- The goal is not to become famous for my sculptures haha. This project serves more as a strong pillar in my life. It is something i can put my focus and time into, and i hope it will take me places
I hope you liked the first video in this new series. Feedback is always appreciated!

The expression on that pup's face is simply wonderful. It reminds me of the expressions on the faces of the dogs I have had over the years and that pup's face is not out of the ordinary. It brings a lot of memories back of my dogs. My Westie, Dougal, used to sleep on top of the back of an armchair; he always liked being high up. One day he ran across the living room floor and in two jumps he was up in his favourite spot and settled in to enjoy the sunshine. He lay back, rolled over then fell off...he got right back on top of the chair again. Dougal was never scared of anything lol.
It turned out beautifully Jonas! You made the right decision not too put too much detail all over, the piece would look too busy. I often make a rough little clay model to help me see how one section flows into another. I am so looking forward to seeing more of your brilliant work this year. In my mind you are already famous!
Thank you so much! haha well the getting famous part is really not that important. I get the most reliable positivity from improving my skills.

Can you plzz do a carving of a hand holding the world I think that would be a fun challenge ?
So happy that you are back Jonas, amazing work once again!!!!
Thank you! I appreciate the support a lot!
So, so happy that you're back to amaze us again!!! You were missed 💟
Thank you so much! I have missed uploading videos a lot! I hope i get to do it many times this year
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft you are not the only one that hopes so! Your videos are not just 'uh, watch me work' but they are very informative and educational! I really like the fact you mention all the different things of your process you would change for future projects.
Really liked how the lighter part of the walnut was on the face. Looking forward to the next video. 👍
That is very nice to hear! In the future i will try to buy some logs that has more of the light area
Turned out super fantastic! Love Black Walnut. Was a fun video, too. Your pup is adorable! Can't wait to see the rest.
Thank you! Yes its my favourite wood. This one was pretty dark i think on the scale of black walnut.
This sculpture came out fantastic! I hope to see more videos from you this year if you keep to your plan.
Thank you! Yeah i will try my best to stick to the plan
Beautiful as always. The leaf on its back may be flat but it also preserves the silhouette of the wolf and keeps it recognizable at a distance. Good luck on your journey. I'll be following closely!
Thank you! Thats an interesting take! I appreciate the support
Excellent carving result, entertaining video with a fun intro!
Thank you!
You have a great sense of humor. Your sculptures are amazing. You could sell your sketches they are brilliant.
You do such gorgeous work. I'm so glad to see you and your work again.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words
You're the talent, I'm just the appreciative observer. 😄
So good to see you Jonas..back in the shop and with a plan...
I'm sure we all hope you're doing well and your plan goes smoothly enough..and hey..if there are moments not to your liking..well that's ok too...
You wolf pup is adorable and we'll be looking forward to your next sculpture...
Stay warm..God bless you...🌿🌿🌿
Thank you so much for the kind words! It is very encouraging to me. Looking forward to bring you more awesome videos this year
Great project for this year. I support your monthly pieces and strongly encourage you to follow your dream to have an exhibition by the end of the year. Gooooo....!
Thank you! Great to get feedback like this
You are 90% of the reason that I found the inspiration and will to try out power tool wood carving myself. And you're still my prime inspiration in this area - your work is fantastic, and I've always enjoyed listening to you talking. Keep up the good work, and a huge welcome back here from Denmark (yeah I know, I'm late to the "wecome back" party...)
Stunning! Thank you for showing us your process and sharing the wonderful result.
Your work inspire me so much ! You're part of the reason that I want to learn woodcarving !
Your dog is adorable and I'm impressed with your tree climbing ability 😉
Thank you so much! Yeah she is a senior dog, But i make sure to keep her healthy. Taking her on walks is perhaps the most meaningful thing i do.
Lovely. Look forward to seeing how the rest of the years projects come out 🙂
As always you leave me in Awe, sir! Thank you for your beautiful imagination, talent, inspiration and honesty! I hope one day to learn and work with you. Currently only working in cabnetry. You give me so much inspiration and hope! Thank you
Also, thanks for the giggles and showing your wonderful personality😊
Thank you for the very kind words! I think working in cabnetry is an incredibly valuable skill to have if you plan to transition into some creative journey of your own eventually. You prbably have 20x the knowledge i have about tools!
amazing use of plant imagery on an animal canvas, I look forward to seeing what you do next! best of luck on fulfilling your 12 sculptures, I hope the journey will be rewarding and provide knowledge and experience
Thank you! yeah im aiming for 12 or even more this year, But a part of me thinks i will start to make even bigger sculptures so 12 is probably enough haha
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft 12 sounds like a great goal!! If you make more that's great but it's also important not to set your goal too high
Just found your channel. Love the wolf pup! You are an excellent carver. Thanks for sharing.
