easily when they know they barely have any risk to themselves. Also make it so that high rank players have a significant loss to rank when playing easy and then being killed. There is no legitimate argument against what I've proposed other than from those who are cheaters, all of us who aren't cheaters want something like this to be implemented.

From what I've heard DMA is also not that common since it's very expensive to get (the shown setup costing somewhere in the ball park of a thousand dollars). However kernel level cheats tend to hide pretty well unless thwarted by Secure Boot, which cheaters can easily just disable.
The only way to kill cheating completely is to drop anonimity and associate each and every account with a goverment issued ID to identify the real person. Which is a problem on many fronts, ranging from the fact that nobody wants to store such information (with good reason, you'd become a prime target for hackers) to being able to verify wether that ID is indeed real or just made up to some large markets like the US greatly lagging behind on the goverment ID tech front. That's not even touching on the idea of dropping any idea of anonimity (not to be confused with privacy, which doesn't really change much)

our sole option to play videogames back then was to play them on dedicated machines (consoles). At some point in time someone brought videogames to PCs and since then PCs started supporting games along with their main purpose. Cheating cannot be dealt with as long as we play videogames on a device whose main purpose is not playing videogames, the vulnerabilities we have on windows are not there by mistake, are there because they would not be considered "vulnerabilities" if it wasn't for gaming, DMA is there because they are used in servers and now it's considered a bad deal because we are trying to play videogames on devices that have adapted themselves to host videogames.
I'll stand on my hill, the cheating issue can be greatly reduced in 1 way only:
    - have gaming upscaled and recognised enough to trigger some governmental figures, have an entity in charge of the login systems and everyone who wants to login to play videogames has to make an account in this platform, have the account registration require the actual person's ID, and if someone is caught cheating and gets banned he's out from the whole videogame industry. Along with sanctions.

Part of making Anti-Cheats requires reverse engineering knowledge, and obviously if you make smth, have fun making it and suddenly it’s no longer working, it makes you feel challenged and as such you start making more and more advanced ways to get around the fix…. And unfortunately, being a Reverse engineer by default makes a Dev far more competent than any game or anti-cheat dev can ever be, just because reverse engineering needs one to look at the smallest level of anything, something normal game devs just can’t do. I myself, along with some other friends have re’d many games, and I cannot tell you just how much fun it is to code cheats for those games (obv I only make for “single”-ish player games). So I can’t imagine just how the Cheat devs feel… I hope this clears up why cheaters and by extension cheat devs (many devs don’t even actually play the game they make a cheat for) always continue doing it.

A big way these cheats work (and not just on Delta Force) especially the way the rent-a-cheat style (cheaters often use this style when they have no fancy hardware for cheats) whether it be a monthly or weekly subscription is through a VPN stule subcription service. so there's no malicious looking hardware or programs on their PC. They are playing through the internet and the cheat host's PC or server is running the cheats and sending the info to an overlay the cheaters screen. There's many vids on youtube on how this works.
Making it so you can't use VPNs while playing the game will help quite a bit I bet.

@MrSunglxzz I cannot remember, it was about 2 years ago. It was something like "why cheating is so hard to combat on online FPS games" or something. Then there are a few "Interview with a Tarkov Cheater" vids where the cheaters explain how the cheat service is basically a VPN making their hardware and software look clean to the games they play. They also explained they use the same cheat service to cheat on multiple games. They explained how the cheat was an overlay streamed over their gameplay etc. A lot of the cheats are not game specific. Especially aimbot. ESP has to go deeper in the games code. Now with AI programming programs they can crack the game code in a day to use ESP on a brand new game.
Anyway I've watched probably 30 hours of vids on cheats and how they are almost undetectable in the last 2 years to try to figure out how to combat cheating on FPS games short of having invisible admins watching the game like in quite a few big DayZ servers.

Either implement a level system that you have to reach before you play with real people, OR make the game cost $10-$20 make an announcement that it'll cost money by a certain date but those who have it in there library don't have to worry. The Microsoft thing sounds promising.

First and foremost, every game should implement an improved killcam (and save replays to provide evidence of suspicious behavior). Subsequently, when players submit feedback about a potential cheater, an operator should review the replay and determine if cheating has occurred. By implementing this system, many cheaters can be swiftly banned without relying solely on automated systems.

1st problem is the developer is a liar.
I find it difficult to believe anything they said when the 1st problem occurred.
We all go through alpha, we experienced firsthand how bots disguised as players and we all assume it is a cheater. After release, with MMR and bots still running around, how do we know they are a real player with a cheat or just bots like in alpha? That is how mesh and unclear this game is.
After we confirmed the developer was hiding tons of information about the game. I just couldn't take whatever they said seriously.

Trying to detect cheaters this way is dumb. You don't need that when you can just detect them statistically. If you have a guy that has an insane KDA ratio consistently, has insane accuracy, has insane damage, has insane win ratio, etc. It's not hard to figure out that he is cheating. Just grab the top 5% of players and assume that they are cheating and put them in a lobby of their own. Good luck, have fun! So the other 95% of the players can have fun. Cheating is not going to bother anyone if the cheater has to nerf it to look like a normal player to avoid the statistical ban.

I played the game for a total of 25h (90% warfare). I haven't encountered any obvious cheaters. A lot of people just encounter better players and call them cheaters. Many cheaters also try to hide their cheats with playing a bit worse which just turns them into "better players". (obviously not better, because they use cheats) So far the game has been a good experience. But if we consider "Skill based matchmaking", the game will most likely match you with more cheaters the better you get.

I would honestly have preferred if the game wasn't free. It wouldn't stop cheating, but the more barriers you put the less incentives for people to cheat, after all if you get banned you would think it a bit more since you would have to pay another 20 bux or so. Having the game being free to play is literally having 0 barriers, since I doubt the devs do combined IP and hardware bans

I can honestly say it's been a long time since I played a game where you can feel the cheating happening so often. Every single game I will get killed a handful of time through objects and cover. One time I even saw an enemy apparently spawn in through a ceiling behind a squad that was backed into a dead end, I insta died and the cam appeared to show an enemy descend through the roof behind a group of like 10 guys, and he just mowed everyone down from behind, I was like WTF! I regulary get zoom aim killed when I'm prone behind cover with a machine gun of some kind by someone that is also prone on the other side of that cover and often behind other cover themselves.

Anticheat developrs are going in a wrong direction.
Ricochet anticheat does the best, they mostly implement ingame detections, not outside detections.
Like the server can spawn in a real player based character in front of behind an object that only you can see, when you are more suspicious than others, or align a few people trough walls. If you shoot it, you are banned.
It is really effective to trick the cheat developers than counter them.
