So she did everything she could to meet the criteria to be revived. And she made sure to archive her life story so that she could remember in time. Truly the queen of cunning.
@@oryxthetakenking5682 Actually no. She, along with her race was chosen to be uplifted, the same as Eliksni and Humans. They were never chosen to be guardians in the first place, because there's no evidence of The Traveler chosen anyone to be guardians before it came to the Sol system. And that's why she had to played as Osiris in order to understand how The Traveler choose its guardians, because not even every humans can become guardians. She didn't even know if her trick would play out in the end, hence the monologue at 9:48, there was always the possibility she wouldn't be revived. But that's exactly why this trick has a possibility to work in the first place, because that's the criteria for being a guardian: devote, protect, fight and sacrifice. She devoted her lifetime to chase after The Traveler then eventually tricked The Darkness and saved it. She fought for the survival of not only her own (of course it's her priority)but also of her race and tried to wrestle back the control of their destiny from The Witness. In the end, she chose death in order to achieve her goal, a choice few can make. And that's how she was chosen. If we take away the differences in race and philosophy, she's exactly the same as other guardians. And she made sure that she archived her life story, which spanned thousands of years by now, because she learned she would lose her memories when she's made guardian, in order to not forget what her goal was.

Is it the Gardner vs the Architect? If so, which one do we side with? Do we side with ourselves and defeat both? Apparently the Darkness wants to destroy all life.
@@cainabel6356 gardener is associated with light and winnower is associated with dark. Not sure what the architect is tbh. The game states dark and light are neither good nor evil (which is true), but in my eyes the light lines up a lot closer with how humanity sees life. I’m not sure if this is accurate, but from my understanding, the darkness basically sees life as an opportunity for pain and suffering to happen, which it doesn’t like. Therefore if it eradicates all life, no one has to suffer. The light on the other hand empowers those deserving of it, and allows the opportunity for certain species to flourish. However that doesn’t mean those species will do good with the light, which can result in suffering for others (i.e. us killing savathun when she earned the light. It wasn’t our place to take that away from her, even if we tried to justify it as protecting humanity). Guardians still align with the gardeners philosophy (the light) even though we are using darkness powers.

I find it interesting that savathun was warming us at this point because of the witness. I think what’s gonna happen is that the traveler is gonna leave us. And we’re gonna loose our light again and we only have to use darkness subclass like how they released a new darkness class in light fall. In witch queen. It feels light avengers infinity war. Now it feels like avengers endgame now
The Traveller doesn’t resurrect people, Ghosts do. The Traveller left Riis to save the Eliksni. We’ve known for a while that the Traveller isn’t infallible. Why is everyone so bloody stupid?
this is how destiny 2's story should've gone down. Introduce the big baddie the game has been setting up for a while, then set up an even greater threat and build a story over 2-3 years. the first 3 years of destiny's story were individual stories and had no ongoing narrative. THIS is a story and THIS DLC has the best campaign in Destiny period, not even close.