Sure do miss you when you're gone....
Please stay back on more and more.
Pretty sure we ALL wish you well, health and happiness.
Bless you. From Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Thank you so much!
Love the wolf cub. Look forward to the rest of your sculptures.
Thank you so much! Hope i get to bring you many more cool sculpture videos this year!
So happy you are getting back to the UA-cam vids. You inspired me and many other people I’m sure to start carving. You are a great artist and a funny guy. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for still being here!
JONAS, WHAT A NEAT RENDITION!!! THE PROPORTIONS ARE PERFECT AND THE FUR DESIGN IS DREAMY. LOTS OF LOVE. BY THE WAY, NO MORE SKI CRASHING PLEASE!!! CAN'T CARVE WITH A CAST YOU KNOW!!! KEEP EM COMING!!!!!💪❤👀😀🇺🇸
I've been a Sub of your channel since the early days, your creations are stunning ! so I don't foresee you not achieving your goal brother 🤟Skål 🍺
Thank you so much! Yeah my channel grew really fast in the start, but i wasnt able to maintain the momentum. Fortunately i have found peace in focusing more on improving my skills instead of growing an online audience.
stunning! what a great start to a year of works.
Jonas. your videos are an amazing discovery. I love what you are doing. One piece of advice, stop asking for advice... the magic of watching you do this, learn this, figure out how to do this your way, IS the magic. You are definitely on the path to success. Neither you, nor we, can tell you what that success will be, but you are a real person, pursuing something, primarily with their own drive, determination, inspiration and integrity. That is enough, just do it the way if feels right to you. This is magic. Thank you for inviting us along...
Fingers crossed with whole series 🤞Glad to see another video 😊
Thank you so much!
This wolf pup is everything I am so in love with this magnificent work and I would be so proud to own and cherish this piece if I had the chance. I adore the calm look as though he is enjoying the sun and a cool breeze after a nice content day of feeding and play.
Missed your videos, man. Good luck with Project FAMOUS.
Thank you so much! It is heartwarming to see that people are still around
By about 1/3 of the way through it already looked better than I could hope to achieve. I've done some wood sculpting over the past few years, partly inspired by you... You're style is really good, I look forward to all of your videos. When I get a few fires put out, I will take up carving again.
Thank you so much! I wish you all the best with your creations. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it
so beautiful and amazing woodcraft sculptures
Enjoyed the video! And looking forward to the rest of your sculptures. The otter will be a challenge, but I’m pretty confident you’ll nail that one too.
Thank you so much! I hope i will and i will do my best
Just amazing ! Walnut is perfect for this kind of project, but you have golden hands Jonas !
Thank you! The Otter fits well with the walnut color as well i think. I have to make a brown bear to haha
Seeing your vids always gives me so much inspiration and joy. The sculpture is beautiful and adorable! Well done!
Thank you so much! I am very glad you liked it
Really lovely work. Your stylization choices are lovely.
Amazing! Another beautiful work of art.
Thank you so much!
Looking forward to 2023! :D You are a master crafter, that is for sure! That sculpture is cuteness OVERLOAD!
Thank you! Yeah i will use 2023 to improve as much as i can!
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft I will try and follow your example! Cheers!
Impecable trabajó , felicitaciones !!!!! Saludos desde Uruguay
Amazing work! I love to draw sculptures so you give me much inspiration!
Good job Jonas! I am looking forward to your next projects. How inspiring :)
Thank you! your comment is inspiring as well!
Gorgeous! Do like having flat areas so the wood gets a chance to show its beauty
It turned out amazing! Nice work!👏👏you'll get famous for that skiing technique as well😄👌
Thank you! Haha as long as i have my ability to create stuff i will be happy
You're stuff is very inspiring, I look forward to your otter sculpture too😊
Awesome as always, Jonas. You are right about the nose area, not only does it make a great contrast but it immediately reminded me of a wolf/dog pup as their nose area is usually naturally lighter then the rest of their body, at least in the puppy stage.
Thank you! Oh i did not think of that. How perfect :D
Every video showcases so much effort and skill, it's humbling to acknowledge. Best of wishes, health and inspiration!
Thank you! I am very passionate about the series i have just started. That really helps when it comes to putting down good effort every time im in the workshop
Im so glad you are back and having a fun project to work on! Hope you enjoy doing it as much as we enjoy watching it!! Cheers mate and thank you for the beautiful content!
Beautiful!! I look forward to more of your sculptures.
Thank you very much!
Well, seeing this episode... Keep doing what you do and you will not fail. First piece of art is a real piece of art 😉
Thank you! Good to hear feedback like this!
