I do hope the quality we see in this image truly is what we will see on the dolls. There are a few things I'm not completely sold on, but overall I LOVE them. Their eyes, to me, are the prettiest we've seen from Monster High. There is just so much detail and brightness to them. Overall, I can't wait to see these hit store shelves. Hope the fans will actually give this reboot a chance
People hate that it’s different but they are detailed, articulate, and have more body representation which was a huge critique back in the day. I am so excited to collect these when they release! I am worried seeing the price is $25 instead of the original $40 from the 2010 releases. I hope they are of a good quality 😊 and the sets I’m seeing previewed are very impressive as well!

It's been a huge frustration for me to see this generation get so much hate and I like that I always know you'll have at least a few good things to say about most dolls. I'm beyond thrilled to be able to follow this new generation, as I didn't get to follow monster high as a kid. I've been saving for months to buy as many of the new dolls as I can when they release. I just wish other people would be more optimistic and less entitled when it come to these dolls. Collectors aren't owed anything from toy companies. I'm honestly very excited that mh will be on the shelves in 2022, regardless of what they may look like.
Personally I still hate them. I feel like the made them chubby and too childish. The older dolls looked really mature for their age as they are teenagers. I feel like they kinda threw the older collectors to the side
People are hating because it’s different. I am super excited from seeing what representation they have, the sets that are coming, and the price point. The price point does worry me as being $25 instead of $40 like they used to be makes me scared that the quality is still going to be lower than I’d want :(
I’m quite happy with the look of these movie style dolls. These are worlds better then reboot MonsterHigh dolls and am excited to see more and hope this is a sign of the quality of the released dolls.
It's such a different look I don't even know if I can criticize it except that Draculaura looks like that one Bratzillaz, Frankie looks like a grayscale Venus, and Clawdeen looks like one of her youngest sisters. I'm not anxious to start collecting these, not saying I won't be getting any at all, but it'll have to be a character or sub theme that really stands out.
they're so cute idc what anyone else says. Obviously these are older since apparently these have been on the site for almost a year so things have probably changed. But still excited!! and you're so right about the quality of G1. Literally everyone is wearing a dress, heels, and a plastic belt, & maybe a necklace. don't get be wrong they're cute usually but once you start to notice it, it is everywhere.
I love what I see already and I’m so excited 😊 it feels like the core of what MH became at its high point. Even the new sets I’m seeing look scary-chic! Just in time for Halloween >:))

These dolls look like they do a great job of maintaining the heart of what made MH unique as distinctly monster dolls while also firing with current trends and styles of doll lines today. If you look at a property like my little pony you see such a drastic change in designs from reboots over the years, so seeing MH being willing to take that drastic a change to its look gives me hope for the longevity of the line beyond the original dolls. I’m excited to see if this new body type works better for swapping in clothes from other lines, because the original MH bodies are so frustrating to try and restyle outfits on in any way.
Tbh ever since the reboot got announced i promised to myself to not have any expectations and keep in mind they weren't going to be the same thing and k think that has kept me very excited for what's to come and tbh i really like them, they may be different but they also remind me of other doll lines like hello kitty and friends and cave club which i also collect so i don't mind the change a lot
Unpopular opinion coming through! When the rebooted monster high came out with the sweeter puppy-eyed faces, I thought they looked adorable. Face-up artists like Nicolle’s Dreams at the time made the monster high dolls more likable to a different audience (new and bjd audience) and Mattel seemed to have responded to that. The 3D movie that came out with the reboot was also adorable. But the monster high community… It was so toxic and mean that I stopped collecting after getting about 4 dolls. All the reviews were so hateful and rude and if you liked it, you weren’t a “true Monster High fan.” There was quite a bit of bullying such as “if you want sweet girls, go collect ever after high dolls and gtfo”. Monster high dolls in their prime just weren’t for me. The gothic look didn’t catch my interest since it looked like overly caked on makeup. But the new looks pique my interest. Which is why… if this revel turns out to be true, I am very excited to get my hands on them ^^
I didn’t like the low quality paint, clothes, lack of articulation, and re-writing of an established canon when they made the “little sisters” It felt forced and disappointing because it strays from the point of them being fashion dolls for pre-teens+, not intended really for the under 10 crowd. I think it frustrated many people as it comes off them trying to make MH into Barbie. I didnt want to add any of that collection to mine because it didn’t feel like MH. Th new reboot, fundamentally, feels like it hits the core of what MH is all about. I love the representation and I’m in LOVE with the smiles, as long as the quality holds up I CANT WAIT to add these to my collection. They’re adorable and look like actual teens!
I can definitely say that they aren't for me. But I'm looking forward to your videos on them! I think they're really going to resonate with kids and certain collectors.
Cleo and Draculaura look the best to me, based on the leaked 2022 reboot dolls. Out of the reboot characters, I will probably get at least Cleo, since I already have at least one Cleo from the original line and one from the 2016 reboot, and having a Cleo from each version is a goal of mine. Most of them will take a lot of getting used to for me though. I hope that the rest of the characters and the actual show are decent as well. And I'm glad Cleo and Ghoulia are getting reproduction dolls, because I always wanted an original Ghoulia, but could never find one for non-scalper pieces.
Personally I actually really like them, especially Draculaura and Clawdeen. I wish Frankie had the side of their hair pulled back or something instead of having it shaved but so far I like them! really hope they're released in the UK though, cause I'd definitely try to get them!
Finally some positive feedback on these ghouls!! They look so so cute draculaura im most excited for!! I LOVE Draculaura the most characters look wise. But I really love these new faces and can not wait to customize them and to see how others customize them! Also curious if they have the OG MH body or a new one?
I'm in between loving and hating these. On one hand, I do think these new designs are pretty cute, and the fashions are solid, but on the other hand, I'm a big fan of the original Monster High, and it's pretty hard seeing these dolls that aren't even using the classic Monster High molds take their place. Also, I really hope they can fit OG Monster high clothes and vice-versa.
Don’t get me wrong, they are cute ! But… the thing is that we grew up with MH so we expected the new reboot to bring back the original backstory, doll’s face screening and animation (from what we could have seen with the Skullectors, Creeproduction, etc…)that were really good in terms of quality. Some people (like me) can’t see the original MH turning into something else that doesn’t look like the original ‘’thing’’ anymore. Personally, I think these dolls are cute even tho they don’t look like the original MH, but from what I’ve seen and experienced by growing up with MH, I cannot consider them as MH (ik it’s weird). I see it as a new brand with the exact same name, characters and stuff but kinda downgraded (kinda like the EAH/Descendants situation if yk what I mean even if imo they’re both really good). Edit: Draculaura is really good, just the eyes are kinda underwhelming’ (Sorry for my english if I made any mistakes, lmk ! lol)
And now it's time for a new generation to grow up with these. It's the playline based on the Nickelodeon art. Who do you think Nickelodeon and Mattel's demographic is? The creeproductions and collectors stuff will still happen you'll just probably not get a series or a show because even the shows and movies back then were made for a younger demographic, you just grew up but didn't outgrow it and neither did I. That doesn't mean Mattel must stagnate for you or I. Monster high is supposed to be about loving every new ghoul freaky flaws and all. Our generation loved monster high because we saw ourselves and our freaky flaws in them but the new generation are different individuals from us with new styles and different freaky flaws, new societal challenges and social difficulties. Do you really want to get what you want at the expense of having them have no representations to identify with? I wouldn't want to rob my child of that. I want to be able to play with my creeproduction Frankie with the new one with my child and not have them feel lesser or like they have to live up to anything.
@@rafitouuu what I've noticed is nostalgia makes you look at things with rose tinted glasses, monster high was great aesthetically for the time period it existed in within the past when it aimed at a different generation but quality control wise there was a lot of issues I overlooked because I love the characters and was young and didn't understand the process of design and still don't fully, art or that I had to examine the product more critically as a collector because I was a child and had no expectations. I didn't know I needed monster high until it released the first time ever and challenged public expectations of a fashion doll. These new dolls are good and you can't judge them like you're doing by looking at one picture. And it's incredibly rude of you to say hoping for "better" like I'm sorry but have you ever considered the artists, story board team and factory workers that tirelessly work to bring a piece of art to life? Maybe people need to step away from comparison and understand that art can be different from expectations and still be beautiful within it's own right. Artists shouldn't have to compromise their stylised way of doing things, their signature to meet your expectations which you based on another artists work. And I don't blame factory workers for defective products, the demand places immense pressure on them to meet a quota by a deadline. There is nothing wrong with politely taking something back or aiming to fix it yourself. You can dislike something and still be respectful and understand the journey.
@@saphirothplaysbad4708 about quality control, I can’t tell you bc I was little so I didn’t pay attention to that but I when I started following doll content, I noticed the majority says that there were a lot of quality control issues and I was suprised but also not bc I didn’t have that knowledge back then but now I do. And I can tell you that even with the new generation MH dolls, if they’re mass-produced, there’s going to have quality control issues for sure as it is for every doll’s lines so yeah. Just look at the Skullector dolls, they were supposed to be high-quality but it turns out that few people got them with defects, so not only mass-produced ones but also collectors and you can’t tell me otherwise.

