Warhammer Warcry Cypher Lords Warband Painting

- In this video I walk through my process for painting the new Cypher Lords warband, for Warhammer Warcry from Games Workshop. I make use of some cool colorshift paints from Green Stuff World in the process.
Sorry about the editing on this one - I need to get better at centering the miniature in the shot while I'm painting. Also you can hear my son unloading our dishwasher towards the end :D

Stunning!!!!!
WOW!!!! What a good color scheme! :-) You found a way to work a ton of striking colors into the models and make them all work together really well. I was thinking that you were an absolute madman for saving the flesh color for the end, but it worked out great and it was super satisfying to see them all come together. Awesome Warband!!!
Goobertown Hobbies thank you sir! Quite happy with how they turned out.
Just bought the Slaves to Darkness Cypher Lords and want to give a try to these vallejo ink and citadel contrast paints. Your guide is a blessing and the results are amazing
Beautiful results
Love your work
Looks like the mood rings from the 70’s
Very nice, so cleanly completed 😍
Merry Christmas!!
I wish these minis, and a lot of the warcry minis, didnt have so much crazy stuff on their heads. I love the way you painted them though.
These look incredible man
Awesome use of those paints! I love the way they turned out man!
Thank you :D
Another great video tutorial, Jarrett. I'd love to see these techniques on 1K Sons Rubric Marines
. So rad.
You're back! I have missed your videos a bunch! Very few videos can I sit through and watch someone else paint, but you have a good set up!
Miguel Mora thank you!
Everytime you upload I get a little happier.
Jesse Hammil thanks, that's nice of you to say!
Awesome color scheme! I really love the look of the warband.
This is an amazing video! Thank you so much. I was thinking this kind of color scheme already, and this solidifies some ideas.
Great Work again. I love these models, especially the third hidden arm holding a grenade...Well thought out.
amazing job
These look amazing. And I have to say I really enjoy your narration style.
ReallyBigBadAndy76 thank you :)
Wow..... WOW, Just Awesome!! 👊🏻
Tom D thanks!
Have to say, I didn't particularly like the look of these models when they were originally announced, but you have converted me. Great colours, and great video. Keep up the great work.
Nice work Dude.
Great video, love that you are using the GSW color-shift paints. I have found that their other product (Airbrush masking putty) is super easy to use and basically lasts forever. (Somewhere in between silly putty and Blue-Tac in consistency.) Also for painting batch troops I use the hobby holder from Game Envy. You just Blue-tac each figure to a bottle cap which then screws into the hobby holder. Even if you don't use the hobby holder the cap is something to hold onto instead of the base or mini.
Rob Harget I’ll have to try it!
Lovely work. The colour shift paints and game ink are lovely but the contrast flesh let you down.
tokoloshgolem oh! I kinda like it.
I think you pulled that off pretty well. I haven't seen the color shift paints in hand yet. I imagine they are difficult to film.
rustedbeetle very :)
Dude !
I dread the mistake-fixing phase .... cuz I'm likely to make more mistakes!
Brilliant!!!
And I really like the music. That often spoils a complete video.
Di Pal thanks! I stole the acoustic guitar vibe from Goobertown Hobbies 😂
do you have any brush recommendations? I just started painting and the citadel brushes that came with the sets arent that good.
I find colour shifts from Turbo Dork are more intense than the ones from GSW or SpasStixx.
Also, I found Stynylrez glossy black primer best when working with colour shifts
naphaneal unfortunately didn’t have any of those.
Thanks for the tutorial, great work! Have you had any success with brush painting the color-shift paints?
JS Idaho not really to be honest, though I haven’t tried much
Looks fantastic! The color shift is a great touch. Really gives that Egyptian feel. Stupid question... are you stirring or shaking the contrast pots? I've tried the flesh tone straight from the pot and it gave almost a very reddish color to the face, even when I used the medium to thin it done. Wasn't sure what I did wrong
Matt Cappelli hm, that's odd! I just give them a good shake.
The MiniJunkie yeah, not sure what happened. Maybe I put too much on. I'm going to give it another shot and hope for the best. Thanks for the reply!
please do corvus cabal! their black feather is so hard
Yu Arthur I didn't receive my order yet and going on a short holiday so it could be a while. I agree the feathers will be tricky
@@TheMiniJunkie will be really looking forward to that tutorial, wonder what awesome tips you will give us
Those straps were definitely tiresome. I'm painting my guys with a mix of Contrast and Classic paints as well, and I did the straps with the latter as I'm not confident enough in controlling contrast paint on really small surfaces. Abbadon Black and a layer/edge of Eshin Grey on top, so imagine doing all that work twice, lol.
