Start watching your videos because I am traveling to Rome next year in June with my wife and two kids . I made reservations at Hilton Rome Eur La Lama . You think it’s good location to go back and forth to central Rome . Accommodations in the area you recommended are very expansive.
Part of the problem is they are forecasting big crowds for the Jubilee in 2025 and many hotels have increased their rates. I just finished a new video yesterday and will be published this weekend but here is a link so you can watch early.ua-cam.com/video/2mVUZ3QJc80/v-deo.html Airbnbs offer I think a better option in Rome and less expensive than hotels in most cases. In the video I mention 5 but there are many other great options under €150 a night & closer to city center. I think staying in EUR can be a good option as long as you are close to Metro but much better to get closer to center if you can
@@arifchau Another great option for a family is to stay in Tivoli, great town just outside of Rome, very nice, clean, safe with lots to do and train to Rome takes just 45 minutes. Much less expensive and I think better option that EUR and more fun
@@RozierRoma Yes I'll consider it. I really don't like to stay in Airbnb's, and I have lots of Hilton points to use. All the Hilton in the city center require too many points but Hilton at Eur is reasonable and I can use my points for 5 days stay. It doesn't seem that far from central Area
We stayed at Hotel Trevi a few weeks ago. The Trevi Fountain was deserted at 7 am!! They had started on the renovations but did not have the walkway to get close to the fountain!! The crowds were ridiculous by late morning and afternoon!! There were some pretty good restaurants close by on Via Pasticini!!! There is a cool museum right around the corner of our hotel. It shows the ancient waterworks that feed the Trevi Fountain!!! Location was great!! Please bring good walking shoes!! We walked 10 miles a day while we were here!!
@@RozierRoma I’ve been to Rome 2x and haven’t been able to get tickets. I tried booking over a month ahead this year and we couldn’t gain entry. I guess I’ll have to try again
Trevi is surrounded with a walkway barrier now. I think ticket will be needed soon. Good tips. Thankfully i never felt uncomfortable in Rome. Just stay awake of surroundings. An awesome city. Thank you for the book and tips. With so much to do, it’s great to have an agenda.😊
You are right they are getting ready to require tickets to get up close to Trevi Fountain looks like in early 2025. You will need to purchase online tickets in advance but I am sure they will have a QR code that you can scan while there so kinda link a ticket office on site
@@RozierRoma I particularly enjoyed the one about small towns to visit or stay in, just outside of Rome. When I am lucky enough to visit Italy again, I will definitely be checking them out, especially Tivoli.
If there is two of you, you will only be saving about €15 by taking the Leonardo express but you will be saving at least one hour of time and a lot of inconvenience. If you’re traveling by yourself, it may make sense to take the train
I took your video advice and situated a great hotel in the campo de fiori region on my first visit and just left this morning. Aside from being close to everything, you're never more than a few steps from great food options. My two pieces of advice for this area: single pack travel and if you can't handle walking be prepared to shell out 15-20 euros all the time.
An info for tourists..those pickpocketers are usually south Americans or Romani (Roms from East Europe)..so they are quite recognizable even if they chose the least ethnic looking to "work ".
Yes but you may have to wait a few extra minutes. Around town you can use the app FREENow and request the size of taxi you need. For the flat fare always confirm rate with driver before getting in.
Taxi from airport suppose is 55 Euro but just happened that the taxi driver want me to pay 60 Euro when arrived the hotel. I paid but next time will take uber
Were you in a real taxi? unmarked rides can charge you more as they are not regulated. Also taxi have option to charge €1 for each bag. The only Uber service they have in Rome is Uber Black and I am sure it would cost more. Give it a try and let me know.

Free with points is hard to pass up. If you end up staying in EUR I still recommend you spend a coupe of night in Tivoli. The family will love it

good shoes are important for sure. Expect 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day.
You also need the Borghese gallery ahead of time.
good to know. When I was there awhile ago the line was short

If you can and haven’t yet, book a good tour with The Tour Guy. They stay right around Campo and it’s worth every penny and really fun
€15 to 20 is that for the taxis? Good thing about being close to so many things you can usually just walk.
@RozierRoma I'm traveling with my elderly parents so even some of the nearby attractions consecutively are too much for my father to handle.
Which hotel you stayed if I may ask? We are planning to visit Rome next Monday. Really appreciate your assistance. Thanks again
Boutique hotel campo Di Fiori is great!
Always great advice and I recommend the guide book. Tons of information. We are headed back during the off season next year. Best Regards
I appreciate the comment & the recommendation!

Are there taxis available at FCO and readily available for a family of six (so minimum 7-seater)?