Honestly they don’t look bad honestly, Frankie’s is fine, not the worst, Draculura looks so good, definitely my favorite, Clawdeen looks very nice too! I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on the franchise finally, cause personally I didn’t collect the original monster high dolls back then
I expected nothing from this reboot, I thought I wasn't even gonna like the movie, but oh boy, I was so wrong and I'm so here for this new generation. It makes me so sad the amount of hate I see surrounding it, and it's frustrating that's coming from allegedly original fans since monster high always shared a message of tolerance and not being judgemental of what's different, even if this reboot it's not for you, you can't deny it has a lot of heart and love put in it. And it's definitely meant for a new generation, I hate that people is hating on the new movie as if the original mh movies were some kind of masterpiece, and don't get me wrong, I know they aren't perfect and were meant for kids but I still love them, just like I still love this new approach they're making with the franchise. It feels so good to watch someone not hating on these and giving them an opportunity, cause I really love what I've been seeing so far and makes me really excited, but it makes me feel bad not being able to share my feelings cause every time I try to say I like it people tell me I'm blind for liking "this thing".

This was super refreshing , I completely agree with you that these dolls are wonderful. Here's the difference in my opinion the original reboot dumbed the dolls down , it took something that was beloved and without warning made them worse. Made them poor quality , cheap and not representative of the dolls. This line is for a new generation , it's for the omg and rainbow high generation and this is a much different clientele. I love original monster high, don't get me wrong but I can also understand that these dolls should not be the originals! They need to be different to compete in the doll market today. I'm excited for the future of the doll line , I only hope that Mattel recognizes that quality is key and if MGA can CONSISTANTLY bring us incredible quality them they have to do that to have any chance to compete.
Frankie having the agender flag in their hair is so cute, hope they are stocked in the uk because I'd love to have them! It's so frustrating seeing people say this generation is terrible because it isn't how they remembered, I imagine it's hard for a lot of mh fans growing out of the target demographic with a franchise that didn't already have a history/expectation for revamps (like my little pony or even legend of zelda etc) but its upsetting seeing people deny that kids now "deserve" to have a show/characters/dolls that speak to them and their experiences and interests.
I must admit I wasn’t feeling them, but now that I’ve been looking at them for a couple days and loving it. It is a new monster high and it’s hard but I’m optimistic and I’m actually really loving the designs
They did a great job of making them look relevant to this generation. I personally think the first wave has been the best wave, but change is necessary.
i saw some posts that people wished that mh would've gone the way of bratz, more catering to the old, now adult, fanbase. and although i understand the sentiment, i think it's nice that the dolls are produced with a new audience in mind. i think that we probably fell in love with these dolls as kids or teenagers, and i think it's really nice that a new generation is getting that chance also! i really like it when playline dolls make their dolls with a younger audience in mind, because i feel like for playline dolls the kids should come first, you know? and also i feel like when doll lines, like with bratz and some of the more recent mh releases, if they cater to collectors they will also drive up the prices immensely, excluding kids even more. draculaura has always been my fave, and i love this look for her!

