I don't have sensei to teach me Iaido so I watch UA-cam... I already mastered sheeting and unsheeting but I still can't move my body properly... Don't worry about my safety because I only use Boken that have Saya. It's looks like real katana but made out of wood... If it's wooden, it's Boken😂👍
When I first time seeing samurai I instantly feel in love with the katana instead of the user(Samurai) Then I search deeper and came across Iaido and Kendo. Before I ever owned Boken I use random wood like broom and imagining that I have Saya with me.. After 6 months of practice with a broom I purchased a Boken or wooden like katana, I can perform sheeting with no problem even though it's my first time... Now I'm stuck with Iaido and almost forgot about Kendo. It made me thinking that Iaido aren't similar to Kendo. 😂 Should I master both?? 😋 Nahh Iaido is enough👍 Bty thank you for reading... (my long typing is easy to tell that I love sword art)
I hate drawing from the side because it's too slow i long ago abandoned traditional techniques and it would be a mistake to face me with them because they will not be able to beat me with such linear attacks and thinking
Actually I am a combat veteran and know what traditional techniques work and which ones don't.can you say the same have you used traditional techniques in actual life or death situations.
@@willynillylive You're not the only veteran, their techniques were perfect for the time they were invented in, it is not a reason to insult them, and the person who is showing them. Show some appreciation for the past. Blades are not any good for life and death situations nowadays unless you know what you're doing, but mostly the old techniques are now outdated and are a show of the past and beauty.
I appreciate traditional techniques no disrespect intended but having experience fighting when it matters most I tell people not to have the mindset that someone who's trying to kill you or injury you will respect traditional ways of thinking I had a black belt for almost 3 decades on top of being an army veteran

Sir, I do not mean to alarm you, but there is a bird on your shoulder.

刃が上なのですね!?
戦国時代、太刀は腰帯にぶら下げておりました。江戸時代の頃から、刀の方は、
刃が上の状態で腰帯に帯刀する様になったとの事です。

Then I'm afraid you know nothing of traditional techniques, sorry to say.
