I've had a 2015 m135i for just over year now. It continues to put a smile on my face. I really enjoy the dual personality of it, comfort mode provides an easy relaxing drive, great for long distances and sport + is there for the other times. I have made a number of modifications and will continue to. Perhaps getting the car more M2 like. A remap on the transmission with XHP software is a good mod and cold air intake if you like hearing the turbo, both increase throttle response a little as well. Extra bracing, new lower springs and wheel spacers have been a nice upgrade too.

Another great video guys. You really are after my own heart with what you enjoy. Not having the luxury (read mostly space) to own more than one car the Renault Megane RS Trophy, i30N Fastback, and M135i (although much more recent edition) were all very tempting shortlisters to replace my 2012 M5. Probably more along Stu’s preferences than Mark’s though I ended up with the GV60. Yes - a strange choice in some respects but best day to day.
I bought one of these of the same age two years ago and it's been superb. You were saying you weren't sure if the car was mapped or not, those dials with the kw number on it gets increased to usually 480 hp (360ishkw) when they get mapped so yours is probably oem. @@lukeskywalker1666 No it isn't. I've driven both. The B58 is more tuneable if you want to get big power (700hp+), the N55 will still easily tune up to 500hp on a stock block though. With a lot of love and some extra cash one can transform the boring stock interior to a M-Performance one... replacing the steering wheel, the armrest, the door handles, the center console, the gear stick, the handbreak, the dashboard trim panels and put those with Alcantara and carbon fiber and this will make a huge difference! There are also a lot that can be done to the exterior....one could add spoilers, lips, sideskirts.....and make it look even more mean and sporty In my opinion the F20 is a great choise
N55 "M performance" is super easy to tweak if you want. The ZF is totally brilliant. Only weakness of all scenarios is downshift out of slow corners. We just stick the shifter to the left to sport and stay comfort. Get the newer 3 spoke steering wheel. My favourite of nearly all steering wheels.

Mark talked about turbo lag in the video, but really - there was very little. And only at low revs. Over 4000 it was pretty immediate, like a NA motor. I do take Mark's point that the ZF box, good as it is, probably can't match the manual for involvement and immediacy. The motor is an absolute gem, doesn't tail off at the top end either.
Just put our X5 on Hankooks. Ditched the run flats. Really impressive for the money. Those wheels are size up to standard. all our beemer have had eco/comfort/sport/ adaptive suspension tho. A must in UK roads
Hi Barry, From the driver's seat you won't be disappointed. Absolute rocket. But the back seats are not very big nor very comfortable for big kids. Depends on how old your kids are. Try them out first. Just find any F20 1-series and check out the rear seat room. Another consideration - there's no space saver spare. I find the boot space to be pretty good for lots of camera gear but as far as luggage for 4 people on holidays - yeah maybe not.
In a country where the weather is mostly dry and warm this car makes great sense, us in UK although we loved this car and the later m140i with our cold wet weather this car was limited compared to four wheel drive 300hp rivals

have fun with it Stu! re: Tesla vs BMW. Company management does matter. For example, Tesla recently dropped the resale value of all previous customer cars by a very significant amount in a single day. That would have never happened with BMW. You were so worried about the money you could lose on that 996 Turbo ABS repair, well compare that to the Tesla price drop which you have no control over. Imagine if you would have purchased that Tesla last month before the price drop. Well, the resale value affected ALL past Tesla customers and Tesla's sitting on used car lots. All upside down now. If you really insist on a Tesla, at least consider leasing it.