I’m a collector of the original dolls back in the day, and hot take, I’m loving what I see. The price is ridiculously low actually from what I’m seeing so I’m nervous to see the quality, but the articulation and new designs with more representation for body types and disabilities is phenomenal! I LOVE how Frankie is an amputee! It’s really unique! A lot of people don’t love lagoons but I think she’s cute. They’re stylized with smiles but with a quality I’ve come to expect from MH. I am def ordering these dolls once they drop! I’m excited to get back into collecting :D
I know I’m in the minority, but I LOVE THESE idc, idc This almost makes up for me not being able to get the reproduction ones (no Walmarts in my area had them). I didn’t grow up with these dolls and even when I started my collection, I was too busy with other doll lines to really invest in them. So I’m really hype for Monster High to come back and experience the fun I hadn’t before. I do understand why some people may not like these, especially since these are def different from the OGs. But I’m still very happy to get my hands on these soon. The one I want the most is Draculaura!
I love them so much too! I can't find any reasonably priced originals online and the reproduction dolls were so expensive so sadly I couldn't get any! Hopefully these ones are good priced cuz I definitely want to get one to fulfill ny childhood dreams. Draculaura was my favorite as a kid and I wanna get the new one too!

I know they're getting a lot of hate already but I just... I don't know why they needed to go this direction at all. This drastic reboot is just very unnecessary to me and it's something no one wanted. They kind of remind me of Barbie Extra dolls and I don't mean that as a compliment. I wish they'd just stuck to what made MH great in the first place and stopped trying to make them less...well, less monster-y.
I do really, really like the overall idea of these dolls! They look cute. Any hesitation I have will be swallowed down until I see them in person. I wonder if the biggest reason to why a lot of fans of the older generation is mainly coming from the fact that MH had more plans that never got wrapped up (Ever After High crossover movie, particularly. That would have been interesting to see fleshed out), so many loose threads without a proper send off and clarification that the ghouls we grew up with and knew well will be fine (tbh I always *loved* the idea of having some sort of conclusion where we got to see them all graduate and subtly show us the audience how the characters grew from when we first met them and say the classic motto. I’m a sucker for cheesy cliches…) even if this turns out it isn’t for me at all, I hope that this version is just as successful and loved for today’s kids. It’s like passing down a box of years worth of loved and cherished items. In the end that’s what really matters about Monster High.
I think one of the reasons the new reboot is getting so much hate is that MH fans that grew up with the doll line didn't expect a total redesign/reimagining. Fandoms like my little pony know the toys and media will be changed to appeal to the new generation of kids, but since Monster High seemed to be the one big generation with unfortunate budget cuts at the end of it no one expected a new cannon or doll style when it "returned to form"

The dolls, even to some extent the reboot ones also, have a unique look to them that no other doll brand can fully copy without it being noticed in hand. The Haunt couture dolls might have had everyone further believe that we were going to get a continuation instead of another reboot. It’ll be interesting to see where this version goes, regardless! Only time will tell :)
Frankie’s face is gorgeous. I’m sure the actual doll will look a lot better in the display box and in person but the photo does look off for some reason.
Frankie is my favorite character and i'm not a fan of the new look. I need the preppy look back and her hair to be even on both sides. I'm so fucking serious. I don't want to have to change their look when i get them but ig that's what's gonna happen. But otherwise the new details on Clawdeen and Drac is amazing. I love the change in their ears and nose. I also like how they all evidently look different from each other from the shape of their noses or lips. I still don't know how to feel about drac being a witch tho, it's kinda really ehhh the quality looks pretty good overall tho On the closer look i don't think i'm a fan of Clawdeen's style as well. She definitely suits a more galmorous style than a farmer girl nerdy look. I'm a huge fan of the face molds and new details on their body, but my main issues are really the fashion styling on them.
I appreciate that they at least made the Draculaura doll clearly Filipino like the movie, still hate that they un-Romanianized her in the first place though
I hope when these boom/sell really well that Mattel will make better dolls and more articulation and details. Don't get me wrong some of the Fashionista's in the past couple years are cute but a lot of the play lines are not it. I really hope Mattel sees and does that
They look dope! Love how detailed they are. My one complaint is the nose paint on clawdeen. It just doesn't look right to me. Thankfully, that should be easily cleared up with some acetone

