These girls are incredibly sharp, they're the first reactors I've seen to pick up on the "To save Mikasa & Armin" part so quickly

@@codemancz798True but i've also seen reactor in groups of 4 or 5 that is just way too dumb. It doesn't help that only half of that group that is actually interested in the show. Most reactors now are in it to make a quick buck hence they don't pay attention to the subtlety aot has been giving. Haylo and kiss tho you can tell they are genuinely interested in the show.
The Attack Titan is what the Japanese title “Shingeki no Kyojin” translates to, so it was a real 🤯 moment
That is one of the meanings.
My mind was blown when Eren said shingeki no kyojin 😂 because I always called the anime that, so I immediately recognised the words and I was like: 😱.
I think that's a plot twist that get mostly lost in translation
yeah Attack on Titan is one way of translating something that dosnt have a good exact translation. i mean "the Attack Titan show" sounds goofy haha

It's crazy.....we spent so many years theorizing and guessing for 3 seasons watching in real time.....and then he just blows it all open in 2 and a half episodes. 🤣🤣🤣
One of the more horrifying implications of the idea that "if one of the Nine dies without passing on their power, a random infant born to a subject of Ymir will inherit the power", is that if that ever happens, that child is only going to live to be 13 years old at most. They'll probably never be an effective fighter for most of their life at that span of maturity. Which means if you want to put the power of the Nine into the hands of someone who can actually USE it... SOMEONE HAS TO EAT THE KID.
A thought I never had, but dang... That's true. Oh my goodness...
And the 'funny' thing is: eating a kid is not even the most horrible thing happening in this show

That scene is a bit dumb IMO and feels like with a plot hole.
Think about it: Grisha asks Kruger why he would not save the rest of his people, why only Grisha, when obviously Kruger might have turned earlier to save everyone. Stupidly enough, Kruger simply gaslights Grisha, telling him about his wounded hands, and how many people Kruger killed. Not answering the question.
The only reason I come up with is this: «it has to be this way otherwise the plot would change» but obviously it cannot be a reason to anything. And you know how they call something that cannot be explained by character motivations, yet the characters absolutely intentionally do something really stupid, and it determines entire future plot? A plot-hole.

Yeah, I wonder if that's genetic somehow? Grisha didn't have the Attack Titan when Zeke was born, so it makes sense that Zeke wouldn't have that quality. Maybe Eren's innate desire for freedom was merely enhanced when he received his father's titan.

@@DanielZealTitan shenanigans may play a role, but also people just have certain personalities. We see in the high school AU that Eren is also this way, despite titans not existing in that world. Clearly Eren has certain characteristics regardless of the universe he exists in.
The japanese title of this show is "shingeki no kyojin" which literally translates to THE ATTACK TITAN so yeah , this was a title drop

I can't think of a title that would work quite as well with this twist without giving away the revelation in english, so Attack on Titan is at least pretty catchy

You can translate "no" from Japanese to the English genitive case, but in this context it is talking about attributes, not possession. "Titan of Attack" implies the Titan belongs to someone named "Attack". Since you are specifying a quality of a specific titan, you say "The Attack Titan"

It's a little more than that, even: like the other commenter says, "Shingeki no Kyojin" is effectively a pun in Japanese because it can mean "The Advancing/Attacking Titans" *or* "The Titan who Advances/Attacks" (with "advance" meant in the sense of like, a military charge). Initially, we think the show is about the titans who are attacking humanity within the walls. Then, we get the sense that maybe it's about Eren being the Titan who attacks everybody else.
And now with the final line from Krueger, we get a hint that there aren't two meanings, but three!

Crazy how the side character's conversations are the ones that perfectly encapsulate and describe the themes of this series. This being the best of them. (e.g. Kenny's conversation with Uri, Erwin's brief conversation with Pixis after the coup, and then there's another one in season 4 which I won't spoil.)

When i first watched the show i initially thought that Kenny's character was just a random villain just put there to cause some action and give us some cool fighting scenes in a boring political series of episodes on the start of season 3. But when i watched his last scene and the show proceeded to prove his point everytime a new character shows up, that's when i thought to myself "yeah, this show really is different, everything happens for a reason here".

You both are the perfect balance of smart and empathetic reactors. I don't like it when reactors are all about yelling, asking dumb questions, focusing on unnecessary things, or lacking EQ to understand the reason behind characters' actions or being emotionless on emotional scenes.

