Next one to do, their band name, Bad Company
Entire album is good. After song Bad Company, same album Moving On which is a fast moving upbeat song would be a good choice.
They have so many good songs, but that seems like the next logical choice
It's also the title of the album, in addition to it being the band's name and the song's title
Rock n Roll Fantasy
Yes. Good idea.
Rock and roll fantasy is another must.
That's my favorite Bad Company song! That and Seagull
One of their best...too many wimpy requesters never do the best stuff...especially with Neil Young Down By The River...way better than Wimpy Harvest Moon or Old Man
Bad Company by Bad Company needs to be your next song by them. This is my favorite by them.
And then for another side of them, I recommend "Crazy Circles" from the Desolation Angels album.
Nope
Aw, memories of my youth. If I could only go to 1975 and listen to this album for the first time as a teenager again.
These kids will never have that anticipation of a new album coming out. The smell, the listening to the whole album.
Every time I hear this song, I think of The 27 Club. R.I.P. . . .
I always equate it to Jimi. 😢
@@tonyhomant244Same here especially when Jimi Hendrix real name was Johnny Allen Hendrix and that's how Hendrix died.
Fun fact Bad Company was the first band Led Zeppelin signed to their record label "Swan Song records"
Led Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant came with drummer John Bonham to meet them after the signing & Bonham told them that he expected good behavior from them, which amused Bad Company no end ... being told to behave by the biggest hooligans in England.
Song has an appropriate title. A shooting star burns bright for a short time and than is no more. Paul Rodgers, who wrote it, the song is a warning. He wrote it about the casualties of the music business.
An eerie parallel to the character in this song is Paul Kossoff, who was Paul Rodgers' bandmate in the group Free. Kossiff had drug addictions that contributed to a drastic decline in his health. Kossoff died on a flight from Los Angeles to New York City on 19 March 1976 from a pulmonary embolism after a blood clot in his leg moved to his lung, a year after this was released. The guitarist was just 25 years old when he died.
As far as I was aware Paul Kossoff died from an embolism due to years of drug abuse. Contrary to rumour, Kossoff hadn’t overdosed. The cause of death was given as ‘cerebral and pulmonary oedema’; a legacy of the previous year’s cardiac arrest. Either way a sad and tragic loss of a spectacular talent.
@@classiccars1994Thanks for the correction. I researched and found he died of an embolism on a flight. Corrected my comment.
Free is a band worth checking out. They hit it big in the States with All Right Now, but they had many great songs. My favorite is Mr. Big, a song that I think Phil would like immensely.
Yeah we figured that out duh
🎵All Right Now 🎵Free
💥💥💥👍😎
And Bad Co
My takeaway is; the song serves as a reminder that we all are shooting stars. You have to live and enjoy your life while you can because one day you will burn out too, so make your life as bright as you possibly can before you do.
The key lyrics is : All the world will love just as long, as you are, a shooting Star". In other words when the fame dies down can the artist handle that transition.
@@jgsrhythm100 Of course I'm not saying the artist and music aspect of the song isn't there or that it isn't the basis of the song. Only saying it can apply in a broader sense to all of us who aren't big stars. I tend to be an abstract thinker.
@@garyseabolt of course. It's probably a bit of both.
Bad Company are one of the great English rock supergroups who've been around since the 70's. They have so many great songs such as "Bad Company", "Can't Get Enough", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", "Ready For Love", "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy" etc.
PAUL RODGERS IS A LEGEND !! , perfect soulful rock n roll voice !!
Movin' On, Good Lovin' Gone Bad, Gone, Gone, Gone and so many more....Deep rabbit hole here
When 8 tracks were the thing this album played all night in my youth. I was 14 or so in 1984.
I was 16 when this song came out, we all pretty much thought it was about Janice, Jimi and Jim... great video!
Absolutely amazing song about the dangers of being a star.
Bad Company is so damn good!
For those of us who were coming of age in the seventies we were flooded with great music and were spoiled. As soon as we thought we had our favorites a new band would come along. I don't think those times will ever be repeated. But you are experiencing the same phenomenon through exploration. Have fun.
They have so many hits such as Silver,Blue, and Gold Bad Co. Good Lovin Gone Bad,Rock N Roll Fantasy Running with the Pack, Can't get Enough,Movin On,
All of these definitely!
I was a teenager in the late 70’s. Still the best music ever!