I don't have anything to say on the MH dolls aside from I like their eyes and they are more appealing than the old ones and the re-release you were showing the other day. But what I DO have to say is, having only been around since March, the doll community is kind of a downer. I don't wanna throw around "toxic" a lot, but the attitudes are pretty negative quite often and it's surprising. I figured people that loved children's toys wouldn't be acting like kids, but would at least be more understanding and objective to understand that "I don't like this" is not synonymous with "this is objectively bad". The kind of adult reasoning adults can do, instead of reactionary hate. But like you kinda mentioned at the end, it seems to be the opposite. There are many dolls I don't like, even in RH, which is my fave doll line. Every doll I dislike, or don't want to customize, I just take it as money saved and move on. There are some doll lines out there I find truly offputting, I don't remember the name, but they were on my insta feed the other day, anyway, I just know what not to buy. Not like... hate train. And I truly get the nostalgia, I grew up with Gen 1 MLP, Polly Pocket, and LPS. Doesn't mean I bother to hate on the current gens, some 40 years later, for entirely different children. Just means I ask my mom if she's got any of my old toys still and hope the realistic LPS made it since the late 80s. Idk, it's early and this is long, sorry. I just.... Brooke, it's a lot nicer to be around you than a lot of instagram, is my point.
I am actually so hype for the movie and the new dolls, og fans we had our time now it’s time for something new! And there nothing wrong with that, I’m just so happy to see Minster high being alive again, my first opinion is the fashion, in og monster high the fashion was very 2000s kind of goth, now in the reboot we actually have a more modern sort of goth/alternative look which you actually see most people wearing, Frankie’s pronouns was a very good way to introduce a trans character, Frankie is made up of different body parts so it’s honestly makes a lot of sense for Frankie to use they/them, if we date back to og draculaura we know that her mum passed away. How did we not know that her mum was actually a witch considering the era draculaura was born? I think it’s a really cool new touch to her character. Overall it’s not what we thought but we got something and I’m just happy to be living this experience again, seeing Minster high on the shelves it’s exciting!
I don't get to comment on your videos often since I usually watch them on my roku, but I just wanted to say that your perspective is always very refreshing, especially compared to a lot of the adult collectors in the community. I've been scrolling through some of the doll groups on facebook and it seems like the majority of people are upset with this reboot. I really love the dolls, and I was someone who only bought a handful of G2 dolls. I think this a pretty fresh take on the MH concept and the quality looks muck better than what MH offered even at their height. I saw a few people talking about how it's ridiculous that they're trying to make Clawdeen the lead (which is very sus to me since she's the only main black character), and there was a lot of hate about Frankie being non-binary. You're right about these characters being new interpretations, but as a trans woman who didn't really fully figure out my identity until I was deep into my 20s, realizing your gender identity is absolutely something that can change over time so this isn't strange even if we do view these characters as the same ones from 2010. I did see a lot of complaints about Clawdeen wearing glasses, and again that's something that can change over time, too. It's funny how some people are also upset because they think all 3 share a face mold, but that's clearly not the case. I've been collecting dolls since 2004ish, but at this point I feel like your channel is one of the last bastions of sanity in the community.
draculara is the only one i kinda like the outher 2 are not for me. draculara alwauys been my fave mostly bc my fave color is pink. i think it would be interseting to see if they could shair clothing with og monster high dolls.i relly wish they would have kept the og face sculpts. the outfits do look nice tho.
I have been collecting MH dolls since 2011, so the first reboot was for me a signal that I am tired to collect this series. During the reboot the dolls got something extra, a new accents, like molded furry, scales or etc. Even if Abbey still hasn't gotten enough height as Yeti, Marisol got everything in this, hight, molded furry and made this subject complete. We got a lots of characters, through an animals type, sea creatures, by even Alien, and it stopped in that full moment. The first reboot was soft, but had also something destroying ... Now We got something totally new, the second reboot carries a seperate way of the line, and yes, maybe it presents nice by an own way, the dolls are preety, like from a video game, but with MH they have common only the tittle, so people can feel dissapointed. Personally I expected that We will get instead of the second reboot a classic ones, which We got as well according to the first release, but I thought that they will stay as a new base and there they will release a new students, or new release of Isi, Batsy Astranova, this characters, which didn't get too many dolls. But ok, It will show what will be. I am not very interested of collect another reboot at the moment, even if that reboot sometimes is good or needed, and gives a something fresh, but if old was good too and there was a space for more and also new, why to change it that much? Maybe a few dolls I will buy if They will have something really interesting. And I try be honest, because similar dilemmas I had with the first reboot and I didn't buy to many dolls then, and now I have that dilemmas again, but even much more. Maybe if they will release a new Robecca dolls, unique characters, not another over and over again Frankie, Draculaura, Clawdeen...I know, I know They are the main characters, but for me Robecca and Lagoona are much more impressive. Maybe I am just tired of collecting MH dolls, maybe it's good that they do another reboot, hope the reboot will be the same good as the classic or even only more good.
For the moment I’m just bothered by how big Draculauras eyes and lips are, how strange Frankie faces is and I absolutely hates Clawdeen because this is not how a fashionable werewolf would look like.. I’m still waiting for the drop of the dolls to see the changes and I can’t wait for lagoona and Toralei as dolls because they look so SO stunning
i love them all, but frankies skin colour is just so baffling to me! the other two look related to their live action counterparts, but frankie is just the most completely different, so i wonder what direction they’re taking them in
LOVE draculaura, love clawdeen, STRONGLY dislike frankie's new look. I honestly really like this generation of monster high and i LOVE that they are still giving my generation a taste of the old monster high. I hate that people who grew up with it are giving it soooo much hate... It saddens me... you have to also rememeber that there are new brands of dolls that they have to compete with. i love og monster high but based on these dolls i'm going to love this gen of them too. As an og fan , like MH was a cornerstone of my childhood, the negative reaction is a bit dramatic for me😅 these dolls are absolutely adorable as a new generation and Era of this franchise. If you were expecting a copy of the 2010 ogs you were setting yourself up for disappointment from the jump. This isn't Garrett Sanders Monster High(as muc we love it) , it's something new.

i absolutely love them all, but not for representing the actual characters. both frankie and clawdeen just don’t have the essence of their original characters. that does make me worry a little :/ edit: i think if frankie had a tie, no shaved side, greener skin, and clawdeens hair was darker it would a lot better imo :)

My Opinion On The Dolls Draclaura= I love her but I don’t like how they are making her a sorceress and giving her witchy vibes like the hat a change that didn’t need to happen but apart from that she’s my fav out of the dolls and I love her new hair I think the spilt looks better then her streaks Clawdeen= I don’t know The doll looks nice but I don’t like her glasses Not the fact they gave her glasses I think that’s fine I am talking about the design of her glasses the color looks strange to me I think black glasses or make them more of a golden color because they look more yellow to me I do like how they added a wolf nose though Frankie= I don’t know why exactly but I don’t like this doll I think It’s the face looks off to me

I do hope the quality we see in this image truly is what we will see on the dolls. There are a few things I'm not completely sold on, but overall I LOVE them. Their eyes, to me, are the prettiest we've seen from Monster High. There is just so much detail and brightness to them. Overall, I can't wait to see these hit store shelves. Hope the fans will actually give this reboot a chance

People hate that it’s different but they are detailed, articulate, and have more body representation which was a huge critique back in the day. I am so excited to collect these when they release! I am worried seeing the price is $25 instead of the original $40 from the 2010 releases. I hope they are of a good quality 😊 and the sets I’m seeing previewed are very impressive as well!