When Eren Krueger was talking to Grisha about titans and their mission, Eren Jaeger had the same exact pose as him. It shows that possibly Eren was talking to his dad through Krueger when he was speaking out loud in his cell for Armin and Mikasa to hear.
These last few episodes of season three are absolute peak fiction
"Shingeki no Kyojin" is the name of the series and holds multiple meanings. Originally, it could mean "titans that attack", which makes perfect sense considering what's happening in season 1. Then Eren becomes a titan, and the meaning suddenly changes to "attacking titan", which is what Eren's titan was at that point. This is the moment where the real name of the show, THE Attack Titan is dropped. It was the title of his titan all along. Brilliant story-telling at something as simple as the show's name.

I think you missed the fact "Shingeki no Kyojin" is the name of the show. The Attack Titan. My bet is it was translated as "Attack on Titan" to make it less of a spoiler. Great reaction as always, you girls are really clever.
The detail of Mikasa looking like she is starving despite the food being provided because she didn't want to live a long life alone without Eren and Armin(since they will die within some years because of the 13 year curse)..so she starved herself
Um.. She found out about curse of Ymir in that scene only so how could she be starving herself before that

One of the best examples of directing and editing in any episode in the series. Eren Kruger's final line always gives me chills.
This is also one of the last episodes with Sawano as lead composer. Even though I read these scenes in the manga first, Sawano's score adds so much weight to every revelation.
You know what came into my mind just now? The first episode Eren told his parents that he wants to join the scouts because he doesn't want to be trapped inside the walls. His mum was totally upset but his dad stayed calm and wanted to show him the basement. Maybe because he saw that his son has it in him. He's willing to fight for freedom.
"Future memories" was an interesting term to use there.

At the end of chapter 9 of the first season (1x9) Eren remembers these words from his father before injecting him "if you want to save Armin and Mikasa, you must master this power" he remember it before transforming to stop the cannonball

You get that “It can’t be!” moment, alongside Eren. It clicks for both audience, and character, in the same couple of seconds. Great reveal!
"To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through. [...] I'm not sure. Whose memories are those?" You're speculating now on whether Paths and the coordinate transcend time, or there's some other explanation? Well, if you REALLY WANT YOUR MIND BLOWN, I highly suggest you rewatch the FIRST FEW MINUTES OF SEASON ONE EPISODE ONE after the intro music plays, when Eren is sleeping under the tree... and double check the NAME OF THE VERY FIRST EPISODE. You might even want to include that in one of your reactions as a five-minute extra if you have time, or at least your discussion/notes about it. It's worth it.
Gotta give it to Isayama, he even foreshadowed how many of us will name our sons after Eren.

(no spoilers) I know you're ahead, but nn interesting tidbit, not sure if anyone on your patreon pointed this out, but "Shingeki no Kyoujin" as you no doubt know, is the name of the show. But in Japanese, it would literally be translated as "Attack's Titan", the japanese character 'no' denoting a possessive. So when title of the manga/anime was interpreted before as being "Attack on Titan" i.e. attacking the titans - but now the 'real' title is revealed as being "The Attack Titan", and it's at this point we now know the entire story is about it/Eren. I absolutely loved that scene where he explained all that. Thank you for another fantastic reaction!

You guys as we have been saying the whole time catch things better than any other reactions. And I feel like a lot of people forget the important details in this episode from the coordinate, to Eren touching Dina, and the Owl mentioning Mikasa and Armin
Eren is a freedom fighter.
People whose countries were colonized would understand his feelings.
To some he is just irrational fighter.
Eren inspire me to be free and to seek freedom.
This might be a shock to you, but every country has been colonized, or conquered at some time, or another.
Britons were conquered by Romans. Later Romans pulled away and Britons were conquered by Anglo-Saxon-Yuts.
Anglo-Saxons were then conquered by the Danes, king Knut ruled over England, Denmark, Norway and for a brief period Sweden.
Anglo-Saxons-Danes were conquered by Normans, who were a vassal of a French king, making the English a b!tch of a French b!tch.
Later over centuries, Normans intermarried with French nobility and inherited vast holdings in France to a point English king owned more French land than French king himself.
English did not even have a king who spoke English for nearly 4 centuries between 1066-1444.
Something like 80% of property market in the UK today is still owned by the descendants of Norman nobility, not English.
Spain was enslaved for nearly 7 centuries by Muslims, 4 centuries by Romans.
You look at a country, or a place and you see people who were conquerors and the conquered ones. Some were worse than others.
It just so happened the Europeans turned out to be the most industrious and ended up abolishing barbaric practices such as slavery, child brides, etc. Though some European countries such as Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Portugal were barbaric at treating some natives.
Britain and France fought against slavery for the past 2 centuries and only paid off the debt encored fighting slavery in 2016.
They have been paying it off for 200 years and nobody ever thanks them.

FYI, Eren's titan's name is actually the original name of the show in Japanese. It doesn't match the english translation as they didn't know at the time
