I have owned two Lance campers, second being an 1172. First thing is most will be staggered by the price. The Lance camper is well worth it's price, very well built by a company that always stands behind it's product. As a contractor in Houston I lived in mine for 6 months. What's nice about this unit is your ability to park almost anywhere. We took ours from Dallas to Key West FL. camped at a Wierd little campground at "Cow Key" and cycled throughout Key West. Another feature is the ability to take the camper anywhere worth while then just cylcle to near by destinations. Bathroom break or lunch? No problem, pull into a rest stop or parking lot, turn on the generator, air conditioner/furnace and enjoy. And no, I'm not a Lance shill, just a satisfied customer.

    Another good one Brad.
Though I live less than an hour from Lance Manufacturing outside Lancaster, CA I tune in to your videos pretty regularly as a more favorable option. Your casual demeanor and practical speak is where you shine above the others; no bullshit, no up-selling,”it is what it is”, is non-patronizing, refreshing, and the others could learn a lot from your style.
My suggestion: your dealership should send you out with a small boat for a practical hands on about how YOU would “fish ‘n fun” as I’m sure your practical style would carry over for those of us without rigs, the pitfalls and advantages to a camper rig. So very tired of hot chicks clickbaiting UA-cam with “over-produced” content.
That’s my two cents. Keep up the good work!

    - How much does it cost?

    - Is there a way to connect the inside with the truck? In regard to safety, I'd like to always be able to drive away without having to go outside. That is why I always want to be able to access the driving cabin from the inside.

They are great trailers, never owned a truck camper but if I get into that market I would definitely consider a lance . Lance utilizes all the space available in useful ways and are durable, I have a lift on my trailer and and almost all our camping is done off the grid off road and it takes a beating. I had two issues with it in the first year and Lance took care of me the past five years no issues . Great product. Now that I think about it truck campers is how they started out I still see a lot older ones up here in Montana still looking good .

can you make an ice maker in the freezer portion. The fridge is very nice.
I do not understand the storage over the dinette. I see the bed portion but please go into open storage and then how to close it-what does that feature look like with storage filled and closed?
what is the diff between dry bath and wet bath?
what is the story with type of john and what is the maintenance?
you need a 3500 or 4500 commercial truck to maintain and hold it, the spokes look meager that attach to the truck bed or sides?
are all the pipes insulated for 4 season camping?
does it have any solar power?
there is hardly any room in the kitchen for food supplies and I don't dry pantry and in N.C. everything ahs to be refrigerated or it molds darn quickly. IN fact, I think many of your cupboards for food should be refrigerated or elevated cooler than room temp or food will mold in 3 days or less. You are talking to a former Chef. if drawers and closets were sealed, like a fridge, it would keep out the bugs too., crawling varmint that is apparent more so in traveling months.
It was a good tour by the gentleman. They have a lot of dual purpose equip in the camper portion.
How much do these cost? I think is valuable to mention this price so I don't want to live beyond my means and maybe would have to save for this choice.
What is the year round maintenance on these vehicles?
does this model have a generator?
I wish they offered the service of renting the vehicle and having a teacher accompany us to use all the features or teach us how to use the features offered?
Can you forgo any options shown like I do not care for the awning and I would not sit outside for safety reasons and bug bites. Those mosquitoes love me but I am allergic to them. I would take a hike and stay indoors and with the screen value
Can the dinette be placed in a different angle for a single bed and in the space created add more clothing space or a larger refrigerator or cooled storage area for food so it will not spoil. The sofa area could maybe be the dinette too although the features on it are nice and one could add a table and then leave the dinette area into more storage or larger area for more refrigertated kitchen storage. There is not a lot of room for dishes, pantry items and it might looks nice the dinette area to make it the counter space for storage for the kitchen put the sink over there and make it for dishes and refrigerated and dry pantry items and on the other side the heated side for microwave, stove and oven and prep area.
I think there is a market you are leaving out of this equation. there are a lot of single people out there and they don't need multiple beds, they need efficiency. My pet days are behind me. I have no children and very single but content. I still work as a nanny when I need to work and still love teaching children. I've never been to a campground. That is why it would be nice to rent this vehicle if it were possible. I would need an instructor to know how to touch anything on it to know and understand how it works.

The sofas in the two slideouts seem to be useable as 4 to 5 feet long beds, which would be for kids. The back one should offer an extension for adults. The left one can not be longer, than it actually is.

My personal opinion, if you can afford to get a chassis cab configuration it will be better. Ram 5500 with a CM bed for example, not saying ram is the best, just using as a example. A ram 5500 payload capability is around 10,000 pounds. You would have thousands of pounds extra not being used.
If a regular 1 ton dually is being used. Doesn't matter which manufacturer you choose, ram , ford, Chevy. You will be at max capacity or over

Yep... you’re 100% correct here and one should make allowances for the weight on your hitch adding to GVW if you’re gonna tow something!

Take a look at the 2020 Super Duty towing guide. F-350 SuperCab dually has a slide-in camper cargo capacity of about 6,400 lbs. This Lance would be under that limit.

I have no doubt a competent electrician could install panels, combined with a generator and alternator for a rack of batteries and you could be fully self sufficient I’d bet. The only tricky part would be your bathroom waste and getting water for the shower. I’m sure camper pros know how to get those things handled tho, I’ve personally never used a camper, so I’m not sure. These videos randomly started popping up in my recommended feed and I’m so glad they did. Now I’m all in, and fully ready to get a starter one.

Nice looking camper. Has a nice layout comparable to other makes largest models. I just purchased a hardly used truck/camper combo a couple of weeks ago. The truck is a 2008 GMC 3500 1 ton dually diesel 4X4 ext cab only 71,000km. The camper is a 2007 Lance 992. Camper is immaculate condition and has 2 slide outs. This camper is heavy enough too over 4300 lbs wet. I’ve been reading all the manuals to familiarize myself with the operation of its equipment. Lance campers have the largest market share and appear to be well constructed. I’m also researching upgrading the lead acid batteries for lithium ion ones which would also mean upgrading the power converter. How long do you think before the camper manufactures switch to lithium ion batteries for their standard equipment or even an option? I’m also looking at a couple of 100 watt solar panels to charge the batteries. Looking forward to trying the camper out before winter.

well i was thinking of tiny homes again and thought if this was built as a kinda space ship or looking or rounded somewhat and was thinking like a small modern structure along the lines of architechture of a dome house or a tee pee and many could have on one property as it takes up no space;/