It's been a huge frustration for me to see this generation get so much hate and I like that I always know you'll have at least a few good things to say about most dolls. I'm beyond thrilled to be able to follow this new generation, as I didn't get to follow monster high as a kid. I've been saving for months to buy as many of the new dolls as I can when they release. I just wish other people would be more optimistic and less entitled when it come to these dolls. Collectors aren't owed anything from toy companies. I'm honestly very excited that mh will be on the shelves in 2022, regardless of what they may look like.
Personally I still hate them. I feel like the made them chubby and too childish. The older dolls looked really mature for their age as they are teenagers. I feel like they kinda threw the older collectors to the side
People are hating because it’s different. I am super excited from seeing what representation they have, the sets that are coming, and the price point. The price point does worry me as being $25 instead of $40 like they used to be makes me scared that the quality is still going to be lower than I’d want :(
I’m quite happy with the look of these movie style dolls. These are worlds better then reboot MonsterHigh dolls and am excited to see more and hope this is a sign of the quality of the released dolls.
It's such a different look I don't even know if I can criticize it except that Draculaura looks like that one Bratzillaz, Frankie looks like a grayscale Venus, and Clawdeen looks like one of her youngest sisters. I'm not anxious to start collecting these, not saying I won't be getting any at all, but it'll have to be a character or sub theme that really stands out.

and you're so right about the quality of G1. Literally everyone is wearing a dress, heels, and a plastic belt, & maybe a necklace. don't get be wrong they're cute usually but once you start to notice it, it is everywhere.

That has to be intentional, and I love it so much.
These dolls look like they do a great job of maintaining the heart of what made MH unique as distinctly monster dolls while also firing with current trends and styles of doll lines today. If you look at a property like my little pony you see such a drastic change in designs from reboots over the years, so seeing MH being willing to take that drastic a change to its look gives me hope for the longevity of the line beyond the original dolls. I’m excited to see if this new body type works better for swapping in clothes from other lines, because the original MH bodies are so frustrating to try and restyle outfits on in any way.

Tbh ever since the reboot got announced i promised to myself to not have any expectations and keep in mind they weren't going to be the same thing and k think that has kept me very excited for what's to come and tbh i really like them, they may be different but they also remind me of other doll lines like hello kitty and friends and cave club which i also collect so i don't mind the change a lot

When the rebooted monster high came out with the sweeter puppy-eyed faces, I thought they looked adorable. Face-up artists like Nicolle’s Dreams at the time made the monster high dolls more likable to a different audience (new and bjd audience) and Mattel seemed to have responded to that. The 3D movie that came out with the reboot was also adorable.
But the monster high community…
It was so toxic and mean that I stopped collecting after getting about 4 dolls. All the reviews were so hateful and rude and if you liked it, you weren’t a “true Monster High fan.” There was quite a bit of bullying such as “if you want sweet girls, go collect ever after high dolls and gtfo”.
Monster high dolls in their prime just weren’t for me. The gothic look didn’t catch my interest since it looked like overly caked on makeup. But the new looks pique my interest. Which is why… if this revel turns out to be true, I am very excited to get my hands on them ^^
I didn’t like the low quality paint, clothes, lack of articulation, and re-writing of an established canon when they made the “little sisters”
It felt forced and disappointing because it strays from the point of them being fashion dolls for pre-teens+, not intended really for the under 10 crowd. I think it frustrated many people as it comes off them trying to make MH into Barbie.
I didnt want to add any of that collection to mine because it didn’t feel like MH. Th new reboot, fundamentally, feels like it hits the core of what MH is all about. I love the representation and I’m in LOVE with the smiles, as long as the quality holds up I CANT WAIT to add these to my collection. They’re adorable and look like actual teens!
I can definitely say that they aren't for me. But I'm looking forward to your videos on them! I think they're really going to resonate with kids and certain collectors.

Cleo and Draculaura look the best to me, based on the leaked 2022 reboot dolls. Out of the reboot characters, I will probably get at least Cleo, since I already have at least one Cleo from the original line and one from the 2016 reboot, and having a Cleo from each version is a goal of mine. Most of them will take a lot of getting used to for me though. I hope that the rest of the characters and the actual show are decent as well. And I'm glad Cleo and Ghoulia are getting reproduction dolls, because I always wanted an original Ghoulia, but could never find one for non-scalper pieces.
Personally I actually really like them, especially Draculaura and Clawdeen. I wish Frankie had the side of their hair pulled back or something instead of having it shaved but so far I like them! really hope they're released in the UK though, cause I'd definitely try to get them!

But regardless these three look so cute and it’s been such a bummer seeing constant negativity within the community an not giving these a chance which btw THEY ARENT EVEN OUT!, I’m so so scared that fans who just hate change an won’t actually reason with these dolls will ruin it for those actually looking forward to monster high again🥺!, like the movie I kinda love it so far from what clips I’ve seen! I'm in between loving and hating these. On one hand, I do think these new designs are pretty cute, and the fashions are solid, but on the other hand, I'm a big fan of the original Monster High, and it's pretty hard seeing these dolls that aren't even using the classic Monster High molds take their place. Also, I really hope they can fit OG Monster high clothes and vice-versa.