Great to see you back, your work is fantastic my favourite part is when its oiled the project just comes alive
Thank you so much! That is my favourite part as well, altough it can be time consuming to oil all those details properly.
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft Well worth it though😁
Hey friend, welcome back, so happy to see you again. Such an amazing sculpture you made again and can't wait to see the next, it looks stunning too. I do believe that you can make it to become famous, I know you can do it, I know you can. I believe in you.
Thank you for believing in me! If i can make 12 sculptures this year and have an exhibition i concider it a success regardless of the outcome
Great job. KUTZALL are my favorite carving tips. I have over sixty tips of various shapes and sizes.
Thanks for letting me know! I am always on the look for more carving tips, I will check that out
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft I hope with enough time. I will be as beautiful as a carver than you.
Great video, this wolf is amazing 👍 looking forward to see what other amazing sculptures you create!
Thank you so much!
It's so nice to see you making videos again. I love the carving. Wolves are one of my favorite animals. Also, despite having a bell icon clicked, I noticed I missed your last two videos so I'll have to be more diligent about checking. Off to watch those!
Thank you so much! I must admit that those past two videos lacked a bit of passion from my side. But the videos i will create this year will absolutely be something i can be passionate about
I love how your work turned out as always ^^ especially the way you used the naturally occurring colouring for the nose and paw! As for the video itself; i wouldnt mind it being a bit longer, 15-20 min, and getting to see a bit more (maybe a bit of b roll with some music?) I wish you a lot of luck and joy in taking these new steps in becoming even more amazing and famous
Thank you for the feedback! I will keep that in mind. I will try to capture intricate details in the next one and folllow a cronological path.
Фантастически красиво ! Мастер золотые руки . Привет из России !!!
Hi Jonas , fantastic fun start in this video! Puppy wolf looks so cool and is good to see working process , lot of time is behind this masterpiece. Fantastic result, puppy looks gorgeous! Im looking forward to your next video! BTW you are famous already ! If you looking for some wood logs or turnings blanks I have supplier in UK and they specialized to exotic wood.
Thank you so much!
What a perfect art! thanks!
Thank you so much!
Great that you came back!
God he's so beautiful. What? Yes, the wolf too, obviously.
I really love how the wood ended up with a lighter portion on the pup's nose! It's amazing how the oil brings out the beauty of the wood. I love the mix of fur texture with the naturalistic abstract swirls-- it's a wonderful combination. There's great balance in positive and negative space here, and I love the wolf's one uplifted paw! I am cheering you on in your quest to become famous for your sculptures!!
haha thank you so much! Great to get feedback like this. give me confidence for my next project :D
Love the way you explain your process in a voiceover and also am super happy that you're back at it! Can't wait for the other videos!
Thank you! Yeah i try to add value by using voiceover. I will do my best to spend time figuring out interesting things to say for my next one as well
Hi Jonas 👋, seeing your video after a very long gap!!!! You are a extremely gifted artist and looking forward to your videos 👌 best wishes ❤️ 🙏from India
Thank you so much! Yes im aware i have these gaps on my youtube channel. Hopefully i can stick to my plan now and create the rest of the 11 episodes of this series this year
Go man!! I'm with you! taking your example! :-)
By the way beautiful piece of art!!
Thank you so much! :D
That is a beautiful wolf. Absolutely gorgeous. 🐺
Thank you so much!
Beautiful work. 👍
Thank you so much!
I'm definitely staying to see you get famous mate. Love your style of art
He's so beautiful!🐺 I can't believe I didn't see this video😭
you are so talented i am really glad you are back jonas
Thank you so much! Yes i am glad i have chosen to go for a series like this. It is a lot easier to stick to
It's got a lot of life. I really like it. Looking forward to the next one, it looks amazing!
Thank you so much! I will try my best to bring you some epic carving in my next video as well
I think it turned out perfect. Though I originally thought the more detail would be cool, you stopped with the right amount of detail. At the end of the year, when you are more famous, you can sell copies of your sketches in a book or as prints. Awesome work Jonas!
Thank you! Yes i guess i could do that, But i would honestly like to create a free archive of designs on my website. I just think it is a very valuable for people to be able to do something creative. Im sure i will get rewarded for it in some way if i do it that way.
Beautiful piece Jonas
Thank you so much!
I keep watching this video over and over. I love this sculpture so much. Would love to purchase it. Norway also is on my bucket list of countries to visit.. Maybe if i can manage to save up enough i could go to your exhibition. That would be ultimate happiness :D Either way if i can make it or not i hope it will be a great succes, because your woodworking art is the best.
Thank you so much! I am very excited about that exhibition
Came out great, looking forward to watching you become famous for your sculptures.