Paul Rodgers killed it on vocals
Paul Rodgers, Bob Seger, Greg Allman, ...some of the smoothest rock storytellers 🎶🔊
Love these guys, one of the early Supergroups. Seasoned musicians one & all: two from 'Free', singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke; former 'Mott the Hoople' guitarist Mick Ralphs; and ex-'King Crimson' bassist Boz Burrell. (thank you Wikipedia)
I'd suggest 'Bad Company' from the 1974 debut album next.
Cheers
Comedian Bill Russell was on a show that featured Bad Company.
He said," I like that guy's pants! You just stand different, when youre wearing a cool pair of pants!"
When they were ending the show, the host said to Bill, "Paul Rodgers is giving you his pants!"
Paul came over ,in a different pair of trews, and gave Bill the silver ones hed been wearing.
The closing shot was of Bill Russell doing rock star poses in the rather high water silver rock star pants ( he's really tall).😅
Love this band to bits, I can still remember seeing them live in Birmingham UK at the ODEON, in 1974 when i was 17, saw them again loads of times Paul Rodgers is a LEGEND !!! ... Bad Company were an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1973, the group originally featured vocalist and rhythm guitarist Paul Rodgers, lead guitarist Mick Ralphs, bassist Boz Burrell and drummer / percussionist Simon Kirke.
Great live band too. Last time I saw them, they played with Skynyrd. When BC took the stage, the whole crowd was standing. The crowd knew every word to most songs. Great time. Paul Rodgers is a great singer. I hope he can still bring it after his health issues. Go see BC if you ever get the chance.
Love this one...love all of them actually!
Bad Company one fatal flaw is their refusal to end songs. Some say Paul Rodgers is still out there singing “dontcha dontcha don’t you know ow whoa whoa whoa”
I was never a fan of how some songs just fade out
One of my all-time favorite songs. A cautionary tale of living the life of drugs, sex, and rock & roll. A lot of fame and money and a lifestyle suddenly thrust upon you is not a good combination. It happened to so many such as Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, and others. And what can you say about Paul Rogers, it's Paul Rogers.
Bad Company was one of my favorite bands to catch live as a teenager back in the late 70's!!! I remember the last time I saw them at Lakeland Civic Center. They had a drum solo during the encore set. Started jamming on the drums, then dry ice smoke was billowing from the drum kit and ebbing off the stage as it intensified. Then each drum stick had a laser shooting out of it! one green and one orange!!! Eventually the smoke was so thick you could only see the drummer by sight of sound as the two lasers where piercing through the fog with the sonic timpani!!! Watching the green and orange strobe lights shooting all over the place! I was blown away it was one of my favorite drum solos.
Super cool!!
Paul Rodgers has one of those distinctive voices that is instantly recognized.
You gotta listen to the bass and drums in “Ready For Love”! The song “ Bad Company” is their anthem. Bad Company is really good Rock company! By the Way, Shooting Star is about Jimi Hendrix.
"Ready for Love" is great. Love the light stereo on Paul's voice during the chorus.
It was inspired in general by rockers who died too soon, including Jimi.
Nope DOCK STEADY was...but Top 40 trash Rock radio wimps never hear
Seagull is sublime.
Paul Rogers voice is just solid gold!!
PR was born to sing rock and roll 🎶 🔥
🎶Good Lovin' Gone Bad🎶
My favorite band ! Awesome song! Great reaction ❤️🙏
Yes Bad Company the song is a must.
Silver, Blue & Gold
Check out their concert at Wembley. It's here on You Tube and they are even greater!! Just Amazing! I am 70 and still listen to Paul"s amazing voice and it just got better as he got older
Love, love Bad Co.! This has always been one of my favorites of theirs.
Another good one is "Seagull."
'Jukebox Hero' by Foreigner is also a song about an aspiring rock star.
Growing up in the 70's,my boyfriend's brother's favorite group was Bad Company! That meant it was all that was ever played in his house. He played these albums EVERY day,and we all became fast fans! Bad Company can do no wrong, and Oaul Roger's voice is one of the best! Next up the actual song Bad Company, and Ready to Love...🎸🥁🎙🎶🎛😎
Love your reactions, on everything. A lot of people will recommend their self-titled song "Bad Company" which is great, but I love the song "Silver, Blue and Gold" It rarely gets reacted to, and it's probably my favorite by this wonderful band. Paul's voice really soars in that one too.