The Witness is after all confirmed not to be Darkness itself like, it simply wears it like a cloak, and Clovis has used Vex tech and Darkness. His ambition to be the last point of human evolution could have expanded to the "final shape" of the universe. Also just an extra little minut thing but the smoke like heads could kind of be representative of multiple timelines or something and the Witness is rather fluidic like the Vex
@@BLADESTER128 you know banshee 44 is Clovis bray right?
People when Crow was revived: NOOOOO!
11:58 Savathun getting revived: You gotta kidding me!
IKR... hyporcrite... you know the very power you are using boast forgiveness and redemption as a virtue right, ya idiot ball of right.
And now you take Savvy of the board, great, we are playing right into the Darkness hand.
Now we need evil Cayde-7 and Oryx the giving king 😂
I think the traveler is playing the long game here, trying to redeem and rally former enemies against the coming tide of dark. Uldren is a model guardian now in spite of everything, Savathûns desire to stop the darkness is 100% genuine at the least, and I firmly believe that the traveler has the old dominus Ghaul in its back pocket in the off chance it needs a kaiju sized light bearer as a last resort.
Am I the only one that thinks the Last city should definitely do an upgrade on their alarms and sensors. Like she was right fucking there and they didn't get any "hive signature" nearing the city to send out a squad of guardians to intervene
@@jaredf.6532
She was alone, without worm and dying. I don’t think there was much a signature left TO track at that point
So you telling me we killed off our best allied, destroyed the only way to save the traveler from the Piramids, thinking we did the right thing and no npc ngame not even ikora realizes about it? Yikes sucks to be us
Yeah... we kinda suck. If someone like us is playing our script, Osiris will be caught a long time ago.
We still have the 9 and the haul given to the Drifter, which is like a pocket universe or the distributary which is also like a pocket universe.
her ghost is still alive so she can come back
if they really wanted to shut the door on Savvy they'd have killer her Ghost...that and hiring a high profile name like debra wilson to do her voice, she almost certainly is coming back, if not this season then the next. my prediction is we'll beat the disciple in the next raid, the witness shows up and gets ready to clap cheeks, and then she'll swoop in and save us.
so we should just surrender?, remember that the plan savathun had was trapping the traveler inside her throneworld, it is implied in the game that if this was to happen, the last city would be defensless and the guardian would lose their light, so what do you want people to understand ?lol
The office scene gave me goosebumps… Zavala and everyone in the room realizing that the Traveler isn’t aligned with humanity, but only it’s own survival. If we didn’t stop Savathun, then the traveler would’ve gone with her in her throne world.
Amazing storytelling. Also the witness? Bruh😦
That’s not the Traveller’s primary motivation like at all, and if that’s the route they’re goi down then that spits on the past seven to eight years of lore.
@@DuelaDent52 the lore does indicate that the traveler is mainly concerned with its survival. Rasputin shot the traveler while it was trying to escape the darkness during the collapse. If that didn’t happen, then we would’ve been destroyed like the Eliskini home world.
@@DuelaDent52 In The Strangers time line the Traveler leaves, and considering it ran from every civilization that it stop at in the lore of Destiny 1 Books of Sorrow, this current story makes sense.
@@tonyallen3138 byf disproved that looooooong ago, why do people still say this? The traveler stayed and fought. That's why it has a corrupted piece of its exterior in the EDZ. The traveler was scarred by the battle
@@lordepichax3755 But did he have a choice in this? Can he really leave without outside help? Maybe this is why he raised Savathun, to escape?
14:11 kinda reminds me of the time when Cayde-6 used to ask our Guardian if Zavala needed him.
As someone who has been away from this game since the Oryx dlc I'm glad to see that all the destiny 1 concept art and theories we came up with turning out to be right.
So the Hive with Light are the moth people concept art? So we potentially could have the Moth Guardians?
YOOOOO I HOPE SO
SKY: children of the light crossover confirmed
So they arent wyrms but catapilers
Sev6n has said this but I am glad that the leaks came out during destiny 1 because now we get to see what a truly amazing work of art story telling can be in a game.
rasputin need to wake up he been napping too long.
So Eramis is trapped in Stasis Ice, Savathûn’s Ghost is still around… so are the major villains of the past 2 years coming back for Lightfall or Final Shape?
Maybe they’re the one to reveal the truth about the Traveller and the Pyramids. Both of them have witnessed both those entities in action.
@@mid-dinero7869 true but both of them have as much experience with those beings as we do
@@snax7760 no savathun worked for the Witness during the collapse so she might know a thing or two.
Would you even consider eramis a major villain
@@car9182 I consider her the equivalent to skolas, cool and an interesting character but not a major player
I know that I spoiled the ending for myself, but I legit want to experience this with my own hands, especially with the journey to get to it.
Seriously it makes me wanna finish the campaign even more.
campaign is the best destiny has ever had if you like destiny this is peak
@@shatterzen4468 Trust me, I will see to it on Legendary.
I feel the same. I don't think spoiling this while I wait for my forehead to get back online is going to make it less impactful. I feel more hype now than before!
I really wish they have Cutscenes archive so we can play it over and over again.
So, with savathuns ghost seemingly MIA, we cant really call savathun dead, right?
Immaru can’t resurrect her without her body, so he’s stuck there. For now, Savathûn is by all intents and purpose dead.
@@DuelaDent52 Why is that? Guardians have been atomized and brought back, unless the Vandguard hides her body, or don't destroy it, she should be able to come back.
@@majesticmajestic7058 I'm pretty sure ghosts can still revive you if your body becomes disintegrated. Why you think we get revived even when we blown up and disintegrated by some super or class ability
@@DuelaDent52 yeah, but her bodys still there. Of course the vanguard have it but i doubt theyll destroy her body. This isnt the last we will see of savathun with the light, or her ghost. Just like eramis too, i think they have plans for her down the line
@@majesticmajestic7058 It sounds like the vanguard is heavily guarding savathun's corpse. Immaru wouldn't really have a chance to get close
So we went from being a side piece of the traveler and back again. Cool. Traveler seems awesome now.
i refuse to believe that this is the same team who wrote lightfall story
May have not been. Some of the dlcs have different writers
I don't know why but it's not playing the cutscenes it just takes me back to orbit
Wow so amazing what a great movie
Thanks!
I really like the look of the Player at the last cutscene. I always did feel dark magenta went well with slate grey and black.
Now we wait one year for light fall
1000000% READY!
My theory is, in lightfall we fail to kill the witness and everything failed and some guardians and main guardians die but our ghost has a idea we go back to savathûn’s throne world and look for her ghost
The 9 and Drifters haul too.
Doubtful. The Darkness already brought a cataclysm to humanity once. That would just be too much. Savathun will just be revived by her ghost to help us when we need her. Then we will probably either be allied with the Hive or they will have their own agenda to defeat the darkness.
Eris symbol was a hive ghost the whole time, wow haha.
I feel bad for her little ghost, dude started out immediately after she got rezzed looking like a normal ghost and at the end was completely unrecognizable
Also the Witness's design is so fucking cool
Sav’s ghost is sadistic. His lore shows he isn’t anything like other ghosts and only serves himself and the traveler
Rewatch her resurrection. Her ghost looked that way from the beginning.
Immaru hates humanity, he’s a bad influence on post rez Savy
oh gotcha@@Notyourstodisclose