Thank you! yeah haha i hope it will take me some nice places in life
Great project and great video! Put please, let us see more handsanding next time, it’s my favourite part about woodworking.
Edit: by the way, I love the color of the nose. The brighter part of the wood is perfectly placed.
Thank you! Alright, expect a 50 hour video next time. I will include all the handsanding in real time xD
I always hate to admit when an art piece is worth a large sum of money, but I could see this piece going for $1500+ USD, and I would consider spending $100 a big purchase for art. Your artistic abilities will definitely get you where you aim to go
J,
Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Your videos and commentary are so wonderfully educational. Your ability and vision to create is a “gift” that we get to enjoy. The wolf pup is beautiful. I am looking forward to your next project and many more after…
Thank you for sharing your “safety” comments regarding wood dust exposure. I have been diligent in wearing an N-95 dust mask, but I think moving toward a better fitting (canister style) respirator is best. I did build a dust capture system from shop vacuums that works pretty well, but fine dust still gets all over my small shop.
By the way, I think you will be “most famous” for how you communicate your creativity.
The beauty of your art is inspirational!
Thank you so much! Your words gives me a lot of courage and motivation. I will try to best to bring you more awesome videos this year
amazing wood carving
Looks amazing! I am looking forward to the series!
Thank you so much! I will have a lot of fun bringing you more videos this year
Great work! Can’t wait to see the rest of the series
Thank you so much!
Amazing work 👏👏👏👏 I personal opinion is that you are to hard on yourself. I’m very happy to see you back making videos keep it up my friend cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you so much! Too hard on myself? Perhaps, But it is very important for me to find meaning in life and i do it by exploring what i am capable of. But perhaps i should alternate between "Tricky" projects and projects i am more confident with.
Side note: I am very fascinated with Canadian wilderness. I have been watching a ton of tv shows of explorers being there and its my favourite thing to watch.
Супер!!!! Шикарная работа!!!!
Beautiful job that was funny intro XD
Haha thank you. Im having a lot of fun making them, But i need to be careful not to give them too much attention
That's a great project. Let's go becoming famous!!!
Thank you! haha ye lets get famous! :D
Well done Jonas!
Thank you so much!
This was an amazing sculpture and looked fantastic, especially with that lighter tone in the nose ... and the whole idea of the series is great, really excited for all the other episodes ... Big fan Jonas... you inspired me to start carving aswell!
Thank you! It is so great to get feedback like ths. Really makes me confident moving forward this year
Omg thank-you for replying haha, I never get replies off anyone else. so "tusen takk"
Amazing!!
Thank you so much! Yeah i have been having this channel for a while now haha. Time to brush some dust off of it
OOh i can't wait to follow this series!! Your work is amazing and you definitely deserve to become famous for it!!
Thank you so much!
Absolutely love this! ❤️ can't wait to see the next one!!
Thank you so much! It warms my heart so much to hear that people are excited about my next video :D
Wow this beautiful great work ❤
Great art work Jonas. I do enjoy watching you create. How long did this sculpture take to complete? Can't wait for the next one
Thank you! Well maybe this took 60 hours in total or more. I did not count the hours unfortunately
The contrast from nose to top of his head makes his face stand out more. It actually looks like copper to me. Maybe that should be this wolf's name.
I love how this came out :O I can't wait for future episodes and I will do my best to share your content with my friends to do my tiny part in helping you reach your goal by the end of the year :) I know that's not a lot and you will reach your goal because of your amazing skill and dedication to your craft.
Thank you so much for sharing your work with the world. I enjoy it so much.
Thank you so much! That is superhelpful for me and it is deeply appreciated! I will do my best to bring you more epic episodes!
Ya!!! Welcome back Jonas!
Hey thank you! Im so glad to bring you another video :D
Definitely a piece to be proud of!
Thank you! I appreciate that
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you so much!
Great work as always. I live in sweden and have a hard time to find good burrs, the one you used for the fur and other things, where did you get it?
Hey and thank you! I have the same problem. I have ordered many different cheap ones from ebay just to test them out. The ones i used for the fur is called Wolfram carbide burrs. i bought them off of fruugo.com.
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft Aa ok, yeah I've seen that they had some on fruugo, wasn't sure if had the courage to test them :P But they seems to work fine.
Thank you :)
It's wild to me that you're aren't already famous for your sculptures. Your style is amazing!
haha thank you for the kind words. I am looking very much forward to when i can have my exhibition. I am also looking forward to continue the journey before i get there
amazing work cant wait for the next ☘
again great work. you are an art angle jonas
Thank you so much! Trying my absolute best
Seeing this really makes me want to get into doing this - time consuming, I know, but wow
Thank you! Its very enjoyable to have something like this to spend time on
