I still get the chills watching this...this was by far the best match-up between both the band and football team! You had to be there! I was on a high the whole game!

I'll say the 2014 Boombox Classic
It’s 2023 and this still one of the best boomboxes I’ve seen.
It was a different type of Southern imo....Jackson is hitting new levels and I'm proud of the boom as a Mississippian. I had scholarships to both music programs and to other HBCUs.
I absolutely looove how southern baritones blend on right above it. sweet shit..
JSU took Southern to church with "Love the Way You Lie"! Baritones were 'sangin'! LOL!
Yes, and this was the first boom box I ever attended...Dwayne the 2nd song was "Right Above It"....them baritones was ringing through that stadium that day.

I went to Tuskegee, and these are in my opinion the 2 top HBCU bnds in the nation, I think that they would crush every other college band too. Nothing like a HBCU band to set things off right!!!

@patboy07 in my opinion 2010 was the greatest game in the JSU/SU rivalry. It had it all: a good zero quarter, and classic game, solid halftime shows from both bands, bands playing each other's songs(ex: su blowing fanfare, Jsu do what you wanna) a dramatic ending and of course another classic 5th. Ive marched in the boom from 07-10 and this was the most exciting game in my tenure.
Wish Jackson go back to those type of btones .. those silver ones are so ass

I remember one year I went to a txsu vs jsu game on a Thursday and I was standing next to txsu band and I asked them who had the best band and a tuba player said su...and I was like damn y'all must enjoy being su's little brother and it shows from some of these comments I've seen even though txsu is irrelevant now
I wouldn't say irrelevant, they sound good for they size, and they finally starting to get some numbers back. I think they'll get back their eventually

Murray and crew Ight with me. This was my sophomore year and we had a mf band that year. We drug SU. JSU directors now are waaay to boring and conservative and let me not forget horrible song selections in 2015. I miss Mr. Murray, he didn't play that shit. Mr Murray gone use what he has and he knew he had a damn band behind him and he used it. Our song selection that year was on point.