@@ofkfdjdjfk7574 By the Architect.
Best campaign in destiny. Its not even close.
Say what you want about destiny this game was the best yet for story and the game of the year so far
So we're kinda in the end game now.
The triangles seem to be getting close though

What armor and shaders at the first cutscene are you wearing? care to share?
Vault of Glass helmet, Guardian games 2021 chest piece, amethyst veil shader, can't quite remember the boots and gauntlets atm
Would be great to have a feature length movie (animated)
The loadout you used to kill Savathûn was the exact same one I used for the Campaign.
So we all know she’s coming back right? Just like Eramis
And shit Oryx might as well
"Hive propaganda" honestly one of the best parts of the entire campaign
during the meeting cutscene, why weren't the exo stranger and the drifter there? just why?
Because they aren't really associated with the Vanguard
So is savathun dead? Or will she be able to come back for the black fleet?
as long as her ghost lives, she can revive, just that it needs the body to resurrect her.
The ghost is still alive. She'll be revived probably when the traveler sees need for it to happen.
@@Knightlight3449 where are you polaris??
@@Knightlight3449 That or she ends up becoming the next big villain after the Witness is done.

We should've realized the witness teased the pale heart in the last cutscene
So nice to hear Paladin Danse again
If savathun died in the cosmodrome she would have showed up in the tower with a risk runner lmao
Wasn't an avid fan of Destiny, but the ending of Witch Queen with the reveal of The Witness is one of the best moments I've seen in anything. Lightfall kinda disappointed me, but Season of the Witch looks promising :)
When in game LFG? -.-
I find it interesting that savathun was warming us at this point because of the witness. I think what’s gonna happen is that the traveler is gonna leave us. And we’re gonna loose our light again and we only have to use darkness subclass like how they released a new darkness class in light fall. In witch queen. It feels light avengers infinity war. Now it feels like avengers endgame now

What's Sylens doing in this game?
this is how destiny 2's story should've gone down. Introduce the big baddie the game has been setting up for a while, then set up an even greater threat and build a story over 2-3 years. the first 3 years of destiny's story were individual stories and had no ongoing narrative. THIS is a story and THIS DLC has the best campaign in Destiny period, not even close.
The best story
The next light "element" is ironically darkness coming with the update lightfall so what is the traveler where does the beggining of good start and where does it end where is it that darkness is unrecognisable from light is light just another form of darkness and is the traveler just a coward using fallen species as a shield for its ever growing small "life" I never trusted the traveler from the moment I heard it erases memories
So the witness has been hunting the traveler eh.
Man shits getting bad when cayde left us
She missed one,devotion inspires bravery
Already the game just started and people finished it???
When you realize she the first guardian
The Guardian sounds like Master Chief
I honestly think we have an mole, when the mysterious character appears, it sort of had the markings of called zavalas face, don't you think?
The end.... Nice look
I never finished this dlc even though I did buy it.

I just wish that in the end of this story, humans, cabal, eliksnis, hive and even the vex can all be allies

Bro… Jesus Christ that ending man WTF
Well, that's just yet another proof - traveler is just a machine that was build by someone.
damn I want to play the expansion so badly but I don't have my clan and Destiny friends anymore, plus Elden Ring is releases in 2 days fuuuuu
"you did the right thing"
We've been played...
Just don't say...I didn't warn you.
Aw she came on a Prometheus ship
So not only do we have confirmation the traveler isn’t actaully with us becuase it likes us but rather for its own survival it saw the guardians just the same as it once saw the hive and fallen so we’re just being used. Wow wasn’t really expecting a lot from this expansion aside from a few interesting hive lore notes and cutscenes but wow just wow
The Traveller likes everyone. It left Riis not for her own survival but for the Eliksni’s.
It likes life. The Darkness would see life wiped out. The Traveler went to the Hive to give them power to survive the darkness. The Hive would have become its guardians, but were deceived by the Darkness. Then they became a vassal for the darkness. The Traveler moved on to Fallen or Humanity after that. We still do not know the Fallen's story.