Don’t get me wrong, they are cute ! But… the thing is that we grew up with MH so we expected the new reboot to bring back the original backstory, doll’s face screening and animation (from what we could have seen with the Skullectors, Creeproduction, etc…)that were really good in terms of quality. Some people (like me) can’t see the original MH turning into something else that doesn’t look like the original ‘’thing’’ anymore. Personally, I think these dolls are cute even tho they don’t look like the original MH, but from what I’ve seen and experienced by growing up with MH, I cannot consider them as MH (ik it’s weird). I see it as a new brand with the exact same name, characters and stuff but kinda downgraded (kinda like the EAH/Descendants situation if yk what I mean even if imo they’re both really good).
Edit: Draculaura is really good, just the eyes are kinda underwhelming’

And now it's time for a new generation to grow up with these. It's the playline based on the Nickelodeon art. Who do you think Nickelodeon and Mattel's demographic is? The creeproductions and collectors stuff will still happen you'll just probably not get a series or a show because even the shows and movies back then were made for a younger demographic, you just grew up but didn't outgrow it and neither did I. That doesn't mean Mattel must stagnate for you or I. Monster high is supposed to be about loving every new ghoul freaky flaws and all. Our generation loved monster high because we saw ourselves and our freaky flaws in them but the new generation are different individuals from us with new styles and different freaky flaws, new societal challenges and social difficulties. Do you really want to get what you want at the expense of having them have no representations to identify with? I wouldn't want to rob my child of that. I want to be able to play with my creeproduction Frankie with the new one with my child and not have them feel lesser or like they have to live up to anything.

@@rafitouuu what I've noticed is nostalgia makes you look at things with rose tinted glasses, monster high was great aesthetically for the time period it existed in within the past when it aimed at a different generation but quality control wise there was a lot of issues I overlooked because I love the characters and was young and didn't understand the process of design and still don't fully, art or that I had to examine the product more critically as a collector because I was a child and had no expectations. I didn't know I needed monster high until it released the first time ever and challenged public expectations of a fashion doll. These new dolls are good and you can't judge them like you're doing by looking at one picture. And it's incredibly rude of you to say hoping for "better" like I'm sorry but have you ever considered the artists, story board team and factory workers that tirelessly work to bring a piece of art to life? Maybe people need to step away from comparison and understand that art can be different from expectations and still be beautiful within it's own right. Artists shouldn't have to compromise their stylised way of doing things, their signature to meet your expectations which you based on another artists work. And I don't blame factory workers for defective products, the demand places immense pressure on them to meet a quota by a deadline. There is nothing wrong with politely taking something back or aiming to fix it yourself. You can dislike something and still be respectful and understand the journey.

And I can tell you that even with the new generation MH dolls, if they’re mass-produced, there’s going to have quality control issues for sure as it is for every doll’s lines so yeah. Just look at the Skullector dolls, they were supposed to be high-quality but it turns out that few people got them with defects, so not only mass-produced ones but also collectors and you can’t tell me otherwise.

Honestly they don’t look bad honestly, Frankie’s is fine, not the worst, Draculura looks so good, definitely my favorite, Clawdeen looks very nice too! I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on the franchise finally, cause personally I didn’t collect the original monster high dolls back then
I expected nothing from this reboot, I thought I wasn't even gonna like the movie, but oh boy, I was so wrong and I'm so here for this new generation.
It makes me so sad the amount of hate I see surrounding it, and it's frustrating that's coming from allegedly original fans since monster high always shared a message of tolerance and not being judgemental of what's different, even if this reboot it's not for you, you can't deny it has a lot of heart and love put in it. And it's definitely meant for a new generation, I hate that people is hating on the new movie as if the original mh movies were some kind of masterpiece, and don't get me wrong, I know they aren't perfect and were meant for kids but I still love them, just like I still love this new approach they're making with the franchise.
It feels so good to watch someone not hating on these and giving them an opportunity, cause I really love what I've been seeing so far and makes me really excited, but it makes me feel bad not being able to share my feelings cause every time I try to say I like it people tell me I'm blind for liking "this thing".

This was super refreshing , I completely agree with you that these dolls are wonderful. Here's the difference in my opinion the original reboot dumbed the dolls down , it took something that was beloved and without warning made them worse. Made them poor quality , cheap and not representative of the dolls. This line is for a new generation , it's for the omg and rainbow high generation and this is a much different clientele. I love original monster high, don't get me wrong but I can also understand that these dolls should not be the originals! They need to be different to compete in the doll market today. I'm excited for the future of the doll line , I only hope that Mattel recognizes that quality is key and if MGA can CONSISTANTLY bring us incredible quality them they have to do that to have any chance to compete.

It's so frustrating seeing people say this generation is terrible because it isn't how they remembered, I imagine it's hard for a lot of mh fans growing out of the target demographic with a franchise that didn't already have a history/expectation for revamps (like my little pony or even legend of zelda etc) but its upsetting seeing people deny that kids now "deserve" to have a show/characters/dolls that speak to them and their experiences and interests.
I must admit I wasn’t feeling them, but now that I’ve been looking at them for a couple days and loving it. It is a new monster high and it’s hard but I’m optimistic and I’m actually really loving the designs
They did a great job of making them look relevant to this generation. I personally think the first wave has been the best wave, but change is necessary.
i saw some posts that people wished that mh would've gone the way of bratz, more catering to the old, now adult, fanbase. and although i understand the sentiment, i think it's nice that the dolls are produced with a new audience in mind. i think that we probably fell in love with these dolls as kids or teenagers, and i think it's really nice that a new generation is getting that chance also! i really like it when playline dolls make their dolls with a younger audience in mind, because i feel like for playline dolls the kids should come first, you know? and also i feel like when doll lines, like with bratz and some of the more recent mh releases, if they cater to collectors they will also drive up the prices immensely, excluding kids even more. draculaura has always been my fave, and i love this look for her!

