Last year was a total rollercoaster! I am so happy I’ve got this platform where I can communicate with you guys. I’ve been doing Kitchen Sessions for a while now, and in a way I’m thankful I’ve had the time to do more of them In 2020. I’ve been focusing a lot on writing new music for an upcoming album this past year, and I´ll keep focusing on writing. My Aunt was in the hospital with COVID for 9 days & for those 9 days the only thing she ever asked for was to have Chris Kläfford on repeat so that she could stay calm & so that she wouldn’t feel lonely. She passed away last Friday with our entire family gathered outside of her hospital window.. So now, in order to calm myself down & to feel a little less lonely, I listen to Chris ♥️
I never ever thought i’d hear someone even come close to Chris Stapleton singing this majestic song but wow, i think even Chris himself would be blown away by this utterly amazing performance !!!!!!,,,, please Lord let there be a time when they sing it together on stage !!! ❤️👌

Cant decide between this one and Judah kelly's audition version . Judah didnt have this guys vocal rasp, but his flexible vocals ( i mean that "you're as warm" section) was a lot more sharp and pronounced

I was trying to tie in JT and Stapleton’s performance of this song during the CMA’s a few years back. Which, if you haven’t heard it you should check it out. I absolutely think Chris Kläfford is unique and has a style all his own. But you cannot deny his likeness to Chris Stapleton. They look almost identical. And I think he is at least slightly trying to build fame with that likeness which is a smart thing to do. Great voice, and very talented musician. I think he deserves a shot at the big leagues.

Imagine my surprise hearing that same line in a song 30 years later covered by Chris Stapleton that jogged my memory back to this simple time. It’s an old George Jones song, my mom’s song.
