So much action on the second channel??? What more could we possibly ask for? 🔥🔥🔥
So many nice spots in The Netherlands
Great drone footage. . Thanks Lars
Always fun to see you ripping on Dutch waters 😍😍
Great video, you should come to Westeinderplassen next time you are in the netherlands
One of the toughest spots I've been on. Maybe next year with smaller gear. Got rescued by Jordy on that Saturday. It was just mental
Thank you Nico for the great Clinic and the great footage. 🚀
Cool. Looking forward to the next video
Beautiful pictures from the drone !
Ahah what a flat spot perfect for speed. I see you swape your NP harness to a liberty could be great to have your feedback 🤗
I think I spotted you twice now with the new harness lines from point 7. I always struggle with the regular variable lines from most brands. They either don’t stay in place (plastic) or they corrode into fix position(metal) point 7 place their new ones specifically for foiling. But i wonder if there any good for high wind slalom as well.
I would appreciate a feedback
For the rest, go on with your good work. I love this chanel 😊
Hey, great content as always - be great to do a video on foil vs fin sails when used on a foil !
🔥
Loved it!
Thanks!
Odd question
Muddy water
Does it help with the sanded texture? Wet on wet surface
Thnx for a great oktoberfest!
Nice video please more with jordy !!
Nice!
Great performance, very inspiring.
Could you perhaps setup a tutorial once about foil- and sail sizes in diffrent wind strengths? I mean I have a SB superflyer only. I am wandering if I should differ in foil sizes too like I do with sails . Specially in higher winds.
Thanks Nico,
It will depend on your sensation and confidence. If you feel ok to take a smaller wing, try it. Remember, the more the wing is small, the more you need power in the sail. So don't decrease both at the same time. You should also consider triming the 330 stab, as it is a very powerful surface, espescially in the 102 fuselage. Maybe you could put a freerace kit like 800+255 in the superflyer set.
i am pushing my kid to go University in NED, would visit NED spots easy then :)
Was this on the 13th of October? If so I sailed the same storm (and rain) at Brouwersdam. It was insanely gusty and we had to take a break cause the rain hit so hard it started to hurt on your face 😅
I think it was that day 🤘
What specific foil sail would you recommend for 25knots plus besides racing sails? Just conventional wave sails? Altough having more of an freerace approach?
That’s a good question actually. Most high wind foiling sails are racing sails. A 5m foil racing sail could also well be used for freeracing.
Otherwise wave sails work, but is far from fast 😄
V8 Flight goes down to 5m2. That could be the best choice for you.
@@BoardLifeNico thanks for your reply. I m considering the v8 just doubt if they are really stable enough in strong winds. Mast sleeve of racing sails make them just a bit heavy once filled with water. Never fall in😅
S2 Maui Wicked 4.6 is really stable for foiling. Not the fastest, but safe.
Can you expand a bit on the spot being slower than other spots? You mean compared to salt water or also other lakes?
Yes, compared to any other spot. However, when the Baltic Sea has some seaweed it feels the same.
what a crash !!
Which size mast did you use on the foil, seemed to be low on the water?
Like I explained, the mud created a lot of drag and pushed the board down. Was hard to keep it up. Normal mast length 95cm.
That's interesting stuff.. I repeatedly wondered about low speeds on the fin at some spots, where I - to my feeling - should have gone faster and couldn't really find an explanation. Now I recognize: that was also on shallow lakes with muddy water. @@BoardLifeNico
10:36 what caused that crash?
Nice harnesslines, how long were they?
Probably 42 inches or a bit more for Nico. About 55cm from the boom... Try it, it's insane.
hello,
may we have the name of this dutch lake, please ? thx in advance.
Schildmeer 🤟
Another great video promoting the sport. Question from an old school windsurfer - why do you have your harness lines so long please? Back in the day, our lines were half as long as yours. Perhaps progress. Anyway, keep up the good work.
On foil or fin?
I’ve never sailed foil so can’t comment, but on fin, the lines appear long.
Long lines offers lot of control in strong wind foiling. But anyway, as an old windsurfer too, I will consider use them in windsurf. It's like you weight 10 or 15 more kilos. Very nice in gusty winds.
Very nice video! Will you be at the next dam x event? Haven‘t seen you this time😁
We’ll see 😄
Could someone answer my question? PLEASE
What sail size and foil board soze did you use?
5.1 sail and 81 wide board
@@BoardLifeNico i ve a 71 i99 for strong winds and sails from 4.5-6.0 which i really like. And besides that a jp hydrofoil 150 (91) for lighter winds and sails up to 9.0
Does someone know if this was the 85 board ?
88 foil board 🤟
@@BoardLifeNico impressive with a 5,1!!!
