One of the main reasons JSU lost this battle last year is due to their choice of song selections. You can't allow SU to blow on you with two relatively fast and HARD songs and you respond with songs that are slow, dragging, and old. "I Got 5 on It" and the song before it were poor choices in my opinion. Also, out of the 3 songs played by JSU in The 5th last year, was "The Way" the only new arrangement? I know "Imagination" was an old one but I'm unsure of the other one.

Typical SU fan, always thinking SU sounds clean... Yeah SU is loud, but not clean (not always)... They were only clean, to you, because they were playing the latest R&B radio songs of that year... Now that is what was clean...smh!

I don't know what's all this talk, I hear, about SU- Human Jukebox blowing out JSU- Sonic Boom...Both bands came out strong...Indeed, SU had great arrangements and didnt overblow them (for a change)...but, JSU showed them that you can yet have awesome power, with just 125 band members (most of them crabs/freshman) and make music; instead of noise.
jsu needs to retire i got 5 on it... they play it every year they need to be more than just loud they music arrangement sucks.... sounds like a loud ass HIGH SCHOOL band NO control what so ever....

These two bands go at each other like gangsters in warfare. Pure heat and wattage. I will try to see them at the next Boombox Classic in 2022
SU has more complexity in the arrangements. Better voicing, nice syncopations of rhythms, and balance of sound from section to section.