This has always been one of my favorite BAD COMPANY songs 🎵
I always felt he was being self-aware. He knew fame in the rock business was usually brief and intense then gone. That's why he told his mom not to worry. He knew he'd probably be back soon.
- Bad Company is definitely a "vibe".
- Musically, somewhat simple, but emotion/soul grabbing, w/ great rhythms, guitar solos, and vocals. Everything just "flows" so well.
- You will definitely enjoy their other stuff :) ...
Another great song by Bad Company is Silver,Blue, and Gold.
Sweet to see you folks holding hands while you were enjoying the groove on the back half of the song. That's the spirit of music that us old-timers appreciate.
Paul Rodgers has such a large back catalogue to choose from. He made a tribute album "Muddy Waters Blues" that had some of the best guitarists of the time playing on it. And don't dismiss his solo stuff, "I Lost It All" is amazing.
I commend you guys for playing both big hits and some deeper cuts from bands. Since this is a huge hit for Bad Company, I'm suggesting a song that has gone overlooked by a lot of reactors. I think you two would really like "Burning Sky". Excellent song.
🎉 1976…”Silver Blue and Gold”‼️
never had the pleasure of seeing bad co live. but in early '80s i did have the awesome chance to see the the 'A.R.M.s benefit concert' long beach arena ,in California. featuring paul Rodgers, sting, phil collins, jimmy page, Eric clapton and jeff beck ,all on stage performing together as one unbelievable super group! rock and roll is an amazing thing!!
Paul Rodger’s voice if like butter
It's cool that you mentioned the bass, Boz Burrell is one of my favorite bass players. He always played what best fit the song so well.
Bad Company is good company for me. Top 5 band on my playlist. So many great songs and such a shame they are not in the Rock Joke of Fame. They are great live, check out the song "Simple Man", Paul is excellent on vocals.
Please do the song Bad Company. Shooting Star is a favorite of mine and awesome to hear them live! I was lucky enough to be friends with a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd and they toured with them twice and I asked for tickets and got them and backstage passes. I never got to meet Paul Rogers which was disappointing. I love them.
Saw them live in Madison Square Gardens back in 1978, killer concert and this song was always my favorite
Absolutely metal mark. I was 13 years old when this song came out and it was solely responsible for keeping me from doing drugs and drinking to get drunk. This song is about Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Keith Moon, etc. Bad Co had a band member commit suicide. Love this song, the whole first album is excellent as well.
Badfinger is another excellent group. Catchy melodies. Tragedy struck when 2 of their members hung themselves
My mom's favorite band of all time, of course im a big fan too. For her bday this year i bought her a huge rock n roll fantasy blanket & a local band that was playing played Shooting star for her. Definitely need to listen to Rock n roll fantasy, runnin with the pack, bad company the song.
It's one of the best rhythm sections to ever lay down a beat and that includes Mick Ralph's lead playing.
Not a bad song in their catalog. Need to do their namesake song Bad Company “live “
The 70's,,,,💥💥💥👍😎
BAD COMPANY - " READY FOR LOVE " and " MOVIN ' ON ( From Town To Town ) are TWO MASSIVELY popular and Super Rocking Classics Songs that you'll definitely LIKE 🎸🎶
Bad Company originated from the band Free. They sang the hit “All Right Now”, which is a classic rock tune for the ages. Check that one out guys.
They belong in the R&R Hall of Fame
In one of their live versions of this song They showed pictures of members of the 27, as a tribute to them. the 27 are all music artists that passed away on or before their 27 birthday!
Fantastic pick! Great reaction. We love your style! We’re a bit older but still in your bell house! Bad Company is one of our favorite groups! 🔥😎👩🏻🦰
Definitely one of the coolest songs ever made. Top two or three
Great reaction!! Throwing another vote for Rock n Roll Fantasy
Bad Company, great group, great songs!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 Totally love how they play this one out to end it with the guitar 🎸 and the na na’s!
Thanks Sam and Phil, love your reactions!!❤❤
I love Bad Company but this one is my favorite. It’s tradition when I pull into Vegas, I play this song.
The key lyrics is : All the world will love just as long, as you are, a shooting Star". In other words when the fame dies down can the artist handle that transition.
Stop
@DENVEROUTDOORMAN Stop hey , what's that sound
"Seagull" another recommendation ❤
Yes!! 👊
I love that song.