I’m a collector of the original dolls back in the day, and hot take, I’m loving what I see. The price is ridiculously low actually from what I’m seeing so I’m nervous to see the quality, but the articulation and new designs with more representation for body types and disabilities is phenomenal! I LOVE how Frankie is an amputee! It’s really unique! A lot of people don’t love lagoons but I think she’s cute. They’re stylized with smiles but with a quality I’ve come to expect from MH. I am def ordering these dolls once they drop! I’m excited to get back into collecting :D
I know I’m in the minority, but I LOVE THESE idc, idc This almost makes up for me not being able to get the reproduction ones (no Walmarts in my area had them). I didn’t grow up with these dolls and even when I started my collection, I was too busy with other doll lines to really invest in them. So I’m really hype for Monster High to come back and experience the fun I hadn’t before. I do understand why some people may not like these, especially since these are def different from the OGs. But I’m still very happy to get my hands on these soon. The one I want the most is Draculaura!

I know they're getting a lot of hate already but I just... I don't know why they needed to go this direction at all. This drastic reboot is just very unnecessary to me and it's something no one wanted. They kind of remind me of Barbie Extra dolls and I don't mean that as a compliment. I wish they'd just stuck to what made MH great in the first place and stopped trying to make them less...well, less monster-y.
I do really, really like the overall idea of these dolls! They look cute. Any hesitation I have will be swallowed down until I see them in person.
I wonder if the biggest reason to why a lot of fans of the older generation is mainly coming from the fact that MH had more plans that never got wrapped up (Ever After High crossover movie, particularly. That would have been interesting to see fleshed out), so many loose threads without a proper send off and clarification that the ghouls we grew up with and knew well will be fine (tbh I always *loved* the idea of having some sort of conclusion where we got to see them all graduate and subtly show us the audience how the characters grew from when we first met them and say the classic motto. I’m a sucker for cheesy cliches…) even if this turns out it isn’t for me at all, I hope that this version is just as successful and loved for today’s kids. It’s like passing down a box of years worth of loved and cherished items. In the end that’s what really matters about Monster High.
I think one of the reasons the new reboot is getting so much hate is that MH fans that grew up with the doll line didn't expect a total redesign/reimagining. Fandoms like my little pony know the toys and media will be changed to appeal to the new generation of kids, but since Monster High seemed to be the one big generation with unfortunate budget cuts at the end of it no one expected a new cannon or doll style when it "returned to form"

The dolls, even to some extent the reboot ones also, have a unique look to them that no other doll brand can fully copy without it being noticed in hand. The Haunt couture dolls might have had everyone further believe that we were going to get a continuation instead of another reboot. It’ll be interesting to see where this version goes, regardless! Only time will tell :)
Frankie’s face is gorgeous. I’m sure the actual doll will look a lot better in the display box and in person but the photo does look off for some reason.
Frankie is my favorite character and i'm not a fan of the new look. I need the preppy look back and her hair to be even on both sides. I'm so fucking serious. I don't want to have to change their look when i get them but ig that's what's gonna happen. But otherwise the new details on Clawdeen and Drac is amazing. I love the change in their ears and nose. I also like how they all evidently look different from each other from the shape of their noses or lips. I still don't know how to feel about drac being a witch tho, it's kinda really ehhh the quality looks pretty good overall tho
On the closer look i don't think i'm a fan of Clawdeen's style as well. She definitely suits a more galmorous style than a farmer girl nerdy look. I'm a huge fan of the face molds and new details on their body, but my main issues are really the fashion styling on them.
I appreciate that they at least made the Draculaura doll clearly Filipino like the movie, still hate that they un-Romanianized her in the first place though
I hope when these boom/sell really well that Mattel will make better dolls and more articulation and details. Don't get me wrong some of the Fashionista's in the past couple years are cute but a lot of the play lines are not it. I really hope Mattel sees and does that

I don't have anything to say on the MH dolls aside from I like their eyes and they are more appealing than the old ones and the re-release you were showing the other day. But what I DO have to say is, having only been around since March, the doll community is kind of a downer. I don't wanna throw around "toxic" a lot, but the attitudes are pretty negative quite often and it's surprising. I figured people that loved children's toys wouldn't be acting like kids, but would at least be more understanding and objective to understand that "I don't like this" is not synonymous with "this is objectively bad". The kind of adult reasoning adults can do, instead of reactionary hate. But like you kinda mentioned at the end, it seems to be the opposite. There are many dolls I don't like, even in RH, which is my fave doll line. Every doll I dislike, or don't want to customize, I just take it as money saved and move on. There are some doll lines out there I find truly offputting, I don't remember the name, but they were on my insta feed the other day, anyway, I just know what not to buy. Not like... hate train. And I truly get the nostalgia, I grew up with Gen 1 MLP, Polly Pocket, and LPS. Doesn't mean I bother to hate on the current gens, some 40 years later, for entirely different children. Just means I ask my mom if she's got any of my old toys still and hope the realistic LPS made it since the late 80s. Idk, it's early and this is long, sorry. I just.... Brooke, it's a lot nicer to be around you than a lot of instagram, is my point.

