I like using silicone fusing tape to wrap cockpit cables together. Non Adhesive and sets up a pretty permanent bond, cheap, so I don't mind cutting it if I have to do cable replacements, comes in diff colors too.
All great tips! Again you replied to all the comments, what a great guy! My bonus tip: Faster I go the more wind in my ears can’t hear a thing! IZZO & JEFFSY FTW!
Good recommendation for sure! I suppose lube on the side of the chain could vary based on your environment 🤙🏻 Here is Southern Utah rust isn’t much of a worry where as fine dust/dirt is 🤘🏼
I use Lubriplate chain and cable fluid on the chain and let it soak over night. Wipe down next day. This is a penetrating oil so the rollers are lubricated inside!
The rattling of internally routed hydraulic brake hoses and shift cables within the frame (Me: Nukeproof Reactor, full carbon frame, Factory) is a little more challenging to silence, but so worth it and satisfying when its done! Foam tubing, or similar, over the internal lines definitely works. But if you haven't tried Nerf darts with the tips cut off, or thought about cutting long strips out of a pool noodle, have you really tried everything??😂👍‼
just a quick one what cassette and derailleur is that that your using and i know the saint is expensive and way out my budget do you have any high quality silent durable derailleurs you recommend at a lower price
I ride my bike right after lubing so it will be shifted either way. I leave the bike in last gear out of habit since a mechanic once told me that my derailleur broke possibly from being left on a bigger cog a lot of something. Frankly neither of know what happened there but if it might've been the problem I'll just avoid it. But that means the moment I ride I will be shifting it 3 gears up. My main bike's noise issue was from the linkage bearings. The other one just has a rattly wheel, axle is tight, it really just has weird issues.
@@Rose_Butterfly98 Personally I have never heard of that and I don't actually think about what gear my bike is in when I put it away. Leaving your bike in the easiest gear will have the derailleur more stretched out which could maybe cause wear over time, but I am not too certain. Hope this helps!
Regarding adjusting brake caliper position, the system they’ve designed is super annoying. All the little washers and spacers just make it difficult to keep the caliper position steady while tightening. Engineers have failed us on that one
Sorry to hear about your struggles! If you have the washers arranged correctly you should have no problem 👍🏼 Might be worth looking into picking up a new brake adapter and seeing if it solves your problem 💯 Hope this helps!
@@roesslermaxi Yep, the size medium tues has a reach of 429mm which is very short and would be considered a small by most brands. If you want something super small and easy to move around, you could go that route. But as an all around DH bike I would suggest considering the large 💯

I bet 90% of the time when I hear a noise it sounds like its coming from anywhere and everywhere but it’s really just the chain 😂
Always the best place to check first no doubt! Thanks for watching!
"I don't like working on my brakes"
Continues to pull out one of the most badass tool kits I've seen in my life 😊
Gotta have the nice tool kit to take the edge off of working on something I don't prefer to 😂

Haha that is a good tip for sure! Thanks for watching!
Great video, definitely going to implement a couple of these tips whilst working on my bike! Thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Maintenance is definitely key! Appreciate the tip on just lubing the rollers
Thanks for watching!
Sick vid! Definitely going to implement these 💪🏼
Can’t wait to see you rippin on the tools 🙌🏻
Nothing beats a silent bike. I run an onyx vesper rear hub, silent instant engagement seriously does the trick. Droool!!!
That's one way to get total silence for sure! Thanks for watching!
Dumonde Tech Pro X will silence any hub for $20.
Dumonde makes some amazing products for sure 👍🏼
Dang dude thats a dream garage. Nice video. I do the same thing with shifting with the chain lube .
Super thankful for the garage for sure! Glad you enjoyed the video and nice to hear you do the same with the shifting 👊🏼
Such a sick rig PJ!
Glad you like the bike and thanks so much for watching!
Perfect explanation
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
I would recommend wax lube, which will protect your entire chain. No lube on the side of the chain is asking for a rust problem
Good recommendation for sure! I suppose lube on the side of the chain could vary based on your environment 🤙🏻 Here is Southern Utah rust isn’t much of a worry where as fine dust/dirt is 🤘🏼
very beautiful bicycle aqa colour. great video. 5 th advice thx

Going to have to check that out! Thanks!
think ive found a new dream bike!
🤘🏼
awesome, you should do a your whole bike fleet video!
my rear shock sounds like a aluminum can right now 😂
Dang sorry about your shock! A full bike fleet video will happen in the future no doubt 🤙🏻 Thanks for watching!
I constantly forget to grab one of my adjustable wrenches to straighten my rotors. Hopefully I remember to do it thanks to this 😂
Adjustable wrench does the trick for sure! Thanks for watching!
Or you could buy an expensive special tool for too much money and forget to use THAT instead of your adjustable wrench

Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your tips my friend, I won’t that yt rig. Cheers buddy jean and Ross 🇬🇧👍🤞🤘🤘
Hey Jean and Ross, thanks for watching! 💯
I love to use sewing machine oil to lube the chain it costs close to nothing and its really good
🤙🏼

😂😂 foam tubing works well for that!
can you make a video about your gorpo settings pls
Sure thing! I was planning on making a video on GoPro setup soon, so you should see it in the next few weeks 💯
@@PeterJamison ty bro bc i saw your pov and it just lookt sooooooooo good
Glad you enjoy the look! The POV setup video just went live if you are curious 🤘🏼
thank you for telling me!
What bike is the blue bike? AND Thank you for the advice for a silent bike loved the video
Glad you enjoyed the video! The blue bike is a YT Tues 👍🏼
Thank you@@PeterJamison
I had an annoying rattle and couldn't find where it was coming from. It turns out the cassette was slightly loose
Oh yeah, that’s a good one. Glad you got it sorted!
just a quick one what cassette and derailleur is that that your using and i know the saint is expensive and way out my budget do you have any high quality silent durable derailleurs you recommend at a lower price
This is a Saint drivetrain on this bike, however, for a silent/durable/affordable setup I would look into the Shimano XT Linkglide 👊🏼
I ride my bike right after lubing so it will be shifted either way.

@@PeterJamison but does that actually hold true? Do you also leave your bikes in last gear after riding?

@@PeterJamison Thanks for the information.
I'm starting to doubt that was the issue seeing as it broke in under a year
@Rose_Butterfly98 yep a year would be quick for that to break in that fashion, good luck finding the source of the issue 🙏🏼
How to make the hub more quiet?
Best way to do that is to use a heavy weight grease 👍🏼 But you need to be careful not to go too heavy and cause your hub to stop engaging 🤘🏼

Hay quick question what camera do you use most?
I use my Canon R5 and GoPro the most 👍🏼
sick bike Do you thnk the yt tues is better o m (5 11) in L with a single crown or in m
Glad you like the bike! Regarding sizing, I would definitely recommend a large if you are looking at the 27.5 model 🤘🏼
also as a freeride with a enduro forks@@PeterJamison

Squeezy seat. Drives me NUTS
That’ll happen! What do you do to fix it?

@@PeterJamisonI try to keep it clean but it doesn’t work for long. If there’s a technique/secret you’re aware of I’d love to know about it!
I’m not sure if it works, but some leather moisturizer would be my best guess 👍🏼

You’re welcome.
It will be interesting to see how that technology develops no doubt ✌

How to make yout bike silent: don't ride it.
Follow me for more tips.
😂
Number one way to keep your bike silent buy cheap shity hubs they don't make a sound they're the complete opposite of the hope hubs
A bit of extra grease in an expensive hub can make them quiet also ✌