Nope their worst song too wimpy
The solo is unreal.
"Burnin' Sky" is an oft-overlooked gem. Cheers from California 🇺🇲☺️🤘🏾.
My favorite band as a teenager back in the day
Simon Kirk was a big drum influence on me
Paul Rogers was & still is insanely good with his bluesy soulful sound
Mick Ralphs on lead guitar
Boz Burrell on bass.
I would have those High School debates with my buds on our favorite bands….. Led Zep - Queen - Ted Nugent ect ect. I was a Bad Co dude. Thanks for the memories.
A great rabbit hole for these hitmakers. Thank you
I love how Sam grooves to the music, right-on! 🤘🏽🥰
Speaking of Shooting Star, you should check out the band Shooting Star. The first 6 songs from their 1981 album Hang On For Your Life, all got radio airplay at the time. Check out any of these songs:
Flesh and Blood
Hollywood
Breakout
Teaser
Are You On My Side
Hang On For Your Life
You should listen to their song "Bad Company'" next, then there is a big rabbit hole that awaits.
I love this song! Other favs are "Bad Company", "Cant' Get Enough", "Movin' On", and "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy".
This song is a Rock metaphor. You have to do the self-titled song "Bad Company"
by Bad Company next. It's a banger.
Another fantastic rock song that tells a very similar story is by the band Foreigner and called "Juke Box Hero"
Gone , Gone , Gone is a personal favorite but Burning Sky , Rock and Roll Fantasy , Rock Steady are all a worthy reaction 👍
"I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then- whoosh, and I'm gone...and they'll never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me- ever."
Jim Morrison
Another Bad Company song that I love is, "Early in the Morning."
Live they show a montage of those we lost, including former bandmates Free guitarist Paul Kossoff and Bad Company bassist Boz Burrell as well as Hendrix and the usual list of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin etc. I think they also had John Bonham from Led Zeppelin as well the last time I saw them live. Some people say it's about Free guitarist Paul Kossoff but it actually came out before Paul passed away and I think it's generally about those we lost too soon due to addictions.
Paul Rodgers...Is who I think has the best male vocal for Rock Music. I'm not the biggest fan of Bad Company, Free, or The Firm. I'm a RUSH fan, but when it comes to a voice, Paul Rodgers just has something about it, that just moves me. Paul Carrack (Ace, Squeeze, and Mike & The Mechanics) is my favorite for more of the smoother side of Rock.
Paul said that the song wasn't about any one specific person, but just a collaboration of a lot of musicians who passed away too soon.
Bad Company --- One of the best R&R bands ever.
One of the best R&R band names ever.
One of the best R&R band lead singers ever.
Shooting Star -- One of the best R&R ballads ever.
Shooting Star -- One of the best R&R songs ever.
Give Silver, Blue & Gold by Bad Company a listen.
Another slower song by this great band, but it has a beautiful melody and really shows off Paul Rodgers' vocal ability.
Love Bad companies old stuff but they also have some great later somgs, like Little Angel , off that album that i cant think of right now there's so many more on that same album
- Watching reactions to this song is always bittersweet: such a great groove that's easy to flow w/ from the start... then the "twist"! Very poignant.
- The song celebrates "Johnny's" life (which is positive), while also giving the cautionary tale (which is also positive, i.e. in the warning, but maintains a positive tone).
OK, now you have to do the song Bad Company to fully appreciate how good Paul Rogers is. Love your reactions guys, keep it up!
This my favorite reaction of yours. The remarks about the vocals and the spacing of the phrasing in the music is really relevant and pertinent. I enjoy young folks grow n musical terminology. Thanks. Well done.
Always loved Bad Co. If you’re looking for more songs, maybe two of my favorites…Silver, Blue & Gold and Run With The Pack
As a Musician from the US who did some of this great groups songs from London
mick ralphs is a very underrated guitarist.should check out deep cuts from them.too bad, electric land, everything i need, leaving you, live for the music..
Very enjoyable reaction. You picked up right away on the stellar aspects of this excellent track.
Future songs to consider--Bad Company, Good Loving Gone Bad, Running with the Pack, Seagull, Silver Blue and Gold. Paul Rogers and Simon Kirke (the drummer) were in a band called Free, their big hit was Alright Now.
Yes yes
"Ready for Love", "Silver, Blue and Gold", "Seagull","Rock and Roll Fantasy", "Bad Company" and so many more!