I am actually so hype for the movie and the new dolls, og fans we had our time now it’s time for something new! And there nothing wrong with that, I’m just so happy to see Minster high being alive again, my first opinion is the fashion, in og monster high the fashion was very 2000s kind of goth, now in the reboot we actually have a more modern sort of goth/alternative look which you actually see most people wearing, Frankie’s pronouns was a very good way to introduce a trans character, Frankie is made up of different body parts so it’s honestly makes a lot of sense for Frankie to use they/them, if we date back to og draculaura we know that her mum passed away. How did we not know that her mum was actually a witch considering the era draculaura was born? I think it’s a really cool new touch to her character. Overall it’s not what we thought but we got something and I’m just happy to be living this experience again, seeing Minster high on the shelves it’s exciting!
I don't get to comment on your videos often since I usually watch them on my roku, but I just wanted to say that your perspective is always very refreshing, especially compared to a lot of the adult collectors in the community. I've been scrolling through some of the doll groups on facebook and it seems like the majority of people are upset with this reboot. I really love the dolls, and I was someone who only bought a handful of G2 dolls. I think this a pretty fresh take on the MH concept and the quality looks muck better than what MH offered even at their height.
I saw a few people talking about how it's ridiculous that they're trying to make Clawdeen the lead (which is very sus to me since she's the only main black character), and there was a lot of hate about Frankie being non-binary. You're right about these characters being new interpretations, but as a trans woman who didn't really fully figure out my identity until I was deep into my 20s, realizing your gender identity is absolutely something that can change over time so this isn't strange even if we do view these characters as the same ones from 2010. I did see a lot of complaints about Clawdeen wearing glasses, and again that's something that can change over time, too.
It's funny how some people are also upset because they think all 3 share a face mold, but that's clearly not the case. I've been collecting dolls since 2004ish, but at this point I feel like your channel is one of the last bastions of sanity in the community.
I will say my only complaint is that the shaved side is a really dated trend at this point, for me at least lol
draculara is the only one i kinda like the outher 2 are not for me. draculara alwauys been my fave mostly bc my fave color is pink. i think it would be interseting to see if they could shair clothing with og monster high dolls.i relly wish they would have kept the og face sculpts. the outfits do look nice tho.

I have been collecting MH dolls since 2011, so the first reboot was for me a signal that I am tired to collect this series. During the reboot the dolls got something extra, a new accents, like molded furry, scales or etc. Even if Abbey still hasn't gotten enough height as Yeti, Marisol got everything in this, hight, molded furry and made this subject complete. We got a lots of characters, through an animals type, sea creatures, by even Alien, and it stopped in that full moment. The first reboot was soft, but had also something destroying ... Now We got something totally new, the second reboot carries a seperate way of the line, and yes, maybe it presents nice by an own way, the dolls are preety, like from a video game, but with MH they have common only the tittle, so people can feel dissapointed. Personally I expected that We will get instead of the second reboot a classic ones, which We got as well according to the first release, but I thought that they will stay as a new base and there they will release a new students, or new release of Isi, Batsy Astranova, this characters, which didn't get too many dolls. But ok, It will show what will be. I am not very interested of collect another reboot at the moment, even if that reboot sometimes is good or needed, and gives a something fresh, but if old was good too and there was a space for more and also new, why to change it that much? Maybe a few dolls I will buy if They will have something really interesting. And I try be honest, because similar dilemmas I had with the first reboot and I didn't buy to many dolls then, and now I have that dilemmas again, but even much more. Maybe if they will release a new Robecca dolls, unique characters, not another over and over again Frankie, Draculaura, Clawdeen...I know, I know They are the main characters, but for me Robecca and Lagoona are much more impressive. Maybe I am just tired of collecting MH dolls, maybe it's good that they do another reboot, hope the reboot will be the same good as the classic or even only more good.

For the moment I’m just bothered by how big Draculauras eyes and lips are, how strange Frankie faces is and I absolutely hates Clawdeen because this is not how a fashionable werewolf would look like.. I’m still waiting for the drop of the dolls to see the changes and I can’t wait for lagoona and Toralei as dolls because they look so SO stunning
i love them all, but frankies skin colour is just so baffling to me! the other two look related to their live action counterparts, but frankie is just the most completely different, so i wonder what direction they’re taking them in
These are 2021 prototypes so its likely that their skin is actually blue as shown in the animation and movie
It's a reboot not a revival I think that's where alot of fans lost the connection... The new dolls are cute I just need to get used to them.

LOVE draculaura, love clawdeen, STRONGLY dislike frankie's new look. I honestly really like this generation of monster high and i LOVE that they are still giving my generation a taste of the old monster high. I hate that people who grew up with it are giving it soooo much hate... It saddens me... you have to also rememeber that there are new brands of dolls that they have to compete with. i love og monster high but based on these dolls i'm going to love this gen of them too. (edit: im also so excited to see Gholia and Abby
As an og fan , like MH was a cornerstone of my childhood, the negative reaction is a bit dramatic for me😅 these dolls are absolutely adorable as a new generation and Era of this franchise. If you were expecting a copy of the 2010 ogs you were setting yourself up for disappointment from the jump. This isn't Garrett Sanders Monster High(as muc we love it) , it's something new.
Ok I think I started like Draculaura and Clawdeen but Frankie kind of if she looks good then yep definitely getting them!
I am an optimistic person but I must admit I’m disappointed, I really wanted gen 1 faces 😞. No hate to the designers or anyone who likes them, keep this a safe place💜

I never loved draculaura dolls most of the time for some reason but this one is soo cute I can't wait to see more of her and to actually get her

i absolutely love them all, but not for representing the actual characters. both frankie and clawdeen just don’t have the essence of their original characters. that does make me worry a little :/
edit: i think if frankie had a tie, no shaved side, greener skin, and clawdeens hair was darker it would a lot better imo :)
You know they’re not as bad, Frankie looks or or grey and that’s what’s throwing me off or idk, anyways they’re solid at least in my opinion, but I’d have to see them in person to see if I want one, anyways even though I miss the old monster high I can’t wait to see what the new one brings

I love these dolls as like a new chapter of monsterhigh. Like a completely different series- not compared to the og series. As seen separately they are really cool
My Opinion On The Dolls
Draclaura= I love her but I don’t like how they are making her a sorceress and giving her witchy vibes like the hat a change that didn’t need to happen but apart from that she’s my fav out of the dolls and I love her new hair I think the spilt looks better then her streaks
Clawdeen= I don’t know The doll looks nice but I don’t like her glasses Not the fact they gave her glasses I think that’s fine I am talking about the design of her glasses the color looks strange to me I think black glasses or make them more of a golden color because they look more yellow to me I do like how they added a wolf nose though
Frankie= I don’t know why exactly but I don’t like this doll I think It’s the face looks off to me
I actually Love Frankie's face & hair. I usually Love Draculaura, but for some reason I wish her head was a little wider.
